Gary, thank you so much for the lovely comment! It took us a long time to figure out that this is the best way for us to travel (we have been traveling for about 6 years now). But we learned as we went on and realized that if we really want to know a country, then we have to open our hearts and minds and also have trust so that good things could happen. It sometimes takes a bit of courage to trust a total stranger or to go on a road that is definately not meant for campervans, but it usually pays off and if it does not, at least we have a good story to tell 😁

I also visited Kapadokya both in winter time and summer but seeing this familiar places from your eyes was also beautiful l just want to make an addition. In the video ( 10:15 ) you said first Christians build it, to avoid Turks. first Cristians came this land around 3. Century Selçuk Turks came there in 11th century so those caves aren't built for avoiding Turks they build them for avoiding Roman Empire. (That time romans aren't Cristians) Before Romans in bronze age (as far as l remember) Hittites were the ruler of area and afterwards Armenians Araps and Persians and of course Turks lived/ rulled or tried to concurred. This is what l know l wish you the best 😊🥰👋 but l am amazed by your videos quality.

Hey! Every time when we go somewhere, I read out loud about the history of the place to myself and Joe. This one was a bit of a boo-boo because when saying those things, he went by the memory of me describing why Kaymaklı was built, associated with the Arab-Byzantine Wars between 780 and 1180. Yes, turks was the wrong word to be used. But he also said "other enemies" that in my eyes sure did cover the Romans and in that way it does not loose the main idea of it being a hideaway 😊. But thank you for pointing it out. We really wouldn't want yo spread wrong info here 🙃
