I just ate a sugar apple for the first time here in trinidad and tobago and I loved it. My wife and I will try to get some seeds to germinate before we return to the states. Hopefully when we return next year we'll have a small tree.
Excellent explanation. I am a transplant to Central Florida. I just got a handful of Sugar Apple seeds as our first step into fruit trees. I know, not a strong choice to start with but life is like a box of chocolates. That’s before your time but it is still relevant. I am surprised at the color of the native soil. Subscribed, La granja de Río Hondo.
Hi I hope ur doing well...I would like to thank you for ur video of farming, anytime I watch ur video it's give me a really good day...keep doing good work..
I just hope mine will flourish in the UK. Luckily, I have a South facing garden. Thanks for the heads up on how to plant the seeds cos I had them laying on their sides.
Excellent video. Thanks for the tips. I'm trying to germinate some atemoya seeds and anona. I want to grow then in pots. I live in Long Beach, CA. I believe it's zone 10b here.
I are you living in Florida? I notice that your channel is called Garden Florida. I would like to purchase one of those sweet apple plants from you. I live in Florida.
I have a seedling that has its leaves growing in two rows up its trunk. They are not set in different locations on the trunk, I am unsure what to do or if there is a pruning technique I can use on it?
so let me get this straight, if i take a seed out from one i got from the store and planted it will grow and bear fruit or they need to cross pollinate ? can they grow in southern ontario? and do they need large land like pawpaws?
You can grow one from a seed without another tree around for cross pollination. You can use the pollen from the same tree and flower to pollinate another sugar apple flower on the same plant.
@@gardenflorida awesome ok but if i only grow one tree from one seed it should self pollinate and give me some fruit? because sugar apples was a childhood memory fruit for me from back home where we had bigger ones than usual it had lovely white custard like flesh with black seeds, the question is can i actually grow one in say a large pot in my apartment on on my balcony here in toronto where i live and it will be good enough to bear fruit??
@@ARCSTREAMS I am growing one in Boston,USA in my apartment, I planted a lot seeds and thru the time a few starts developed it has been 2yrs and I end up with 4 plants now but now I am facing black leafs so I am looking for videos or articles about it to prevent them to die, But yes you can grow in your apartment
@@brocc6578 have any bear fruit so far? its funny over here where i live im now noticing a couple of wild raspberry trees that are fruiting next to my building i never had these before and wonder if someone planted them or it happened by mistake lol
Do sugar apple seedlings like wet feet? If I bought one and the leaves begin to droop and dry should I heavily water the pot or leave the soil dry and put in shade? Any help before these seedlings die on me?
I have a few that have germinated but the leaves have been stuck inside the shell/pod for weeks. Has this happened to you before? How would you get them out without injuring the plants? TIA
How come mine takes months to see it starting to sprout and seed shell still attached on the plant? Takes a year to see The height of your 4 your 6 week plant.
Hi. I live in Houston Texas. I planted the seeds. They come up beautifully and then one by one they shriveled up and died. I watered them everyday. What's wrong? Help me to save my seedlings. Thanks.

That isn't true native soil. He built this soil up or someone before him did. You can do the same thing in Central Florida.
Sugar apple is the perfect starter fruit tree

Hi, how long before it bears fruit.
I have a seedling that has its leaves growing in two rows up its trunk. They are not set in different locations on the trunk, I am unsure what to do or if there is a pruning technique I can use on it?
What to use to feed my anonnaceous seedlings the leaves are drying little by little
Nice video ! Thank you for your sharing. How long to take it to start fruiting?
They can germinate in under a month during spring conditions.
I believe 3-4 years before they bare fruit
Thanks. I'm going to try growing some. Do I plant the seeds right from the fruit, or should I let them dry out first?
Either way, the sugar apple seeds will still sprout. They can be dried or placed in water.
I love sugar apple . I've learned a lot, I wish I live in Florida so I can grow tropical fruit. Do you have any red sugar apple seeds for sale. Thanks
I will have red sugar apple seeds for sale within a month (when I harvest them).
Great video! I just brought back seeds from a delicious cherimoya I had in Barcelona a few days ago. Do you think the process would be the same?
Yes it would be the same process for cherimoya.
