As a kid it was always my dream to be with Dean guitars, to play a
Dean guitar - to own one some day. And funny enough, how this whole
thing evolved, after countless days of skipping school and gawking at
the Dean catalog, learning inside and out everything about it, and
dreaming it would happen some day. There was a guitar contest that came
to town, and the a prize was the Dean ML guitar, and at the same time - I
didn’t know, my dad ordered me a cherry burst Dean ML Standard. The day
when that thing came in was the night of the contest - and I won it!
That was the best day of my life. I won the guitar, and my dad got me a
    bad-ass fu**ing Dean standard.

Man, I remember back in like 2007. Had a job working night shift at Walmart. Had called out because I was hungover and ended up drinking more beer to calm my nerves. Had scraped together some weed to smoke. I was feeling blazed and was watching this video and the breakdown at 2:53 just fucking BLEW my mind. I don't know what to say, it was just insane. Anything this physically demanding takes it's toll even on young guys (think the average retirement age in the NFL is 28) much less on into your 30's, 40's and 50's or beyond like many rockers. Dave Mustaine has been quoted as saying he sometimes regrets writing songs hopped up on coke during the Holy wars era...too hard to play these days.😂

For about 5 years they were the best live metal band on earth. Their live show in Russia proved that cuz all the other greats were on that same stage and couldn’t hang.

I wouldnt say that, metallica matched pantera that day, but as metallica declined a lot years later, pantera kept going heavier and tighter. I guess , just after james blew his voice, lars and kirk turned sloppy and lazy, newsted was the only one to mantain the performance and got kicked out lmao

Dimebag. There will never be another like you. You left us too early. Much love for all the great memories your music gave me. Phil, Rex, Vinny you know I love you guys too. Pantera couldnt be Pantera without all of you. It was the ultimate accumulation of dark rum and dark thoughts. A Black Tooth Grin sporting a Mind within the Cemetery Gates.
