So, I think the screen freezing happens because there are too many objects on the screen. Each one generates some render commands and at the end of the frame, the game adds a "swap buffers" command so that you can actually see the result. But there are so many, the GPU doesn't have time to finish them all, and so never actually displays the next frame until you get some objects off the screen. If you keep going, I think the render commands will actually overflow their buffer and corrupt the graphic data that happens to be nearby. So those dashes you see are a zillion render commands to draw the contents of the room a zillion times; the command data has actually overwritten some texture and model data, but not quite enough to crash. I'm not totally sure, but that's most likely what happens there. I doubt you can do anything useful with that overflow (like open debug menus) without crashing though.
Somehow the playback speed got set to 0.75 (probably when my dog decided to put his head down on my laptop) and I was watching the video for awhile like "is zfg okay? He sounds a bit drunk"
The glitch I'm going is heart piece duping th-cam.com/video/ruDwBfCHQLQ/w-d-xo.html , but the frozen screen and glitchy textures is just a side effect of doing it so much that the game starts to struggle.
When you exit a zone, the engine unloads all the actors in the room. In Lost Woods, because instead of doors you just have chokepoints to walk through, the trigger to clear the old actors and initialise the new ones is uncoupled. If you escape the room and get behind the loading zone, you can walk in and out of the trigger that initialises the actors to spawn in without tripping the trigger to clear them, so you can infinitely duplicate the actors in that room. Eventually, it causes a buffer overflow, where there's no more room in the buffer to write new actors to memory in the designated locations and their data starts getting written to locations in memory adjacent to the buffer, containing other types of data, which is read as garbage data when the program tries to parse it because it's "expecting" different inputs. It's like if you ran out of room while writing a report, and proceeded to finish it by writing it over the top of all the other paperwork on your desk. So then, when someone comes past to collect that ruined paperwork and use it, it makes no goddamn sense and any work they do based off it will be wrong.
Imagine doing a crazy strat to get long shot from behind, warping back to the entrance of water temple, then NOT using long shot to get to the boss room even though it’s faster

I believe it's just the duping, and yeah, you can only really do a single bomb hover in 3D (which is really difficult), so it requires a hookshot jump
