I remember being school and learning 'Au Clair de la Lune' parrot-fashion with my twin brother when we were just five years old. This was under the tutelage of a student-teacher, 'Miss Aitchison', who insisted we learn this even though we did not understand a word of French and just felt embarrassed reciting incomprehensible sounds. Now, finally, you have shown me the French words written down and I can understand what they mean having in the meantime studied French. - They were totally different words to what I remembered even though the recording made exactly the same sounds I learnt. I now realise that this was a ridiculous way to learn a foreign language. 🙃 P.S. I recently came across, (for the first time), the written words to the 'Singing Nun' song 'Dominique' from the '60's and found exactly the same problem. (It always sounded like 'Domineeker-neeker-neeker' to me!).
POV the call of duty lobby 😂
