I agree bougainvillea are so beautiful and a joy to see such a profusion of bright colors. I am surprised by this plant often! In my yard I have a big display. On the west side that is heavily shaded, they grow crazy good, on the East in full sun the growth is easily 50% less and get attacked by spider mites and other pests not found on the shady plants. All are planted and cared for equally. The mysteries of nature. I love your beautiful results!
Glad to know and thank you for your words! The mysteries of nature...that's very true. In past, funny things happened with me too..in some of my Bougainvillea plants, I was tried of not getting flowers. Then, one day I shifted them from whole day of sunlight to only 2 hours of direct sunlight. As they were not flowering, I thought to utilize the space for other plants by ignoring the non-performing bougainvillea plants. Surprisingly..they started blooming within few days even though I totally neglected them. Mysteries of nature..sometimes, too much love & care is bad for us..he he..
@@aakashgill870 You can prune them off, but a remarkably easy way I do it is to use my hose head set to JET (strongly directed spray) and just blow them away. The next blooming uses the old stems.
Glad you liked the plants and thank you so much for your words! Thank you again but I am just trying here n there a bit..he he..Double Bougainvilleas look great and they also bloom quite frequently..
Are there different types of bougainvillea? I saw some growing on tub which looks short ... But i want the one which would grow bigger and fall on the wall.. How can i recognize the breed ?
Yeah, there are different varieties. Now a days, tissue cultured are available everywhere. They usually don't grow like vine and become bushier, more branches. If you want them to grow bigger and fall on wall, please avoid Tissue cultured variety and grow the local one. If you ask nursery, they would inform you.
Thank you very much for watching from Florida! It depends on Blooming Cycle and Growth time. Here, they keep blooming heavily till around April-May and from then rainy season starts. During that time flowering get decreased and and plants start to grow fast (entry of growth time) So, that time we can prune to make it more bushy. Similar way, growth rate decreased a bit from August mid-end onwards and they start to flower. So, that time we shouldn't do hard pruning. Having said that, other than hard pruning, we can always keep doing soft pruning here n there. Like, timing the branches where flowers are already spent and so on. If I am not wrong, the cycle is same over Florida. If yes, please go ahead and do the same thing like mentioned here. If not, then please do based on the flowering cycle. I hope, I have answered to your question. But if you have any, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck!
@Parismita Gogoi, They would bloom as time is still there..no worry! In the meantime, please watch this video - th-cam.com/video/IS5AbRDFFA0/w-d-xo.html
Should be the Bridal Bouquet (please refer this page - bougainvilleas.com/bougainvilleas/) I am bad at remembering the exact variety name and here in my place, Nursery don't put any label. For more flowers, you can refer that page and select all these - Sunvillea Rose,Scarlett-O-Hara (Red),Mahara Roseville (Orange),Mahara Magic (Red),Carpet Purple,California Gold,Java White,Barbara Karst,Texas King Please note, blooming depends on many factors. Very soon, I would do another video where I would include some of my highest flowering plants. You would be able to see it yourself..and select any you like. Would need around 15 days to do that video (waiting for heavy flowers) Hope that helps..thank you!
We can..but I would highly recommend you to watch this video once - th-cam.com/video/ZG5c3I9Q89M/w-d-xo.html You would get all the details with updates of around 1 year. Plus, result too :-) Thank you for watching and Sir is not required actually :-) Happy Gardening :-)

Very beautiful plants. Seems you are from Guwahati
I love the color l have that thank you 😊
Glad to here and thank you very much for watching 😊
Can you use the pruned branches for propagation?
Absolutely, as long as the branches you are cutting are not too green and they are semi-woody
