This is a very well behaved cat! She sat there so patiently and allowed the groomer to shave her and give her a bath. I felt a little bad that she had to lose all of her fur.😔
It was such a beautiful kitty BEFORE the grooming 😭

It was probably matted which is the only reason to do this.

I was very surprised how relaxed the cat was with all those dogs coming in and out and the loud children in the background.
Cats can be very sensitive to such things, but this guy did a fantastic job being very brave and patient.
What a gorgeous cat, love the fluffy paws and she (?) is so good during her groom. I have a fiesty tri coloured tortoishell that won't let you touch anything except a brush through with a slicker on her terms......
I have a torti too who is very fiesty, especially when it comes to touching her! I can only pet her if she's in a good enough mood, and only when she requests it too - brushing her is near impossible

Why clip off al this cats fur? It’s a terrible thing to do when it’s obviously not matted! Drugging it for grooming is wrong 😡
That cat was definitely sedated before coming in… no way any cat would just calmly sit there like that.

@@fatihzorkun looks to be elderly, & probly been done ma y times. If start grooming early as kittens, most will enjoy it. Long haired Persians show cats get bathed , brushed, quite often, & just lay as this one .

Why cut off all his fur? I have a cat that looks similar & he sheds his coat in the summer. I’ve never cut his hair. He’s an inside outside cat & he’s always clean. He does a pretty terrific job grooming himself. I’m just curious.

Cats are desert animals so why shave them and not just brush out their fur to get rid of mats. Fur insulates against cold and heat. Nice kitty though, well behaved.

I have a cat just like this one and she absolutely hates being brushed I have had to resort to shaving as well at the vets. This cat was definitely tranquilised..
Must be a ginger cat thing, my two gingers were the same way. I would show them the shaver and they would come running, plop down, then try to argue with me to continue massaging the side I already shaved. They loved getting the tips cut off every summer. My new set of cats I have two with super short hair, two short hair, and one long hair. We want to shave the long hair but none of them have ever been shaved, so we are thinking she may fight it.

I always wondered about the ear cleaning though. It's deep cleaning but the cat seemed unfazed. 😃

Here in Fla ... I have short haired cats, & I shave them down for summer,. dry faster , after baths, & is easier for seniors to clean selves..

Cats are not suppose to have their fur shaved off. A bath and a trim ok, but not shaved.

Generally, cats shouldn't be groomed, they usually keep themselves clean! Hugely well behaved cat. 😻
It did not work that way for me. I had a Russian Blue and he required grooming otherwise lots of matting.

I got a long haired from a relative , bc he was not using litter box
Been abt 2 mos now, couldn't get near him w/ comb/ brush. Every day showed him food dish, & let him eat, & tried clippers, when was eating did little clipping, till got intolerant, & started growling, swatting, & let finish food
Every day for a mo. did same, now can maybe do half, at a time, patience,..
Still can't bathe, so use spray on shampoo..

According to Master Cat grooming rules, cats should be shaved in a 10 reverse, and paw pads NEVER shaved unless absolutely necessary (aka removing matting).

You can tell by that carrier that the owner really loves that cat!
The only thing by an expensive carrier that you can tell is that the owner has too much money and does not care that grooming a cat is a crime. Cats with long coat shed their undercoat in the summer, the rest they have to keep for insulation against the heat. The the cat is much too fat, it should loose weight. So no, the owner has not the best interests of the cat in mind but his own. He/She is probably fed up with having to clean the house because of the shedded hair flying around, or with giving the cat its daily brushing. If they don‘t want to do that they should not have a cat with long coat.

I keep trying to find grooming videos and ending up just seeing animals being shaved. If its shaving the video should be called cat shaving not cat grooming. If you take your cat to a professional groomer they dont come out shaved!
That car was too well behaved. She was hugging the table the entire time and showed little aggression while being shampooed and blow dried. Definitely on some kitty happy drug.

You should never shave a cat, deshedding is what should have been done! Also shaving the paws shaves off a whisker and the fur is padding. This is what you should NOT do to a cat!

Many cats, dogs get groomed/ shaved under sedation at vets, bc are impossible to do, nothing illegal, u can get sedatives on Amazon,.

My 2nd would have been pretty good at the groomers. He did loved to be petted everywhere on his body. He would have purr and even rubbing against that person.
