    We lived for 3 years by Satthorn Rd. You can live also by SIAM line. There are two major BTS LINE, Siam and Sukhumvit line. A nice place to live also is close to Emporium Shopping Mall. We lived at Oakwood Service Apartments too. There is BTS Line and also Subway Stations.

    that is not a SOI dog it has a collar! it probably needs someone to take him to a vet and check for a chip and return to owner. why / how everyone (including you) looks / turns the other way is beyond me! does no one have morals, ethics, values and integrity? or limited, selective and non-existent? +I think so OK ARE YOU SAYING THEY LET OWNED DOGS ROAM FREE? SEEMS ODD IN A CITY THIS SIZE. do you know anyone personally who does this? THESE ARE LOST DOGS.

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A Soi dog is just a catch all term for a loose dog on the street (or Soi) Of course there are some homeless dogs. Even most of those are fed by a security guard, etc.. Yes it is 100% acceptable to have your dog run loose. The dog will return when it's time to eat. It may be 100 feet from it's house. Please do not attempt to touch one of these dogs or you will get a bite. They probably don't have shots or a chip.
      You may find it odd that dogs roam free, but this is Thailand. It may be odd where you're from, but you can't try and change Thailand. The saying is to let Thailand change you. When I was a kid in the 1980's all the neighbor dogs ran around the block. Our dogs also were allowed to run free at the beach. This is still the case in Thailand.
      I'm not sure if your in Thailand. Forget about dogs. You might see a 5 year old walking alone down the busiest street in town. That kid might make that walk to his parents store, etc.. everyday. You need to accept Thailand and not try and change what you feel is correct. Or, you might have a tough time visiting or living here. At the very least, you'll have a fresh dog bit each week. I'm not trying to be negative, but the comment in all caps was almost a HOW DARE YOU type thing. A loose dog in Thailand isn't anything to be afraid off (in my view) or worried about. Same with two kids standing on dads motorbike without helmets. Of course you might be concerned in Sydney or Los Angeles. You voice your concern in Bangkok and be prepared to get yelled at. Thai people are cool, until an outsider starts to tell them how they should live.
      You may take this as a negative response. It's not. I'm just trying to save you some heartache in Thailand. I'm 57 and I've been around the block (and world) more than a few times. So take my advice or don't. Come enjoy Bangkok. If you see a lose dog, it does not need to be rescued. I say in my videos, I'm a dog lover, but do not try and pet a Soi dog. (once again, that's just a loose dog, not a homeless animal in need of help) These dogs are street smart and you will get a bite. When you go to get the rabies shots, the doctor will scold you for trying to touch a loose dog. As he should. So understand the program in Thailand and you'll be fine. Try and tell a city of 16 million how to live and your in for a hard visit. That's my opinion, now of course you need to make your own decisions. If that's going to include trying to be a dog whisper lady, you're in for a painful visit. Just leave the dogs alone. Trust me, they don't want you to touch them. Or, find out the hard way.
