This man has had a lot of hardship when he was young.
I have a 15 year old son. He is the most important person in the world to me.
He gets good grades in school, he's in JROTC(which he loves), hes got a job, he loves animals and people. He's a great kid, and i couldnt be more proud.
Him and i have recently started going to the gym. Im tall and skinny(6'4", 200lbs). My son is 6'2", 290lbs(he's a giant). I think hes got great genetics for body building.
After watching this video, ive come to one thought.......
Years after im gone, i hope my son will talk higher of me than this man talked about his dad!!!
Im not saying he dosnt have a great reason to say bad things about his dad, he obviously does. I just pray that im a much better father, even with all my faults.
    God bless!

I'm 60 years old and still train the old school way. "Just Weights" as Tony says. You can definitely see the difference in the physic of one who trains years with free weights vs. one who utilities a variation of training their body.
    Great interview Tony!👍

It’s great to see a genuine star from my youth looking so healthy and positive. In the early 80s we had only muscle mags to form an opinion of what a star bodybuilder was like. Tony Pearson always came across as a really nice person in interviews, I remember his image transformation in 1983, just a few years after winning the Pro Mr. Universe, with a new hair and nose job 😂 he really looked like the Michael Jackson of bodybuilding, well at least for a few years before the crazy pop star lost his marbles and skin colour 😂 Pearson couldn’t have been more different than Bertil Fox, a contemporary of immense proportions, tipped as a future Mr. O, but who came across as egotistical and acidic. It didn’t surprise me that Fox ended up incarcerated for a horrible double murder.
Pearson was a superb pro and had one of the greatest shoulder to waist differentials ever seen. But I remember his high calves and short muscle bellies weakness didn’t get him far at the Mr. O. Still at 63 years old, he is a great example of a bodybuilder who did things the right way, the winning way 🏆

    • @AC-mp7cx

bruh he doesnt even remotely resemble Michael Jackson. Stop disrespecting Michael. stop

    • @Pulsonar
      @Pulsonar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@AC-mp7cx No disrespect, that was the common concensus at the time, Pearson was touted as the Michael Jackson of bodybuilding after he did an image makeover. Look it up in the old bodybuilding mags of the early/mid 80s. It isn’t just me saying that, In fact ironically I thought he looked more like MJ as a kid, before either of them had surgery. Pearson was gambling on that lucrative image transformation to boost his career. I remember reading that he was unhappy with his looks and was concerned his career had flatlined a little in both single and mixed doubles bodybuilding shows. He did the nose job and hair and voila, they latched on to that MJ resemblance thing.

      The ROIDER'S plan book:
      1. HIDE the STEROID use. Don't ever bring up STEROIDS. LIE & DENY their use when asked. If that doesn't work, go to plan 2.
      2. DOWNPLAY STEROIDS. Tell people STEROIDS doesn't do anything. If that doesn't work, go to plan 3.
      3. COMPARE STEROIDS to other UNHEALTHY things ie. ALCOHOL, CIGARETTES, ETC... "Try" and JUSTIFY using them. If that doesn't work, go to plan 4.
      4. Call them names & CURSE at them.
Even if you admit to using STEROIDS, you still have FAKE muscles and FAKE strength!

I saw Tony win the 78 AAU Mr. America in Cincinnati. That was the year Ron Tuefel came in in his best shape ever and was supposed to win. Also, Tom Platz knocked everybody out with his awesome leg development. Tony absolutely deserved his great win that year. It is very satisfying to see he is still doing so well.

Funny story. Attended a Pearson seminar at a small gym here in Ontario Canada (Stoney Creek) way back in the mid eighties and got a autographed photo of him, when He asked my name I said Mike and he spelled it Milk! Great seminar though. He had one of the greatest midsections in bodybuilding similar to that of Serge Nubret or Ron Teufel.
