This song takes you on a journey and has one of the best breakdowns I have heard...the way the beats fade leaving nothing but the melodic piano rift is immense! Why dont they make them like this anymore?
A vast majority of kids have been groomed (via internet algorhithms for example, a.k.a propaganda) to keep in contact with certain type of crappy edulcorated edm stuff. Producers just follow the trend, plus the technology has advanced so much that it often takes away the artisan approach of 90s/early 2000/s progressive house or trance. Also the attention spam (of both producers and the young audiences) was clearly deeper and longer allowing for long arrangements back in the day. It would be unfair to state there is no longer good music out there, is just that the system is really interested in dumbing down people out of greed.
I remember when I first heard Janeiro, it was on Digitally Imported FM (DI.FM) back in the day. Hearing it for the first time while on my trance discovering journey was a TRIP back in my early high school days. I still remember it so fondly. And now it's just a memory... and tracks like this feel SO special to me, but most people around me can't relate to the feeling. It's a bit lonely feeling.. but also a special feeling as I have this connection with the music that is almost unexplainable and yet so peaceful.
I got this when it came out for 2 bucks at the used vinyl store. Some DJ thought it was too trendy so I got this and the remix that was hot at the time in Denver, CO. What a fun time I had with those hits that so many just tossed aside!

@FaeRhanMusic The remake is quite terrible and I really loved a few of Dash Berlin's productions. I don't think it did the original any justice. It was a commercial cash-out on his part. :/

I would disagree, the Lemon 8 remix has a more subtle and layered build up whilst building intensity and loses the cheesy vocal.
