Back in about 1984, I somehow found myself for an hour or so in JA's company. It was at a rather low-key closing night party at the Queens theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. We talked about her almost forgotten performance in "The Snow Goose" with Richard Harris, which is one of the most beautiful and haunting pieces imaginable. That was the first time I saw her act, and as I'd recently finished working with RH, we had some common ground. If you haven't seen it, I urge you to, it's on TH-cam, though not a great copy. I also told her about a train journey in about 1972 when my mate and I, who were both 11, clocked her in the buffet car of a London to Brighton express, and spent the entire hour daring each other to go and say hello to her, which of course we both flunked, and we had a laugh about that. She was as you see, utterly captivating, and that evening perhaps, glad to talk to someone different. It is a lovely memory, and one which I cherish.
Jenny Agutter is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! This is a very good interview. David Childs was very professional in the way he allowed Jenny to talk freely without interruption. There is nothing worse than when the interviewer keeps interrupting the person being interviewed.
As a long time follower of this so lovely and accomplished actress`s work, I found this a most interesting interview. Such a modest, articulate, intelligent, unassuming and likeable woman! Thank you, Colin!
Fantastic! I was on one of the studio cameras for this interview. Many fond memories of working with STOIC all those years ago. Nick Graham-Taylor Computing Science 1980-1984
Nope. It's not weird. She is a very attractive woman in all respects. Brains, beauty and kindness. I still have a crush on her since I saw her in Logan's run, and have much respect for her as a person...as much as s possible from media sources. She is classy and just draws one into wanting to know her. Alas, I am not a stalker and we've not (yet) met!
11:32 Watching her being unable to suppress a quiet internal smile from breaking out, to slowly spread across her face like a glowing heatwave of pride and achievement, was pure magic. "BAFTA Award-winning actress"....yes, Jenny. Yes.
My S.O. had only seen her in Call the Midwife. She said "I bet she's gorgeous when she's not wearing a habit." I showed her Logan's Run and that quickly proved it to her.
God, what a perfect woman: decorum, lovely speaking voice, and beautiful. Nobody speaks or carries themself like this anymore, and I think that is a sad development and speaks volumes about how society has degenerated in the last 40 years.
Jenny Agutter watching you today in THE RAILWAY CHILDREN fabulous Adore you in CALL THE MIDWIFE.. the best!!! Such a precious face Im a big fan from here in Australia. .so enjoyed this interview /21and in LA so adventures!!! Love you gentle voice... July 14th 😊❤
I've watched a lot of these interviews with her and it seems just about everybody, I mean everybody comments on how great her voice is, how that is a huge part of her beauty and it's true. It is amazing that all over the world, everybody agrees how beautiful she is, or was. I for one will never forget going to the movies in 1976 as a 15 year old and being just blown away by her and this was the era of farrah fawcett who was the goddess of boys right? farrah was in this movie but she did not compare to Jenny, not even close. Also loved her in the eye of the needle
I use to love Jenny Agutter when I was a schoolboy. Don't tell my Ma. Or I will be grounded for 6 months. She's so feminine. She just said her feet would be sore and bleed from dancing. I hate the idea that Jenny Agutter had to go through or be in any pain. Jenny I still love you. You left me many happy childhood memories. Thanks Love Paul xxxx.
Miss Agutter in her prime was a true English Rose, naturally beautiful and demure. Whilst by no means under rated, she could and perhaps should have been a Hollywood superstar much like Jane Seymour and Elizabeth Taylor. Still a legend, regardless.
Colin, excellent work! Do you have an exact date for this interview? I'm writing a making of book on AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and nobody can find the UK release date. If you have a day this was filmed on, I'll be able to work it out from there. Best Paul

Her face, her voice, her mind, her eloquence. THAT is a beautiful woman.
almost my exact thinking.
This woman transcends beauty. She's untouchable, perfection embodied.

that is a voice of an angel. She's appeared in so many legendary films also. Lovely woman.
I have been in love with Jenny Agutter for a little over 40 years!,. And I still am ♥️, she was a goddess back then, and she still is today. 😍
Jenny is such a delightful woman. Such a good actress. I have had a crush on her since I first saw Logan’s Run. God bless her.😘
Wonderful interview. Such eloquence and finesse

Nick Taylor Wonderful to hear from you Nick. I have a collection of STOIC people on Facebook so will see if you are on that.
I don't do Facebook I'm afraid. Twitter and google+. Are you still the big boss there?
HI Nick. No, took early retirement in 2011. See: wwwf.imperial.ac.uk/blog/videoarchive/
I could watch her and listen to her talk all night long.....I think I shall.
Wonderful actress and so refreshing to listen to the Queens's English
So missed in acting these days.
Is it weird to have a crush on her 35 years later? I fell in love with her in Logan's Run, and she's just as great in An American Werewolf.

“My pants feel funny” - [said in Ralph Wiggums voice, after watching her nude scene in Logan’s Run]
This was a great interview. The guy was a little stiff but he asked good questions and got a good response out of her. Thanks for posting this.
.
Beauty personified!!!
Jenny has a very sexy voice and is a highly intelligent woman.
She did a great job in American Werewolf in London.
So beautiful and and so eloquent.
Perfect enunciation. Perfect RP. Such an advantage in life, no matter what one seeks to achieve. Her raw and emotional intelligence are obvious.
RP?
RP - an abbreviation for Received Pronunciation
@@ColinGrimshaw Thanks : )
A rare beauty.
Jim Colyer I loved her in Child's Play 2. She was so sweet as the foster mother to Andy. I felt bad when she died.
11:32 Watching her being unable to suppress a quiet internal smile from breaking out, to slowly spread across her face like a glowing heatwave of pride and achievement, was pure magic. "BAFTA Award-winning actress"....yes, Jenny. Yes.
I love her as Sister Julienne in Call the Midwife...seeing this is a breath of fresh air ❤❤❤
My S.O. had only seen her in Call the Midwife. She said "I bet she's gorgeous when she's not wearing a habit." I showed her Logan's Run and that quickly proved it to her.
I still enjoy watching her in the 1977 "The Man in the Iron Mask".
Style grace and charm. Love Ms Agutter in every sense of thew word :-)
What a natural beauty 🌹

+Paul Davis Hi Paul. Our interview was shot in November 1981. The BBFC has the release date as 15 September 1981.
+Colin Grimshaw Hi Colin, the date on the BBFC site is the date it was classified for its certificate. The movie was released on the Friday of whatever week this interview was shot - which is why I'm trying to find out the exact date this was filmed.
Cheers

+Paul Davis I don't currently have the full details to hand because I'm out of the country at present. I'll see what i can find when I'm back in the UK.

+Colin Grimshaw Which I've now found out WAS the release date. Thurs Nov 12th. Cheers Colin 👍🏻
I dont get it why jenny agutter wasnt a bond girl, this girl has class, beauty, those eyes, especially with roger moore
too classy for bond
She's was so hot and sultry in Logan's Run.
BBC TV The Railway Children 1969.
The Railway Children 1970.
jenny agutter or diana rigg? who is better ?
Jenny.
Only 29 and already bags under the eyes... Speaks volumes. 'Walkabout' classic film.
Speaks volumes of what?
you must be blind
She's wife material
She's 29 in the interview ? Looks a bit.......
She's nicked my curtains!
***** I think she may have had them first :-)
No problem, we get the point you are making!
What a babe!
Aubrey Plaza looks a lot like Jenny Agutter
Good call. They could be sisters in facial similarities.
Walk about will be my exit to the world .
Cadgwith's finest!
what a cute nose :>
He didn't ask her the obvious question, "Tell me Miss Agutter, why in your film career have you always been so keen to get yer kit off??" 🤔
My guess would be because she's beautiful and was well compensated financially to show her body on film.
If that's 'the obvious question' to you, then I suggest you need to get out a bit more and socialise with real people.
Eeeeeeurgh!!! 👌💦💦
she is STILL pretty and so pleasant sounding. proper English gal. fantastic
