Daytime Ceefax had long since disappeared from BBC1by this time, but this compilation, only ever heard in the early morning, was absolutely magnificent.
One of the finest tapes of the Ceefax era. Generally not a fan of the Ceefax AM material, but I wish more music in this style had made its way into the remaining daytime slots on BBC2 in the late 80s.
Are you the same fellow who is in the Test Card Circle as I am? I have read your articles in past magazines, and may I say well done! Thank you anyway!
@@brucedanton3669 Hi Bruce, that's very kind of you, thank you - although it's been a good while since I contributed an article! In fact, I accidentally allowed my membership to lapse at the start of the pandemic after nearly 25 years and, for some stupid reason, have never got round to resubscribing - something which I regret each time I remember, yet have never rectified! I was hoping I'd make it onto tone island if I stuck around long enough! 😁
@@ETP1 Thank you for that Paul of course for the reply. I enjoyed your articles before although I know it must be some years ago now but very nice they were too at the time on Channel 4 trade and so on at the time, also of course Pages From Ceefax in the 1980s until its demise in October 1986 on BBC1 and later on BBC2 of course! Anyway. well done!

A bit like the third last track of Jewel In The Night and second last track of Colours.
It's called No Time by Robert / Jean Taillefer, performed by the Maximus Music Players. This tape was in service just after I stopped regularly listening. Wish I'd stuck around now! Fabulous compilation. I keep playing it over and over again!

oh my God how did you find these videos on to TH-cam that is so cool. but the piano I haven't listen to that kind of music like this before. so what time did you record this video because I like Ceefax but I can record it tonight now I got the dvd burner with my own edit and the writing.
This was recorded off the TV onto video on Tue 19 Jan 1988 at the usual time of 5.52am and Ceefax should have finished just before 6.40am but unfortunately this is incomplete and cuts off after about 25 minutes.
hi just to show something that I have uploaded the video last night put on TH-cam that I transfer onto from computer to the dvd on my TV that you may like to see it but it's got the home page inside of it. is on my TV which I published on dvd.
Brings back memories of sitting with my nanny in the early morning late 1980s / early 1990s watching Ceefax for the cheery music
Oh wow!Have not heard this in years! Delightful. What a find. Superb music from a superb era. Many thanks Jez.
This is one of the best. Sadly I had stopped listening earlier in 1987 so I am extremely grateful for this upload. Heartwarming stuff 😊

Sounds like instruments used heavily on tracks of Jewel In The Night and Colours on this one.
I think there's a definite connection.
Thank you for this-very nice too-well done!!
Test Card F and then Ceefax pages with music is so nice I feel-thank you of course so much anyway!
Music That Starts At 6:28 Sounds Like Something From Dora The Explorer
There seems to be a connection between this tape and Jewel In The Night and Colours.
TH-cam wrongly ID'ing a track from this tape as some vaporwave knock off is just peak-2020
Children's BBC in the morning had the presenter and his mascot reading out birthday cards and then linking into Play School.

Yes. Jewel in the Night was a very listenable and interesting compilation though

A static 198 between CEEFAX and the date. What happened to the rotating numbers?
They’d finished 2 years earlier David. The new text generator with Mode 9 font had static page counter.
