I find it funny how there is such a large emphasis on flying vehicles for local transportation in the first two illustrations, yet they have the "electric train from Paris to Beijing" rather than the more accurate airplane.
I don't think he expected that an airplane could be large enough to carry the same amount of people as a train, or be able to traverse continents

Villemard did predict headphones, audiobooks, electrified trains, war becoming mechanised, and horses becoming obsolete as transport (but not rare). Dictating mail wasn’t a bad prediction either.

Maybe no electric train from Paris to Beijing, but there is a direct route by plane. So his prediction was somewhat right, there are electric trains and there is a Paris - Beijing trajectory, so I guess it's 8.75/10 then.
I suppose airliners replaced the idea of the Paris-Beijing train line, and it gets there much faster than they would've predicted a train to do.

He predicted armored vehicles during war, microphones some people use to create emails, people paying to see horses (petting zoo), and electromagnetic trains. He was also kinda right.

The implication here is that horses as a species would be a rarity and thus people would pay to see them.

I found that to be a common theme amongst most of the past-future prediction videos I've seen. Also a lot of them thought we'd be airbound by now.

If you ignore some of the more extreme flying ones, this guy predicted the future quite well
These are actually SPOT ON in concept! The execution is off of course, but the idea is correct. tape-recorder/voice-mail, tanks, radio and media in the classrooms, hover packs for firefighters (probably something we'll see in this century)

Been looking at a bit of retro futureology It shows how impossible it is to predict how the future will look but can manage a concept, even if more often than not it fails short of or exceeds contemporary imagination.

Even though it's not 100% right, It's amazingly well predicted. Like, this was 100 years past. I can't even predict what's going to happen in the next minute.
A robot specialized in applying makeup on women. That was a new one for me. But thinking about it's not so farfetched. There will be probably be a market for such an appliance in the near future.

As much as I think these predictions are wrong I think most of them were right. Like at 1:54 for example. The "Combat Cars" can be easily be seen as today's Army Jeeps or the Fast Attack Vehicles.
Same thing goes for the audio books at 1:10.

Pretty much all of these except the first 2 (firemen and air policemen- which are fully possible but not practical ie, whats the point when it doesnt improve quality of life) and the makeup was 100% on point. We have pony riding as a hobby purely for pleasure rather than being a necessity, I havent read a book in over a decade and I prefer to listen to podcasts for learning, 'combat cars' is self explanatory, we have speech to text conversion and theres long distance intercity electric trains.

What they got right is email (sort of except it’s text instead of sound), electric trains (Subways), and combat cars (tanks). What they didn’t get right is that horses aren’t that rare as you see horse pastures and ranches and you pleasure ride them and classes today don’t have audio book phones, instead we have ebooks.
