Ford of Canada has extended the Powershift transmission warranty to seven years or 160,000 ams (seven years definitely, not completely sure about kilometres). My Focus sometimes jerks in gear, mostly after exiting highways. It does it so infrequently it's hard to take it into the dealer to diagnose problems, because once it's at a dealer, suddenly the problems disappear!

Two clutch pack replacements in eighteen months. Some 2011 Fiesta owners are on their fourth clutch! The oil seals keep failing.

haha, I'm having exactly the same experience! (I bought my Fiesta with 130000 km and now it has almost 200000 km and so far no issues except for the once described above. I'm driving mostly on the highway though)

With 4 clutches, 2 TCMs and 2 Shift Forks By 55k miles there is a Durability Issue! The Clutches overheat in Hot Climates. The Clutch Pack needs to be larger to handle the Ford Focus 160 Horse Power Motor.

If only they didn't use plastic for the clutch spring retainers....

"If you like the feel and efficiency of a manual transmission, and enjoy jerky back-and-forth motions while in gear, gear grinding, shuddering, losing reverse gear, driving loaner cars while Ford replaces the oil seals and clutch pack TWICE in eighteen months, and shift forks clicking back and forth as the transmission control module fails, you'll love the available six speed PowerShift automatic transmission."
I'd rather put up with a $500 fluid flush with a VW DSG every 60 000 kms than this POS Ford PowerShift transmission.
Or, Ford, this should be the solution: put the 6F15/6F35 torque converter automatic in every Focus to replace the DPS6/6DCT250.

runforit420 have you tried replacing the DCT fluid every 30k kms? It’s the solution. Use spec cheap fluid like motul dctf... really cheap

@@wallmethod I know, it's the customers fault he doesn't change the transmission oil every time he gets in the car!

Too bad these transmissions blow so much ass. Grinding noises, crunching noises, slipping, and lurching. The worst part is Ford's refusal to acknowledge the magnitude of the issue. From a respected manufacturer, this is pathetic.

Ford cars and crossovers are garbage. The purge valve failed in my 2012 Ford Focus and caused the engine to backfire. The backfiring damaged the catalytic converter. Thank goodness I bought an extended powertrain warranty for my car, because Ford Canada would have told me that I had to replace the catalytic converter even though the extra fueling caused the failure.
I know this is true because one of my friends has a Focus and Ford Canada wouldn't replace the catalytic converter in his car after the purge valve was replaced. Check engine light is on permanently now. I think Ford actually paid out money on the $3500 I spent on the extended powertrain warranty.
First and last Ford product ever. The company doesn't care if you own a Ford car or crossover. If you have a problem with an F150, they'll bend over backwards to fix it for you.
