With the injuries to Cov, Melt, and then Biid, that was essentially the end of real contention. They’re in a good spot, despite having to watch Boston waltz to the finish after their charmed season.
Nurse had a great base offensive system. Didn't adjust well.
For example, they had a very quick pace earlier on in the season. When Joel went out, instead of playing quicker and giving Buddy and others a shot to create a dominant offense until Joel got back. They play slower and had a decent defense, but the offense was disgusting.... Not playing to their strengths.
Not to mention Tyrese was already hurt by then, as was Tobias, because of the over usage earlier... The poor ceiling was why they missed the 2nd round unlike they ever did with Doc Rivers
Nick Nurse ran Joel and Tyrese into the ground to start the year. Not only does the world need to play at a lower weight, But he needs a lower usage and to be more of a decoy on both ends.
Can he go back and NOT let Butler go? No? Ah well
If Iam the Sixers match talent with Boston, Embiid-Tatum, Maxey-Brown, Holiday- trade/Caruso, White-trade Atlanta- Hunter, Porzingias- Toppin Bench- Sixers- Oubre, Batum, Monk, trade with Atlanta Capella, sign Chris Dunn - this can be done, please comment
Other than Embiid/tatum the Celtics player is better in all of the comps
@@JFP95 my goal is to create a total team, which is what needs to happen. Maxey is definitely on his way to be on the level of Jaylen Brown. Caruso is a player I would say gives you Holiday energy and play. Hunter on the sixers could elevate his game like Derrick White. Toppin, I chose him because he is a free agent and we could afford him if we go the build the total team. Monk is the key, he gives that scoring Porzingias gives.
@@ivanvassall7377 respectfully I disagree. You are completely discounting the fact that all of bostons main rotation are two way players.
I love maxey and he is amazing, but just because of his size he will never have the two way impact of JB (although could pass him offensively). Jrue is significantly better than Caruso offensively. And how do we even have all these trades happening? We don’t have the assets to make all of the trades you laid out, we could get one done maybe but that’s it.
@@JFP95 What are your ideas????? I never said Caruso was as good as Jrue Holiday but we need someone with that kind of energy and defense grit. We can make the trades because with have the draft choice capital and we can sign the free agents with our cap space. Criticizing me for my team building ideas is easy. What do you got to say. What two way players can we get to build the SIxers then????????
@@ivanvassall7377 first off I just wanna say I’m not trying to say your ideas are dumb. I just think you have lofty expectations for what moves they can make.
I don’t have many ideas lol I never claimed to. Your post said “this is how the sixers match up with the Celtics”. We only have 5 tradable picks and I just think your expectations are a bit lofty for what we can acquire with them. Hell, Caruso most likely costs you two of the picks alone.
I don’t have many ideas because the sixers don’t have a ton of flexibility and that is just the reality of the situation.
Out of the players you listed I would be most interested in Caruso and Deandre Hunter for their 3&D potential and they are both smart players that know when to cut off ball. Hunter has the size to cover some of the wings in the league and Caruso is elit POA defender. However just getting those two guys likely costs the sixers all of their draft capital. It’s a tough situation to be in and it’s the penalty you pay for the sixers trying to go “all in” too many times.
