congradulations, liv. I am currently attending cuhk for my bachlor of public health, and i will be applying public health afterwards, my dream school is harvard, columbia and michigan, so i really hope that i can get in after my bachlor education
I’m ‘22 and I also did a dual with sociology and community health with a minor in GIS, and aside from research and internships I was apart of a sexual health student org and a social justice org. I applied to 6 MPH programs that I’m not at all confident I’ll get into but we can only hope for the best😭
Congratulations girl! I’m currently a high school senior who is soon going into college with a major in public health; I’m planning to earn my MPH after I get my bachelor’s. I wanna ask how your experience was in majoring in health sciences with a concentration in public health was like for you and what career you aim to be? You also did a lot of internship/research opportunities which is amazing! When during my college years should I try to search for some and any tips on how to pursue those opportunities? What were some of the hardest classes you took in your major? These are just some of my questions, again congratulations !!
So exciting that you’re interested in public health! I loved my major! The professors were so knowledgeable and taking all of the different classes led me to figure out exactly what I want to focus on since the field is so broad. I started to find research and internships after my freshman year. I just emailed different professors and asked if they had any teaching or research assistantships open. If they say no just ask again next semester or even over the summer. For opportunities outside of my university I looked at other universities in the area and my local health department. I think the hardest class for me was definitely anatomy but just study extremely hard and ask professors for help! I want to eventually work for the National Institutes of Health and preferring in their Minority Health and Health Disparities institute! I really hope you have a good journey on your public health path! If you have anymore questions please ask!
What a pleasant manner you have- you will do GREAT in life. I think you will choose UNC. You must be a sports fan. And like Good weather. It is a very good choice!
