Hi there, I just selected the material (light maple plywood) and it engraved it. You need to make sure that you make your image in black and white first. I did it using canva first then exported the photo to the Glowforge site.

Do you have to use light maple plywood? is there a different glowforge wood that will work - maybe light basswood plywood?
Hi there! You can absolutely use a different type of wood. It is your preference and what you have available!
What setting did you use when engraving. It looked like (convert to dots) I've tried vary power for wood engraving and didn't like it.

How dark do you need to make the photo
Hi, you just need to make it contrast. I think the darker the better. It will show up more.
