    Bravo Tracy! I am JoAnne Richmond, the author of Reinvent Yourself with Color Me Beautiful which you so graciously mentioned in your TH-cam video. You did GREAT describing all the seasons and why everyone should have their own swatchbook. My goal (and yours) is that we just want people to feel and look their best! I have been a Color Me Beautiful consultant for 24 years on 3 continents and 2 states. Thank you for showing my book. I appreciate you. JoAnne Richmond.

    I had my colours done in the early 80's when I entered my twenties. It has saved me a fortune in clothing by buying only the colours that suit me. Mid 50's now and still shop with my colour swatches every time.❤❤

      Yes! I have so many Autumn clothes still hanging in my closet, that I rarely wear. I liked green for my eyes and gold/orange for my hair and warmth on my skin, but I’m a Spring who needs light and bright greens and oranges and sunny yellows! I no longer spend a long time trying to darken my appearance with makeup and accessories. Getting out of the house is much easier!

    I was a color consultant back in the 80’s-90’s. There is a white for every season. Creamy beige-white for warms and cool white for cools. Winters can wear stark white best. Summers a soft white. Same with black, soft blacks with yellow in it for warms, Stark black for winters. Periwinkle blue is best for spring tones.
    Certain fabric patterns should be avoided too; if you have freckles or mottled skin, then small prints will accentuate freckles, so wear solid colors. Purple and red are power colors, autumn and spring wears brick reds, summers a soft tomato red, winters wear a bright blue-red.
    For eye color; purples up near your face make green eyes greener, Grey tones make blue eyes bluer. Teal-blue can enhance blue eyes, but teal-green will fight with blue eyes.
    Color draping should be done by a window in natural sunlight. Have fun beautiful ladies!

      Helen Andersen it’s so confusing to me ...my veins are more bluish, skin medium ( with age spots), hair blonde heavy highlighted pixie with dark natural color mostly in the back. Was blonde as a young child... now that I’m older wondering should I go more natural darker color hair.. Always when I wear Bright Coral or Salmon, I get compliments... but I can’t figure what season I am (summer?)

    Tracy, I can really recommend Color Me Beautiful by Carole Jackson. My Uncle purchased that book in the USA for my Mum and I in 1983 or so and therefore I grew up with my colours. What a joy! Not only does it talk about colours, but also styles, etc.

    Years ago, JC Penney had a Color Me Beautiful cosmetics counter, and I had my colors done there. I still have the swatch book, and refer to it from time to time. Oddly, I have both gold and silver in my palette, and I’m considered a “deep autumn”. I always gravitate toward gold much more than silver, though. Tfs💕💕💕

    • @lugm1034
      @lugm1034 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bc autumn is warm season,, therefore gold. Deep autumn is the "sister"season of deep winter (cold) that´s why you tolerate silver but look better in gold.

    Tracy, I watched this video a few months ago but didn't leave a comment. It's been bugging me that I didn't, so back to it I came. I fall into the "cool" colors, but could never figure out why I always get compliments when I wear peach or orange clothing. After watching this video, I learned! When I get compliments, I am obviously wearing a cool shade of those colors. Now it makes sense when a color I think of as warm looks better with silver jewelry, and a color that is normally a cool color looks better with gold jewelry. I need to use silver and gold as my "test" to know if it's my best shade. Thanks so much!

    I’m a winter I look better in Jewel colours. You would think a natural blonde would be a summer but I look washed out in pastels. That is why it’s important to get your colours done. As I aged I went from a ash blond to light silver but always stayed a winter. The silver and gold tick is a good one. Glad you mentioned it. Love all your videos from dinning etiquette to colours. Thank you for creating them.

      People were always telling me I should me I should wear pastels because I have light golden/strawberry hair and light skin, but colors that are too light wash me out so bad. I have bright hair and bright green (leaning olive) eyes with a dark ring around them. I was determined a Light/Bright Spring…the lighter brights and brighter lights, as well as a lot of true brights are in my palette. I didn’t find a Bright Spring palette that really convinced me, until I found Your Color Style’s Bright Spring. Some palettes and blinding bright and veer into neon (a bit much for me light skin), but your more classic brights are the colors I’ve always loved and worn, as well as all greens. The light and bright spring greens are my new favorites, to wear. I used to wear too many medium to dark olives, but I can do that in a skirt, with a clear light olive. Spring bud green, grassy greens, lighter yellow and blue greens are best for me. It’s so validating to find that I was not crazy to wear the spring brights I love! I think a lot of people shy away from brightness and assume it overpowers everyone, but I need brightness! I’ve heard blondes can’t be Winters, like you, or that people with light skin can’t be warm, like me, but I’m glad to know these are stereotypes, because I’ve seen blondes who rock jewel tones and brights in their season!

    • @sciencenotstigma9534
      @sciencenotstigma9534 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! People always told me I should wear pastels, but they really wash me out and make me disappear…I look naked in pastel pink and peach. I’m in between a light and bright Spring, because of my bright (but lighter) hair, light, clear skin and bright to dark green eyes. I’ve also had people assume I’m cool, because I am very fair, but color analysis confirmed I’m warm-neutral. A lot of redhead types are light and warm. I need brightness, for sure! I’ve often heard that blondes can’t be Winters and rock jewel tones, but I’ve seen proof that some do!

    Hi Tracy! I want to share with your community that after watching this video, I was inspired to see an Image Consultant to have my colors done. it was a great experience and I learned that I have been wearing many of the wrong colors. For instance, I wear a lot of black but found out, as a light summer, I should not be wearing black near my face. There are so many pretty colors that I should be wearing so I'm anxious to go shopping to pick out some items with my best colors. I highly recommend women do this! This video is awesome. Thank you.
    The only problem with color analysis is it applies for westerners more. Her in Egypt for example we have darker hairs, eyes and skins. My veins are trquaze, green and violet. My eyes are hazel brown with amber and caramel . My hair is a blend of ashy tones from ash brown to silver.
    I am cool summer. Summer colour flatter me. The rest of the colour make me look ill and washed out. I am a douple cold. The thing is my eye pattern is that of summer and winter. My skin is ivory with rose undertone. My mom is an Autumn. She is deeper in color with more beige and red in her skin tone and undertone.
    So the system is good, but it needs a little bit of adjustment .
    I loved every minute of the video , hence it is very thoughtful and perfectly made. Thank you, Tracy.

    So glad I found your videos! I've always thought I was a deep autumn as everything I've read about tend to say that, but when i wear deep autumn some of them feel a tad too warm for my skin tone. After some research, finally at piece to know that I can also wear some deep winter colours. Can you please do another video about deep winter colouring and perhaps show more clothes on those shades (plus where to buy)? And where to get accessories? The ones you are wearing go so well with with your skin tone and the blue you are wearing!

    I have Irish Gaelic heritage with the matching colour: red/gold hair (mum said it was marmalade colour as a child), hazel (mostly green) eyes and fair skin that freckles and burns easily. I prefer and feel I look my best in autumn colours

    On you, as you held up the less ideal colors, every one made you instantly look like you had a tad too much blush on. The good colors? You just looked vibrant! It's like a gambler's "tell" I guess. Now I just have to figure out mine!

    I'm a Summer but also look great in red and black. And surprisingly the right tone of orange, if it is diffused in a white print. I'm not an icy blonde as a typical Summer would be, but I do look good in the colors you showed for your husband too. . I look nice in silver, but feel better in gold.

    I love this video! You know why? I always thought this whole “season palette” thing was BS for about forever...I’ve just come across your channel and was watching this video really trying to look at “seasons” with a fresh perspective...I took several quizzes and came up with deep winter, thought eh, but looked towards my closet and everything there is deep winter (at least my favorites)! 😂 You never know.

    Tracy you look gorgeous in all of those blues. The dress you have on is the best and it looks exactly like the pants you said is not your best color. when you hold colors up to you nothing made you look less then the other. So basically you are gorgeous in all those colors not just some of them.

    Tracy, I’m so happy I found your channel; for years I’ve heard of having your color season determined,etc but due to living in a smaller community didn’t follow through. Over the years I’ve wasted so much time/$$$ on my wardrobe by not having this knowledge of myself. I so enjoyed this video. Before I go and read the second book you mentioned I want to ask you now if you would please make a video addressing body types and how to dress the one each one has. I’m a very young, 67 yr widow who loves clothes, boots and French perfume. What can I say? Again thank you for being there for the rest of us. God bless...
