If he didn't get injured Bolt and Carter would've probably had one of the greatest track rivalries
True
Absolutely. We missed out on it huh?
looks like it was. the drive to take the crown the next time is always a great motivation.
they'd push each other for a sub 10s 200m
If ONlY
so basically, what you're saying is, we never really got to see usain bolt vs xavier carter.
damn i feel robbed, they would have rewritten the record books entirely keeping up with each other.
If Xavier sees this video he would be so happy for him saying this at the end 7:48
If you want to compare the two fairly you need to look at Bolt's 100m dash with a running start which is actually 8.7 compared to Carters 9.27.
@@Alex84575 I think you’re underestimating how much fatigue you get from running the first 100m. The only comparison would be 100% fair is if Carter didn’t get this awful leg injury.
I really hate that Johan Blake’s Prime happened at the same time as Bolt. He deserved the Glory, he’s the second fastest man ever!
*Yohan
Tied for second
@@willflemons2487
Well if you look at both his 100m and 200m
9.68
19.26
HE is indeed the second fastest ever. But I have a feeling he soon wont be. This Bromell looks to me like he has at least 9.66 in him on his best day.
@@fender1000100 go do your research and come back. Yohan Blake best time for the 100m is not 9.68 but 9.63. Stop hyping up Brommel and be realistic in analyzing the athlete. No athlete out there now is showing signs of Gatlin, Powell, Carter or even Maurice Green sonmuch so you are comparing them to Blake and Gay's time. See it for what it is and not what you are hoping for.
@Kyphosis than how did Blake run final 100m in 9.12 in 2011
I'm not a track and field enthusiast, but youtube recommended this channel to me and I'm enjoying it a lot.
Xavier Carter’s sunglasses make him look fast sitting down
Hahahahahahaha
lol
He looks like A train
Hes a mutant after all
@@tasibsharar7357 yeah he does 😂
One of the most talented sprinters of all time he also ran 10.00secs for 100m and 44.53secs for 400m.
That 100 time must be really frustrating for him
Random Guy Yes almost sub 10
Brazilian NR was 10.00 until some months ago. What Bolt ran as an adolescent 😂😭
Same for distance running... It's a shame, so many talents negligected and low oppprtunities
@@otaviorbs Bolt's best 100m was nonexistent til 2007 when he ran 10.03. He was 20 years and 11 months. Depending on who's criteria you go by, Bolt would have been beyond adolescence.
It's great to show us some great athletes and talents, who are not well known because of injurys.
Bolt slowed down in so many games. It Pissed me off a lot because I feel he'd have recorded even better records than he has now.
he was smart. figured he understood that if he shattered record beyond possible practicality... everyone would be extremely suspicious.
I was annoyed by it too.
@@ceasarcarcus391 suspicious? If you're insinuating drug use....yeah they got tests for that. Simpleton smh.
@@bradthompson5383 best u stfu he always pass his test with flying colors no need for drugs unlike america don't speak on what u don't know
@@bradthompson5383 i hope u repeat your quote for michael phelps
With a name like "Usain Bolt" no wonder he's fast
Insane bolt
Flash cries in darkness
3:19 Xavier and Usain are the same person
Why is he named after the citizens of the USA? You know, Kenyan, Hawaiian, USAin.
sonic bolt
Impressive last 50m...But as we see often, and as I was once told by a wise person, there are always many other athletes that could have been as good as the current champion, but never made it for whatever reason. It could be injury, motivation, an accident, or many other scenarios, that could prevent an athlete from achieving their true potential. Many things need to fall in line, for any athlete to truly reach their potential, and go on to achieve greatness.
Wise words my friend
Injury is the ennemy number One for an athlete ☢⚠️☢
He’s a beast! I love seeing him leave other’s in his dust💜 Still a champ Bolt
If someone beats the king usain bolt usain is gonna get his record back
How?
Not anymore he won't, not a chance he's retired and probably isn't training like he used to
Nobody is beating that record for Now
Not even
Hmm probably
When Xavier accelerated in the last 50 meters, it's like he pushed the "Turbo" button for power boost. Unreal!
Wow, you did a great job packing the information into an 8 minute 10 second mini documentary. That was impressive.
Gay started to slow down near the end, because he didn’t see Carter on the outside. This happens relatively often in sprints. I remember Frankie Fredericks did the same thing in a race running in lane 8.
Still, that last 50m kick was unbelievable. I usually see a 'third gear' sprint like that in rugby and football, but those athletes are competing against slower competitors. This guy hit a third gear in the middle of a ridiculous field, overexerting or not, he looked inhuman for a few steps.
@@benjamingardner3314 Unbeleaveble, bit not enough to beat Gay, if only he had seen the winner on time.
Why do the athletes slow down near the end? In Bolt's case he did it very often. Doesn't he want to be the fastest?
@@prasathlr Of course he does. Every athlete, every man has the urge to show the opponents that they can beat them with less power, by slowing down, dribbling them. Look at Ali. He danced in the ring in the fight for the title. I would, you would do it, if only we could.
He obviously Excelerated but when you watch it closely, his legs don’t seem to go faster. It’s almost like the others where being pushed back. Amazing!
Now I understand who made Usain Bolt as the GOAT. Its his motivation that he gets from multiple runners that had beat him. Justin Gaitlin... Xavier Carter... I can clearly see Usain Bolt's motivation for running.
Its always your rivals who pushed you to your maximum potential, not your enemies, not your friends. Its always the rivals. And now he is inspiring the younger generation to run even faster and try to beat his record 😌
Damn, we missed out on possibly an epic sporting rivalry between Carter and Bolt.
1:48 - "He's probably 3 - 5 metres ahead of anyone else" - he is about ONE metre ahead of Xavier Carter! And TWO metres ahead of Bolt! Nowhere near five metres ahead.
Prentis Hancock Yeah, Gay is great and was obviously ahead but clearly the gap was only 1-2 meters. Not even close to 3.
Bob Hayes ran 8.5 second 100m in the semi final of the 1964 Olympic games 4x100m relay
Its the fastest time of all time over 100m distance including the closing 50. Bolts best was 8.65. Hayes was capable of a 9.4 s 100m but never ran on a modern track which makes his 8.5 relay split even more impressive. He also ran faster than Bolt in the final of the relay with 8.6s
It would be great if this channel could do a feature video about Bob Hayes
Bob Hayes' time was actually 8.74 seconds electronic timing. That 8.5 was hand-timed.
What are you guys smoking? Nobody has ever run under 9.5 seconds for the 100m.
missinformation galore....do get your facts right. It was more like 9! not 8.5
@@andrewryan9087 Relay splits are faster than a 100m flat, because of the standing start. Relay 100m splits are regularly under 9s.
I feel like watching these guys play tag would be very entertaining
No one accelerates in the closing stages of a sprint race, everyone decelerates. Carter just decelerated much less than anyone else in that race, like Carl Lewis and FloJo.
XMAN WAS A BEAST MAN I MISS DUDE....HE WAS A GORILLA on the Track....XMAN We love you brother always have and always will...much love from ST LOUIS, MISSOURI.
omg my man got the finnish anouncing tape👏
Mannnn sucks to be Xavier
This dude seemed super promising
He was and still is the ONLY collegiate athlete to accomplish the 100m/400m double with times of 10.09 and 44.53 respectively
3:55 seems bobbing head back and forth like an ostrich is a technique that rly boosts your speed
I loved this video.
Tyson Gay let up a little at the end and that cost him the race.
Tyson Gay lol
FBI shut up 🙄
FBI i was gonna say that xD
@@speciti4751 haha
FBI 😂😂😂😂😂
This is a great video in his honour.
Love this tribute to the fallen athlete
Interesting turn of events in that race. Wondering if he never had the injury how would things have turned out for Bolt? 🤔
Just faster times...can't see him beating bolt in his prime, just pushing him like Gatlin and Blake
Wow , thanks for showing this.
This reminds me of the unfortunate career path of Noah Ngeny that you covered in a previous video. It makes me wonder how many other athletes would have achieved great things, if it weren't for injuries.
This is becoming my fav channel. Only found it as I was trying to find the name of a runner from Athens Olympic! Keep up the great work
Anyone here after Wallace Spearmon’s story?
he brought me here lol
Spearmon brought me here too😂
So many sports and athletic videos have titles like the greatest or the most phenomenal or unbelievable. This one actually would live up to such a title
There is something incredible about your voice!
Hmm pretty sure blakes 19.26 had a faster closing 100m and 50m
Michael Johnson 19.32 mustve been closed faster too because he didnt have the 100m acceleration
great video
1. Triple triple
2. 19.19
3. 9.58
Usain Bolt is the GOAT. There is simply none other. There can only be one.
Wow. That was interesting. Thanks.
Can you do videos on ultra running please
TRP does track&field and road races that features some of the big names in track. He speaks and breaks down these videos with thorough knowledge, he may not have knowledge of ultrarunning(the technical aspects, history, and the athletes)
It's happened to so many sporting stars through history.
Xavier Carter , Usain Bolt , Johan Blake just imagine these 3 on the same track
Me watching at 2x Speed: 👁👄👁
Opening: "Lausanne, Switzerland" *shows picture of Geneva*
The body goes where the mind commands.
Good job
with the music I was expecting there to be some sort of scandal, this is ok tho
Thats amazing 👍👍
Such is the life of an athlete but KUDOS to him for his time in the limelight.
0:33 wait WHAT?!?!
Wow thanks for sharing 👍
Great content, made my day. Hope you stay always blessed. Good luck for the next one.
As a swiss the way you say Lausanne is killing me XD But great video non the less
Might as well make this about Bolt. Heard his name from beginning to end.
Very nice and unexpected!
Matic Osovnikar from Slovenia among the best sprinters of all time!
XC was a legend football star as well down there in Palm Bay Florida.
Bolt's technique improved significantly too. That contributed ina big way.
Yo Einstein the city at the beginning was Geneva not Lausanne
Bolt looked over at X like damn, let me get my shit together cause he gone. 😂😂😂
Interesting that it's a Finnish announcer in the recording of the race.
Most likely the only good covering of the race, since the finnish national media (yle) clips and shares everything for free and does major coverage of track and field / athlethics
"Shifted gears"! Puts me in mind of the men's 1968 olympic 200m when in 5th or 6th place coming off the curve, it was almost as if Australia's Peter Norman shifted gears and was able to at the finish line, pass one of the fastest 200m runners at the time, John Carlos. Norman's last 100m is about as spectacular to watch as Tommie Smith's.
U.forget Usain had Jamaica's under 20 400m record and some of his 400 flat and relay times are amazing
It’s definitely the aerodynamic sunglasses
Those who don't get caught go on to greatness.
the way he runs is how i picture an ai killer robot chasing after me. just looks unreal
Carter didn’t accelerate in the closing 100m.
What do you mean????
Usain bolt the goat meaning greatest of all track and field the goat
0:06 That is not Lausanne, that’s Geneva.
The guy wearing the sunglasses had an aerodynamic advantage. It was the sunglasses
first time being first
Masterful
One could only wonder what is going through their head during the race. To see such a burst of speed and wonder where he summoned up that energy from. I feel like that question doesn’t get asked enough.
Michael Johnson's second leg record is still on. He ran the last 100meters faster than anyone till this day.
Can see clearly Bolt’s running techniques had improved from 2016. Esp.his high knee & stand taller to produce longer stride.
Bolt slowing down in the 100 meters 400 can you imagine if he ran all the way to the line his time would be incredible we would never know
Nice piece, re.: your opening aerial shot, I grew up in Lausanne, but have never seen this view of it. What river is this and what harbour is this?
Michael Johnson is like "plot Twist" Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson combined.
Why does that white guy even bother lol
Lol
I really think this Bolt guy has potential
🔥✊🏾And Now THAT RECORD EXSIST NO MORE!!!…N😉AH LYLES Has Taken THAT LAUSANNE RECORD DOWN TO 19.50secs…👊🏾

What do you think of my ranking? Any notable sprinters you think I forgot to mention? Any sprinter that shouldn't be on the list?
The list is purely based on accomplishment and results. It doesn't take into account what you did outside the sport

Brevard county legend💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Unfortunately this happens a lot. A lot of people also suffer career ending injuries much younger, because you'll never make the Olympics if you don't train for it, but only a few people in millions can handle that kind of training without getting injured.
People see talent I see hours of hardship and days of sweating under the sun
Hours lol
Greatest legend ever who is that?
Love it 🇿🇼
In the outside lane an all...damn
Tbf Carter ran the 9.27 with a running start, Bolt from the blocks, non comparable...
They both started from the blocks in every race what are you talking about? His final 50 meter assessment is still accurate.
And yes Bolt could have beat him in 2008 the final 50 meters he slowed down, but he didn't so we can basically say he could have but didn't.
@0:37 ma dude was READY.
*running with my Friends*
Dude compare second half of 200m with 100m. Really bizzare.
Although it's technical and tactical game, the "vitamin shots" play key role in those times. When athletes start to get close to the 90's steroid times, and suddenly gain inhumane muscular mass, it's not just "diet and exercise".
Didn't Xavier get arrested multiple times?
How come did you use the finnish sportcaster audio?
The host of this video sounds like he favored Xavier carter more than anyone.
