I played this game so much as a kid. Most of the bosses aren’t a problem once you finally learn their patterns, which is easier said than done as you have to restart if you die. The biggest challenge was the brother fight at 3:53. Beating him felt euphoric. He made the final boss look like an amateur. Gromm is a challenge until you figure out not to punch his cape. Duke is hard until you figure out you need to trap him in a corner for an easy victory.
Am I the only person that for some weird reason really liked this game? As a kid, I was very impressed with the graphics, music and background (even if there was lots of color swapping)
Great job doing this, did you do it all in a single sitting? I only beaten the game once in my life and had to let the console sit all night for only one day lol no save states, was NOT fun but worth it. Sold the game after beaten it.
Thank you! I don't remember since many years have passed, but I think I recorded everything in a single afternoon (probably a bit of save scumming with the Gross fight, it was the toughest). I knoe this game since I was 7 and I still play it from time to time.
I've been playing this game since my childhood and could never get passed grom.. whoever played made that look really easy..in the game he morphs into two separate people, so the fight is basically two against one..
You are probably thinking about Alf the boss in the river that you fight before gromm. He creates an illusion of himself if you hit him when he shows his mantle (in the manga, such mantle is poisonous), so all you have to do is to stop your punching when he exposes it. Easier said than done though, it is still a damn hard fight. But it is also optional - you can take another route in the map and to directly to Gromm's castle!
If you are able to stuck him in the corner, you can them punch him into oblivion and he won't be able to react. In lucky playthroughs i can corner him fast and remove half his lifebar with endless punches. In this playthrough i got unlucky and cornered him only when he had 2-3 hits left
@@Pignoragliaglio That's what I noticed. You do have to time your jumping kicks or he will counter you with his punch or kick. But once he is trapped against the edge, you can just keep hitting him. I am stuck on Gromm, any tips on him? I assume you would fight Gromm like you would with Duke. Also, that waterfall boss is annoying as hell. I have to wait for him to strike before I can hit him.
@@va2_lee Duke's strategy wont work with Gromm because he can jump away from corners and he will jump a lot. Just stay close to him as much as possible and shorten your distance whenever you can. It is probably the funniest fight in the game (as Kenshiro vs. Ron is in my opinion the best fight in HnK2). The waterfall boss shouldn't be hit when he exposes his mantle, but before that keep in mind that he is skippable. While it is not the hardest fight (Gross takes the cake in my opinion), it is the most gimmicky and can be quite annoying to beat, so I usually take another route and avoid him entirely.
@@Pignoragliaglio I found a good pattern to prevent his mantle. Just look away from him and keep an okay distance so you can counter back. I always go to him to regain health from annoying chapter 3 enemies and oh boy stage 4 is annoying.
Nope. It's Aarzak! The ling lost, Americanized (read:dumbed down), Jet Kwon Do (Quick Foot Way!??) fightin' older brother of Riki, karate gi wearin', generic-jutsu doin' hero of Black Belt! Gotta love it! Lol.
I didn't, he's at 2:36. But if you never punch his cloth he never makes a copy of himself. Look at how I refrain to attack every time he exposes the cloth.
Took me 30+ to realize that I was playing a Fist of the North Star game all that time.

I did like the game as a kid and I like it now. That's why I made a video of it!
This is one of my favorite games in the Genesis! You're not alone. This game is cool AF and very rewarding to beat.
The zombie with the blue towel was by far the hardest for me. Took me months to beat him.
im not kenshiro, im my original character aarzak
Yes aazark
How embarrassing

Oh I thought that was Freddie Mercury.
I swear with Duke, you can't beat him solely using punches. You have to jump kick him like 95% of the time then finish him off.

I always beat him using punches, lol
Is not original game, the blood is censored
IS NOT KENSHIRO

I hated this game as a kid. The random flying axes and shit really wore you down. And restoring health was difficult.
You forgot the boss with the cloth that made a shadow image of himself

Omae wa mo shindeiru

Why did they call it Last Battle? This is fist of the north star
EduSanjuan777 American translation FONS was already here licensed.
It is, but it is a censored version for wimpy Americans.
