Xu Xin is actually short-sighted, wearing glasses when not playing table tennis. He only started to wear contact lenses in 2017. Can you imagine how he played before that? It's pure talent.
Xu Xin might not be the GOAT. But he's for sure the most entertaining player in the 21st century so far. Every sport needs a player of this type, and he will for sure be missed when he retires.
I would say that Joo Sae Hyuk is also one of the most creative and entertaining players of all time. And Simon Gauzy is the most similar player to Xu Xin since his retirement.
And there is a new Chinese chopper who was trained by ma long at some point named Sun Yang, and if he manages to keep up the grind and grow to the highest level, might be a contender for the most entertaining player.
3:51 is one of the greatest moments in TT. The sync between Fan and Xu Xin is crazy, stupid spin on the ball, and Fan knows exactly when to move out of the way while still crossing the balls path. Unreal.
Going to miss Xu Xin so much when he retires. He adds so much entertainment value to the sport... really one of a kind and I wonder how long before a similar star will emerge. TT needs more penhold/ RPB players to increase its spectator value
The last point is absolute ridiculous. Can't keep count of how many 'round the net shots they made just in that one point. And how they returned the ball into the table is just beyond crazy.
@1:30 Seen many times but I still can't forget the devastation look from Harimoto, woah! Xu Xin's definitely the first, might be last exciting & entertaining TT player.
Please keep this clip on FOREVER. Timeless piece of wonderful edition of exciting, entertaining sport. Much appreciated for your honorable effort. Regards from Sydney down under.
Have downloaded it anyways. Glad I watched Xu Xin. Am a very proud penholder now. Very interesting and inspiring to watch. Am very very proud of you. u made my day Xu Xi
You don’t understand how insane the shot at 1:19 is. It was a micro flick spin while taking a spin in the opposite direction while threatening a smash. 🤯
2019 Qatar Open, mixed doubles final with Liu Shiwen against Ito/Morizono. 3rd set, leading 7:3. That point gets me everytime. Too bad it ain't here. Still a very nice compilation.
Back then, i thought that Xu Xin only got to the world stage by luck as the only times i have seen him was him losing against fanzhendong. But now, i can surely say that he can win against fzd.
I’m trying to convert to Shakehand. Even with RPB, the 2 rubbers make the blade heavy. Gripping with thumb and index finger, you fatigue faster against shakehand in tournaments.
@@DaigoParry took me a while to find the most relaxed RPH grip but after you find it... Is even less tension than shakehand - everybody is different tho ( probably took 30hr of playing for fun before I found it )
I am an rpb player, I switched to penhold when I nearly gave up on tt after months of getting nowhere with shakehand. I can say I'm enjoying it 100 times more now, and my game improved drastically, the backhand is addicting (;
the most entertaining player from each sport: Football have Ronaldinho Basketball have Curry Badminton have Marcus / Kevin Tennis have Federer Table Tennis have Xu Xin 🔥🔥🔥🔥
To me top level TT looks much more difficult and skillful than tennis. I don't know why tennis so much more successful than TT around the world. Any ideas?..

that's crazy
i mean it shouldn't really affect him as he can see things close by clearly, i guess he may struggle in those smash rallies but dunno

Ma Lin is also quite entertaining
He is the goat of doubles. Koki Niwa is also very entertaining.
@@bryanwells4063Joo is an ornamental and strong but not a same level player. We are talking about champion level ones

He's training 7+ per day from childhood till now.
@@rimondschein9075 Still, it's one in a million ball, which they were not prepared for, even with their 7+ training per day.

Yep he adds so much drama to the game. Many unbelievable moments.
Joo Saehyuk was the same way, love these two they are my all time favorites
@@bryanwells4063Joo Saehyuk in my opinion only knew how to chop block, but Xu Xin is more interesting.
I'm so sad he left, borderline melancholic actually . Felix is pretty good but not nearly as fun to watch
Players like Xu Xin bring people to the game. People watch to be entertained and Xu Xin is an absolute trickster in the pro scene.
Man I missed this guy. Remembered the 2019 era XX. He was unstoppable! Xuperman, cloudwalker!
we all miss him
The last point is absolute ridiculous. Can't keep count of how many 'round the net shots they made just in that one point. And how they returned the ball into the table is just beyond crazy.
@5:56 Jun's reaction is truly respectable with that smile, admiring Xu Xin's skill despite losing the point.
Sportsmanship. Unlike quite other players
1:03 you can hear how excited Adam is when Xu pulls off the snake! 🐍
hahahaa yeah so funny

there are many great players, but he is the most talented and creative.
Even not a ping pong player. I love to watch this kind of match. So entertaining. Thanks.

thats why i love watching xu xin
The reason he is called the ARTIST ❤️🔥

4:01 Look at how Fan Zhengdong prepares for the next shot before even the ball makes its way back haha
不论打输了任何场次 你在昕迷的心目中 永遠都是#1👍
打得我拍手叫好。
1:18 baffles me the most, I've seen plenty of good snakes but the motion looks so fluid I cannot comprehend how he got the ball to spin that way
Same here bro😂
adam makes table tennis more great . thanks adam!

No retirement for Xu Xin, he is invaluable to the Chinese team.
满场跑最后还能拿分哈哈哈看他举起手指的那一刻太欢乐了
This guy is a master at the game. He looks invincible in this video.
Xu xin is totally an unmatchable player. He has his own skills. He is really a great player undoubtedly. 👏
The people’s artist
He is No.1 in Ping-pong history for me
That rally at 10:58 might actually be the best table tennis rally I've ever seen.

5:01 the amount of skill and power and aggression these two absolute TT gods have...
people like me don't really care who win, I just want to get entertained and xu xin fit for this job
Xu Xin entertainment table tennis 🎉
thats why i want to switch to playing penhold. this looks way more fun.
But is difficult with the backhand but the forehand gets realy good with this grip
you can make incredible spin shot

That whole rally at 3:07 made me scream
I don't know who has put more sidespin on the ball, Xu Xin or Hou Yingchao. There probably are other sidespinners that I can't remember.
