The Linate Airport disaster occurred on October 8, 2001, in Milan, Italy, when a Scandinavian Airlines MD-87 collided with a private Cessna aircraft on the runway during takeoff. The collision resulted in the deaths of all 114 people on board both planes and four on the ground. It was attributed to a series of human errors and communication failures.
