Leprous es una banda que será recordada dentro de los próximos 20 años dentro de la escena progresiva.

    Leprous resuscitates music. I find the wonderment and expansiveness of their music moving on a spiritual level.
    At 35 years of age, living through the Nintendo era, the 90's, the 00's until now. In my youth finding the world of music quite stimulating and exciting until a major decline therein for me during the late 90's until the last 5 to 10 years where we are seeing a major leap in the artistic horizons of heavy music.
    Leprous take on the stagnating musical stage creating vivid, boisterous yet restrained heavy music for us in a modern age. How refreshing.

    Really love that song. It's catchy and simpler than their other stuff on the surface. Nonetheless pretty cool Leprous song, with depth and layers. I like that when bans varied their songs. Sometimes I need a break from complex, high technical stuff. I'm sure I will get that too on Melina. Besides, I have two young daughters (6 and 10) and they really liked Gojira and Leprous. They also really like that song (From the Flame)! They find Einar really cute, lol.

      Im not new to the genre. Been listening to all of those bands and even though Jay is formidable in the last album he did with Tesseract; THIS drummer makes the whole band alive. Is exactly what Gavin did back in the day when he joined Porcupine Tree.

      Ok that,s your opinion.
      In my humble opinion the last Tesseract album Polaris
      isn,t the best one.
      That,s why i was referring to their first two.
      On these albums Jay,s drumming is out of this world

    1. Really enjoying the organic sound this song (and album) has put forth. Listen to this song, and then listen to anything off the congregation to see what I mean. The Congregation will sound very mechanical.
    2. A stellar song, very atmospheric, melancholy, and emotional. Superb drumming, and as always, Einar's voice is outstanding. Very good riffs as well.
    3. The form of the song is very simple, which is understandable. The first single should be the safest song on the album. Plus, it has to be a shorter song too, so it makes sense the form of the song doesn't include too much variation. The price was also similar in this way.
    I'm excited for this album, I'm really hoping to see songs with more interesting forms, as well as some heavier songs. I really hope 8-string guitar will be on the album as well, as it has been on the last two.
    What are your guys thoughts?

    • @G0dbeast
      @G0dbeast 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard this band when I went to see Obscura and I'm just getting into them. This is precisely the sound I was looking for. I wanted something proggy, poppy with melancholic undertones. Definitely digging it. Probably gonna check out more.

    • @ckokomo808
      @ckokomo808 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey!
      Thanks for your thoughts...
      I agree with the “safe-ness” of this song...at least relatively! It’s a bit more “poppy” and easy to listen to. You can move your head to it without being confused...haha.
      But, they still have their Leprous elements...nice time signatures, groovy atypical rhythms, great changing atmosphere!
      Do you have a favorite song (or songs!) off this album? If so what about it?

    I think the part where this track really shows its brilliance is in the polymeter going on in the second verse, with the drums in 8/8 while everyone else is still in 13/8. It's one of the more subtle tricks the song pulls on your ears while still sounding surprisingly seamless.
