Funny. Up to this point I'd never known the context for the lyrics being the Esoteric History anime (which I assume makes the song be sung by Sanae's elderly sister in this case). I'd originally read this song to be sung by a living member of sisters/a couple as well, who made the promise that they would be together until they both died; and that promise was broken by, well, dying. And so for example, the "hands that help guide you to that distant realm" would be like those that you've touched letting you pass on in peace, and that sort of thing. No doubt that this was RD's intention though, RD-Sounds songs are like that.
I feel like the world needs to see lyrics. This sounds like Sanae has hardships and then gradually works it’s way to a good ending (In my case, Good Times, Hard Times (at least in my ears))
Agree. I wish there was a English translation for this song. Kinda feels like this song is based on Sanae and her travel through Gensokyo and the Human world.
Imagine the emotions and thoughts she had to face. To go from somewhere- no some....world(?) you've lived your whole life, and then you come to Gensokyo, the world that lies beyond common sense. And despite all that, she is still able to put an honest smile on her face. I think that takes a special type of strength....
Now that I think about it... after watching the episode “properly” this song is kinda like the timeline of sanae and yayoi. And probably somewhere in the Lyrics how she longed to she sanae. No idea but that’s my theory I can also see a yoo version happening sometime. (Seeing as she sung the Live version at the ShanghaiTouhou only concert)
The first time i heard this, I just went on with the music since it's good. But when I turned on the sub just minutes ago... I could not find any words to describe it...
So from reading the translated lyrics... - It sounds like the person she’s singing to is dead. “You’re in a God’s body now.” - The “distant world” is likely Heaven or the afterlife. “I’ve prayed for you to be there.” - The promise they failed to keep could have something to do with them staying safe or ending up alright. - She’s obviously still alive, and despite the subject breaking their promise, she gives them permission to go to Heaven and wishes them well. All of this (especially the line “Don’t cry, it was the right thing to do, you belong there.) suggest to me that whoever she’s singing to, died to protect her or in some other heroic act, so she can’t hate them since it was a noble death, even if it means they broke their promise. And now I’m crying. :(
Well... not far off. The relevant setting detail is that the relevant spiritual/mystical terms should be taken absolutely literally: Kochiya Sanae has become a living god, living in Gensoukyou, the Capitol of Illusion that is the last refuge of magic and miracles and gods. Kochiya Sanae has become a living god, so there's no place she belongs to more than Gensoukyou.
What is sung in this song? Friendship? Love relationship? Affection of mother(patients)? At first I'm sure that this is a so-called love song. But, I think gradually it is about Patient's affection. Nevertheless, There are still some ambiguous points. For Example, I cannot understand that lyrics of the head「共に産まれ出で, tomo ni umare i de, Born together」. What is that? Does it mean that Sanae is Twin? Does anyone know what it is?
This is from the soundtrack of the fanime Sealed Esoteric History's second episode. Sanae has an older sister in the outside world in the fanime, and this song is sung from her perspective.

Pretty sure this is Yayoi's message to Sanae

bring me back to my high school years...... so emotional
The first time i heard this, I just went on with the music since it's good. But when I turned on the sub just minutes ago... I could not find any words to describe it...
This reminds me the anime......
YAYOI!!!SANAE!,!😭😭😭😭😭😭
So from reading the translated lyrics...
- It sounds like the person she’s singing to is dead. “You’re in a God’s body now.”
- The “distant world” is likely Heaven or the afterlife. “I’ve prayed for you to be there.”
- The promise they failed to keep could have something to do with them staying safe or ending up alright.
In the fanime they gave Sanae a sister, Yayoi. The song's from that sister's point of view.
@@ailius1520 Ah ok. I know nothing about Touhou- I was just analyzing what I got from the song.
Well... not far off. The relevant setting detail is that the relevant spiritual/mystical terms should be taken absolutely literally: Kochiya Sanae has become a living god, living in Gensoukyou, the Capitol of Illusion that is the last refuge of magic and miracles and gods.

this makes me cry
