The chase theme at 4:30 was rearranged into the theme music for "The Heckle & Jeckle Show" on TV. Credit where it's due; composer Philip Scheib, who scored every Terrytoon from 1930 into the early 60's.
At the ripe old age of 46, I can still count on Heckle and Jeckle to give me a few good laughs! There are just some things in life that you can NEVER OUTGROW!
Ahhh the classic joy of one cartoon character hitting another on the head with a hammer. It's timeless.....We just don't get to see good stuff like this from cartoons anymore. I think I busted a seam laughing. LOL
Terrytoons, distributed by 20th Century Studios- same deal with Mighty Mouse. Now, if MeTV could add Terrytoons to its SatAM theatrical cartoon block, that would be a plus!!!
I recall watching "The Heckle and Jeckle Show" on TV as a kid in the 70s. It aired weekday afternoons on Channel 13 in Los Angeles. And a fast-paced tune from this very cartoon, at 4:29, was used as the opening theme music.
Thanks for posting, thought I'd never see this again. I was 8 when I first watched this cartoon. Loved it. thought they were vultures or crows. Nice to know they r magpies!
This, Bugs Bunny and shoot even the original Popeye were great to grow up with. I cant believe this was 20 years old when I was watching it. Try finding Baby Face Finster from Bugs Bunny. Classics all of them.
Christine Abruscato did you realize that Popeye is about a popped pineal gland. He knows I AM that I AM. He is anointed by olive oil, the olive is in the medulla oblongata and anoints the cerebrospinal fluid as it passes by. The can of Spin-ach always on hand to deal with Bluto the bully. The spin of the torus field is at the center all things. He is a sailor, he took the arc over to the right hemisphere of the brain, the spiritual side. The spiritual truths in a Popeye cartoon are hidden by the church. Religion creates confusion, uses fear, guilt and outright lies to control the people. Exit the church, enter the temple within.
I remember this one, but the censors cut out a part. The dog cop got hit in the face when they turned statue, and you hear Chinese gong, the dog turns Chinese with the Chinese rice picker hat, Shanghai music and has buck teeth, squintee eyes and a fu manchu while doing the little dance. They could never put these on today, they would have to cut the entire cartoon out
Haven't seen these since the early 60s, over 50 years. I used to watch them all the time. Until they were replaced with superheroes and politically correct cartoons.
@@kooarchived well I watched all the cartoons in the 70s and the 80s. Maybe you can refresh my memory, it definitely wasn't Bugs Bunny or Fog Horn Leg Horn.
And don't forget Looney Toons,Hanna Barbara,Tom and Jerry (the old ones)Popeye and the list goes on,the cartoons of today aren't even funny, kids just sit and glare at them.
I remember when the new Heckle and Jeckle cartoons were shown in the 1980's on Saturday mornings, they were terrible, they even came out with new Popeye and Tom and Jerry cartoons and they were awful too some times its better to just leave well enough alone.
I have the feeling kids today would laugh at the same cartoons I did 50+ years ago. It's the parents who would have a cow. No tag, no "monkey bars", no swings without restraints, no play at all without parental supervision. They turn out to be miniature adults, then revert to a lost childhood in their 20's. Too bad.
use to haveall these on vhs when they were released in the 90s as a kid. would love to own this and woody woodpecker and the cartoon where they loved pickles complete series on blu ray as well as many others
Like mocking native Americans with offensive stereotypes. Heaven forbid we stop that considering how funny it is... Oh who am I kidding? Those days aren't over at all.
It began just fine, then the racist depection of natives happened. I'll be fair and say there were great funny bits sprinkled here and there, but that doesn't make the offensive part disappear. Btw, if you don't like PC, stop being a snowflake and get over it.
The music in these old cartoons are so relaxing maybe it's nostalgia and it reminds me of being a young lad
Me 2 personally, back in 1989-1991 before I'd went to Gulfstream Elementary school on Ch. 33 #WBFS-📺.

Totally agree ,not like now very noisy

These original cartoons are priceless, good old times
Such beautiful artwork! I learned about music from all the cartoons. Bring them back for the children.
I watched this cartoon when I was a kid at 1980s.
Me too!
@@janellirving4625 Great!
Heckle, Jeckle, and Buggs... simply the best cartoons growing up.

Guess you never heard of Ren & Stimpy.

Paul Terry sold his company and library to CBS-TV and retired in 1955. They belong now to Paramount, who unfortunately have shown no interest in them.
These cartoons would be deemed too violent for this generation lol,but im sure there were no school shootings in 1947.
Saying you haven’t seen cartoons from the last three decades . WWI WW2 Korea Vietnam had a few casualties . The irony 🤔
Happy anniversary to Heckle, Jeckle, Clancy & Dimwit!

Dimwit's 'du-u-u-uhhh' still cracks me up.

Where can I buy a bottle of that Miracle Hair Growing Tonic?
The best cartoon to boot.
Holy shit this was great. I went from Spaghett to this. Loving it.
Haven't seen these since the early 60s, over 50 years. I used to watch them all the time. Until they were replaced with superheroes and politically correct cartoons.
Nice, pc vs non pc cartoons a big deal for sure.
I don't think there were politically correct cartoons back then. That didn't come until the 2000's where people cry over everything.
@@sandrogonzalez7567 Oh there were alot of them during the 70s and 80s.

How come no network airs Heckle and jeckle? This generation needs to know who they are

Idiots are praising dragon tales all day, while I sit here, and watch this.
Dang, no Woody Woodpecker and the classic Disney cartoons mentioned?
The kids that watched back then went on to create some of the most cutting edge cartoons of the past three decades !
Very nice cartoon

Saying you never watched cartoons from the last three decades😂
I grew up watching them along with Mighty Mouse, Courageous Cat & Minute Mouse & Underdog.
At that time my nation was free !!
Guess the nation name
teamwork makes a cartoon work
I was born ‘62 and these were my first cartoons , before I saw Looney Tunes
Classic shared to Media Factory Show TV on Facebook and Google+
God luv em! And the drunk stork delivering babies. They don't make cartoons like this anymore. Kids these days have no fucken idea.

Why does one magpie have an English accent, and the other magpie has a New York accent??😮😮
What's up with violence in cartoons?
+James Burke Why did have they watered down cartoons so much? We're so overly sensitive now to any sort of playful (ridiculous) humor.
James Burke ISO
What in samhill are you talking about, James? Every comedy cartoon I've seen has cartoon slapstick gags.
persistence
Unfortunately this would be construed as racist and politically incorrect today. Heaven forbid we have a sense of humor about people and things.
