Wow that template you're using is really nice. Incorporates a lot of the scratch work I also do each week but yours is much prettier. Another awesome lesson - excited for this series.
Thank you so much for your videos. I've recently started playing at Church and learning that I can play the major shapes as extensions for the minor chords has be very insightful!!
These videos are soooo helpful. Thank you 😊. We're a small church only just considering introducing electric guitar for the first time, so appreciate the simplicity of explanation and the demos. Any tips on what first pedals or amp to get would be great video idea....❤
I'm always amazed when I see musicians on stage at church in their reaching up to flip pages on their iPad. The songs are so repetitious I never see the need for it and obviously you prove that here.
This is what I was most interested in seeing: the pre-process. You could expand on this with a dedicated video. What is that cool paper you had your notes on?
It's a good approach to applying triads over a pop-based worship song. How would you apply it over an older song, especially an old hymn that could use a rocking refresh?
Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier. I think this is more a matter of rearrangement, which is really something the whole band needs to be in on. I would LOVE to do a course someday on this topic. Stylizing songs in new ways is one of my favorite things.
If you don't want to play in the actual key, look for a key below that as a potential capo key. Every half step lower you go from your original key is one fret.
Bro would you be willing to make a patreon for song requests to do this for?? Doesn’t have to be super detailed Or do you think your chord book PDF would be all I need to be able to figure out any song I wanted?
This guy has helped me so much. For years electric has been just a mystery to me as I grew up an acoustic player. He seriously helped me so much
That's great to hear!

Awesome! Keep me posted on how it's going!
For a deeper understanding of what’s going on just look up the CAGED system, this is the basis for the ACE triad with more shapes.
Thanks CJ, I love the practical application of your earlier lessons with a song lesson. Do more songs, Love the video idea
Thanks for the feedback!
I love how you draw this out! I use this technique for slide guitar with A shapes, but I like how you do this with c shapes. Thanks!
Glad to see it's transferable!
This IS EXACTLY what I've been looking for! Slower speed I need. Pretty picking pattern, let the fender sparkle.
Tele forever!
i love these voicings man! amazing work on this lesson
Glad you like them!
So helpful to see how you approach a song.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
hi i appriciate your effort to teach us in music ministry specially in electric guitar

So helpful, thank you! Will you do any content about worship guitar tone in the future?
Yes, soon!

So glad they're helping! I'll def think through some ideas for a pedals and amps video. Thanks!

Yeah for sure! With a little bit of training people can graduate from the "Chord Chart Zombie" phase and simplify things.

Yeah, I’ll be walking through this process with this sheet in my new class coming out in January. I’ll be announcing it soon.

Question: how did you determine that you needed to capo on 3 based on the key signature? Thanks!
If you don't want to play in the actual key, look for a key below that as a potential capo key. Every half step lower you go from your original key is one fret.
The smirk at 7:54 and on says it all ..... this is too easy 😅 ...... which is the point. Easy and sounds great.
yessir!
hi what is the name of the application that your using to note your chords and numbers
I created the chart i'm using. But I'm just screenwriting in Photoshop
Great
So awesome ! I just don’t understand why you use certain shapes or what makes them shapes is it the bar chord shape?
Good day bro..do you have a pdf or template of your chart form..tnx..God bless
Yes, I’ll have this chart available through my new class coming in January. I’ll be announcing that soon.
@ tnx a lot bro..God bless
What guitar is this???
are triads and inversions the same?
An inversion is a certain way of playing a triad

We could connect online for a coaching session and I could walk through some songs if that would help. Cj@dontgiveup.pro
