Don 'Campbellock' Campbell, Fred 'Mr. Penguin' Berry a.k.a. Rerun, Toni Basil, Leo 'Fluky Luke' Williamson, Greg ' Campbellock Jr.' Pope, Bill 'Slim The Robot' Williams, Adolpho 'Shabba Doo' Quinones
I almost can't believe this! Sigmund the Sea Monster, Shabba Doo,and Toni Basil...three icons, for different reasons, in my life...together in the one brilliant moment!
The lockers should have done a broadway musical. They were more than talented enough and beyond entertaining. Plus, they could have made more money from their talent. I would have gone every week to see them.
They, to me, could have their own Unsung or Unsung Hollywood. Most people have no idea Toni Basil did anything outside of "Mickey" ... especially within the context of urban dance. They were fantastic.
They were on Sigmund and the Sea Monsters? I had no idea, how cool is that?! Look at Rerun. You go boy, R.I.P. You and your dance moves will never be forgotten.
Old post, but I don't think this was actually on "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters." It more likely seems to be one of those prime-time preview specials they used to do before the start of the new Saturday morning cartoon season.
for anyone that doesn’t understand the impact this group had, watch M.J. at the motown twenty-five ‘83 performance, & watch the lockers’ soul train clips from ‘76
I remember watching this . I tell you I owe my love of dancing to those guy's , I could speak a word of English , but I could dance . I dancehall day everyday and tried to dance just like them . I just had alot of soul , too much to contain me . So , I danced any chance I got .
The Lockers were truly Amazing!! Each member having their very own Unique Style and Toni being the only Female but definitely Holding Her Own🤣!! These are the Orginal Members and they Hip Hop Dance Culture what it is today!! Much Love To You All💚🤍🍀🤍💚
@reggiemccoy3265-yes indeed my brotha! It's all the "evolution" of Social Dancing! Most of these youngsters are expounding on what's already been done as far as dance moves, styles and techniques are concerned.
You were a year old during this episode How is that possible? If you are my big sisters age 51 sure maybe you could remember this. You must be a genius baby at the time to remember. I googled this and this show ran it says from 73 to 75 and you were born in 74 so you weren't watching this. lol I wasn't even born yet but found out about shabadoo from breaking movie as a young kid in the 80's I remember him from that.
Best dancing group of all time.........I am on the clock here in melrose park illinois USA watching this video.....R.I.P. Freddy rerun Berry.....The G.O.A.T.
I see Toni Basil, I see Fred Barry (Rerun) and Shabadoo (from Breakin 1 and 2). Yay Sigmund and the Sea monsters and Johnny Whitaker (Jody from A Family Affair)!
no Rerun did not get his moves from Toni and the Lockers because he was one of the original lockers and Toni Basil was not with them when the dance was made up - and Rerun is a much better Locker then Toni so he did not get his moves from her and she did not make the dance up she just joined the group.
@@noelephantitis ....here you go, this is a video with Tony Basil and Rerun "Penguin", Shabbadoo, and the creator of the PopLock , and another entertainer - Tony introduces them and she says Penguin who is Rerun, that he was Locking before her....th-cam.com/video/A9D5ro0oThk/w-d-xo.html.
Actually, Toni met Don Campbell at a nightclub and that was before The Lockers were a group so she's just as much a founding member of the group as the late Fred "Rerun" Berry aka "Penguin!! The rest of the group members Aldolpho "Shabadoo" Quinones(RIP), Lou "Flukey Luke" Williams II, Bill "Slim The Robot" Williams, Greg "Campbellock Jr" Pope(RIP) Don met them when they were all dancers on Soul Train where the late Don "Campbellock" Campbell danced with his dance partner, Soul Train alumni Damita Jo Freeman. I met Don Campbell and the rest of the Lockers through Lou "Flukey Luke" Williams son Lou Williams III who goes by the name of "Limbo" who I met back in the early 90's on the underground Hip Hop Club Circuit in Los Angeles! And while he hasn't followed in his father's footsteps as far as carrying on The Locking legacy, he's still successful as a Entertainment industry wardrobe stylist and a accomplished dancer who's a "True Freestyle Dancer" as am I, even though we both also know how to Lock as well we've both evolved beyond being just Hip Hop Freestyle Dancers!
bring it back to the little kids, need this now more then ever, put away video games, tablets, and PHONES. this is what this generation is missing , we talk about we wish I lived during that period, bring it back.
@SuggahBear- The remaining Lockers still alive are Toni Basil, Lou "Flukey Luke" Williams II, Bill "Slim The Robot" Williams, and Suga Pop who joined the group after Fred "Rerun" Berry left the group to pursue acting and Toni Basil had left to also pursue acting as well as singing.
Sigmund and The Sea Monsters had soul.
RIP, Don Campbellock, Greg Campbellock Jr. Pope, Rerun and Shaba Doo.
They didn't get to be old.
I almost can't believe this! Sigmund the Sea Monster, Shabba Doo,and Toni Basil...three icons, for different reasons, in my life...together in the one brilliant moment!
And don't forget Re run 😁
And Re-Run!
Well said
You forgot Fred Berry@🤨
😄😄😄 My first time watching this. I must of miss watching this when I was little or forgotten it. RE-RUN from whats happening I never forget.
The lockers should have done a broadway musical. They were more than talented enough and beyond entertaining. Plus, they could have made more money from their talent. I would have gone every week to see them.
I was just thinking the same thing... only a year later.
dont think so

They, to me, could have their own Unsung or Unsung Hollywood. Most people have no idea Toni Basil did anything outside of "Mickey" ... especially within the context of urban dance. They were fantastic.
MelodyMaker151 #facts
Toni was in the movie Easy Rider too. She had a pretty varied career.
She taught David Bowie...
She was also the girlfriend of one of the members of DEVO back in the 70's.
They were on Sigmund and the Sea Monsters? I had no idea, how cool is that?! Look at Rerun. You go boy, R.I.P. You and your dance moves will never be forgotten.
Was that a kids show or something?
Old post, but I don't think this was actually on "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters." It more likely seems to be one of those prime-time preview specials they used to do before the start of the new Saturday morning cartoon season.
🙏rest in peace Shabba-Doo he was my favorite lockers one of the greatest entertainers all times!

for anyone that doesn’t understand the impact this group had, watch M.J. at the motown twenty-five ‘83 performance, & watch the lockers’ soul train clips from ‘76
This was from NBC Saturday Morning Preview Revue on September 5, 1975.
I remember watching this . I tell you I owe my love of dancing to those guy's , I could speak a word of English , but I could dance . I dancehall day everyday and tried to dance just like them . I just had alot of soul , too much to contain me . So , I danced any chance I got .
OMG!!! Sigmund and the sea monsters. Memories galore :-)
The Lockers were truly Amazing!! Each member having their very own Unique Style and Toni being the only Female but definitely Holding Her Own🤣!! These are the Orginal Members and they Hip Hop Dance Culture what it is today!! Much Love To You All💚🤍🍀🤍💚
😂Looking back on these shows makes me hate getting older sometimes. I miss all of them.
I know what you mean
"Yeah I Keep Telling These Youngsters All These Dance Moves Are Older Then You Think."
@reggiemccoy3265-yes indeed my brotha! It's all the "evolution" of Social Dancing! Most of these youngsters are expounding on what's already been done as far as dance moves, styles and techniques are concerned.

Your barely old enough to remember

It's sad that Toni is last remaining Lockers member, RIP Don Campbell, Fred Burry, and Shabado
There are two other founding members still with us, Bill “Slim the Robot” Williams, and Leo “Flukey Luke” Williamson.
Best dancing group of all time.........I am on the clock here in melrose park illinois USA watching this video.....R.I.P. Freddy rerun Berry.....The G.O.A.T.

Greatest dance and dancers of all-time ! The Greatest hands down !
RIP SHABBA DOO & RERUN! All of them were great!
The Lockers have great flexibility. They sure can dance.
Ozone from Breakin, Rerun from What's Happenin, and Toni Basil from Hey Mickey to name a few of these talented dancers. #legend
never seen a group having so much fun dancing; the originators. the great lockers with a young Toni Basil.
Toni Basil was one of the oldest members
My childhood just came and hit me upside my head! GenX had some kick ass shows!
Sigmund the sea monster, Rerun, Shabba Doo, and Toni Basil in the same video......I'm in the fucking twilight zone! Love it.
😂
How can you NOT love the Lockers? Before them, there was no such thing as street dancing. BUT...I'll be to this day their knees aren't worth SH_T.
+Vid3oJo3 I fear you may be right, but I hope they are all in fine fettle :-)
False. There's new video of 73 year old Tony Basil still doing spins and pop locking. It's awesome.
Lol right!
Toni Basil is actually still dancing to this day!
I see Toni Basil, I see Fred Barry (Rerun) and Shabadoo (from Breakin 1 and 2). Yay Sigmund and the Sea monsters and Johnny Whitaker (Jody from A Family Affair)!

SEE?! Even the cartoon hours in the 70s were funky !
Rerun got all his moves from Toni & the Lockers!!! Everything's coming together . . . everything's connected! My mind is blown
no Rerun did not get his moves from Toni and the Lockers because he was one of the original lockers and Toni Basil was not with them when the dance was made up - and Rerun is a much better Locker then Toni so he did not get his moves from her and she did not make the dance up she just joined the group.

Toni Basil went on to do "Mickey."
She did a hell of a lot, before Mickey. She was an original member, here.
Yo Gabba Gabba in the making... dunno how many original Lockers are left, but they need to get on that show and show these youngens how it's done!
@DaQuanLJohnson Yep. These are The Lockers.
