    Thanks for the vid. I started using this lanyard method a while ago but switched when you first mentioned the Odyssey clips in an earlier TH-cam - these are brilliant swivel clips. My only variation is to reverse the clip on the back - so you only need one split ring and the hook clips onto the end. Thanks again.

    Just went for my first tailor fish today. Didn't have any luck but i've used your videos as a guide to get the right stuff and find the right spots, so, thanks for helping me get started.

    A great series of videos. How far do you usually aim to cast when beach fishing? Thank you!

      As far as possible haha! If I'm fishing reef I want to be able to cast at least to the back of the reef drop off or along side it. Not sure in metres as never measured but want to get 50m or so

    Great vid. do you know where I can get one of these lures and assist hooks, also what rod do you use for surf casting lures. Cheers

      Thanks mate! I use an assasin spin tech or my abu garcia veritas both 9 foot. For the lures you can get them at getaway outdoors balcatta or tackle west. The wire assist hooks are at both store also i think mate

    Hey mate, just ordering some hooks, what size single hooks and what size assists do you change out to? cheers

      2/0 or 3/0 single hooks mate. If wired assist same size if your adding assists to a trebbles then I add size 1 or smaller 👍

    Great video mate. Do you have any locations you recommend to start? I've never managed to catch one.

    • @DangasTackleTips

      North of burns and including burns beach is a good place to start. If closer to south between cott and freo is good spots to start 👍

      @@benny9685 I've caught a lot of herring around the yacht clubs in the Claremont/Nedlands area, but you'd probably find it tougher after all the rain we've had. A lot of skippy and small samson fish around the yacht clubs though.

    do you use the clipon swiwels on zip baits?
    Will it change the way it swims?

      Hey mate i have started to use them and seems to work fine. I just do this for convenience of changing lures without snipping my leader. I still think loop knot is better but i change lures regularly

      @@DangasTackleTips okay, but my reel and rod are both older models but they are still great and been using them a lot, the rods cast wt: 20-56g, length 2.40m, line class is 5-10kg, 8ft and its a FIN-NOR rod, the reel is a 4000fb shimano hyperloop reel and my line is 20lb ty sorry I don't know much about this Thanks!

    • @DangasTackleTips
      @DangasTackleTips  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Snock3s nice mate seems like a good set up mate and halco poppers are good when the bite is hot for sure. I would be trying to get out on sunrise for the poppers and hit the Early bite, good tide in perth tomorrow morning and will be able to fish over a lot of reefy spots that are snaggy at other times. Might be worth trying out some stickbaits which you can reel in much slower and as such spend more time fishing 👍
