- We had planned to spend our 10 years wedding anniversary rock-climbing in Mossel Bay but thing didn't work out that way. We had an incident and we had to leave earlier. We can talk about it now but at the time it was pretty scary and traumatic.
We then made our way to the beautiful De Hoop Nature Reserve.
And we also take you to Cape Agulhas : the Southern-most tip of the continent of Africa.
Join us as we travel the world overland, exploring the cultures and traditions of all the countries we visit.
In our Land Rover Defender camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.
Congrats on 10/15 years. The two of you have packed more into those years together, than most people would do in 10 lifetimes.
Thanks for sharing, we are keeping a good record of some of the great spots you have been to, as we are returning to Africa for a proper stay. We loved our short time there many years ago and have always said we would go back. I remember well the same feeling of "out there is Antarctica.."

We love hiking/walking and are heading there for holiday, and obviously we'll be hiking along the cliffs and would not want to experience the same. Where exactly are these caves or area....to avoid such an experience?

2:27: The beautiful cooing of the Cape Turtle Dove...the sound of my youth growing up in Cape Town. I'd awaken to this beautiful bird's call. Occasionally would rescue ababy dove abandoned by their mother...nurse it until it was able to fend for itself and then it would return each day to say hello. Magnificent birds.
Thank you for sharing those beautiful memories. It’s also similar to the sound of sleeping over at my grandparents in the 90s . I could hear the “coucou “ in the morning.

Happy Anniversary! I'm really glad you made the river crossing at Malagas Pont as it is definitely off the beaten track. I made that crossing in 2019, on my way from Mossel Bay to L'Agulhas while on holiday touring the southern coast of SA. Back then it was hand pulled by 3 guys with chains they connected to a cable & walking from the back to the front. The new motorised ferry was on the bank ready to replace the old one...

Congrats on the anniversary, wishing you many more! I noticed you deflating your tyres with quite an outdated pressure gauge. I recently bought a locally made product called Indeflate that allows you to rapidly deflate two or four tyres (depending on the model) simultaneously, and balances the pressure in the tyres during the process. You connect it to your pump for inflating and again, it keeps the pressure equal between the tyres being inflated. Have look, I love mine and recommend it! (I'm not in any way involved with this company)

My wife and I were in this exact restaurant when we visited SA last May and believe it or not, we were the only 2 customers in the entire compound. Very weird and awkward experience to be alone with all the staff staring at us and waiting for us to ask something.

I hope you let the campsite know about the cave dude so they can warn others, that couldve been very dangerous if you'd gone in.
The campsite was 20km away from the climbing spot. We don’t think climbers stay there. But we did talk to some people from Mossel Bay.

We were just at these same caves in Mossel Bay two weeks ago. There are so many caves in that area that we didn’t see him, and I can’t say I’m disappointed. We also stayed at De Hoop (hopefully your cottage didn’t smell like ours!), did what looks like the same route as you guys. Unlike being in your awesome Landy, we were in a Toyota Corolla…

It’s a little bit out of town. Riverside Holiday Resort. You need to be a member but we asked if we could stay anyway and the lady said no problem.
