I think the common thread with the songs I like is that their almost isn't one, but if I had to indentify something it would be moody tone, cryptic lyrics, and an emotionally captivating feel...most of all a lasting impression. I go back to these albums and still find escape.

it is beyond me how Deftones keeps all their albums fresh. each has it's own distinguished sound to it. it may of got softer but i think it's still amazing music

I'm not religious either, but when the well-being of good people is at stake, I am more than eager to pray (to whoever/whatever force can hear it and help). The good news is that, although very slowly, but still, Chi's condition seems to improve daily, bit by bit. :) I'm sure he'll be with us again in no time!

But he also whispers and moans...in some songs he has this strained sort of voice, like he's on the verge of getting something he really wants... I dunno man, it's just so passionate. I love both but Chino is the only singer who seems to be able to warp/slow down time with his soulful voice; it makes you feel like you are flying. He puts everything into every note (on record, live is a different story) which is one of the reasons why Deftones are awesome. I love driving fast to this song!
