Love these videos, youre the best judoka on youtube. I loved the other no gi vids you did during the coronavirus, but they were a little short and you couldnt demonstrate the full take down due to the small size of your room. Now that youre back in the gym can you keep doing more no gi take down vids? And maybe do like a part 2 to all the no gi vids you did during the coronavirus.
Used this is wrestling in 2008 my senior year. Worked like a charm. Had to come look it back up to remember though 😅 it’s been over a decade since I worked it.

Ippon Seoi Nage is quite risky in general if not executed quickly and at the right time\position. That left arm protecting and controlling the opponent arm around the neck is super-important.
@@undercoverwarrior3149 I'm just saying the guy who got thrown probably trained that stuff as well even though he might have not "anticipated" it. It's like saying a judo guy won't expect a double leg when there are actual double legs in judo.
I am a bit curious, most of the time the collar ties that we do in wrestling have the arm on inside bicep control instead of outside (I find it a lot easier to do things like duck unders, etc), what’s the motivation/advantage from an outside bicep grip?
@@bilbaogimenezmarkel Matt Mosley is almost correct - Ippon seoi nage is a standing throw which this is not, one name ive seen this called is ryo hiza (double knee) seoi nage
I hit more no gi throws in my dojo than I ever hit with traditional judo throws. The black belts don't see those coming and they usually work against defensive players!
Please more No Gi for my BJJ so many throw look deadly , i used to do judo when i was younger , but i cannot find my moves , i used to do them so easily but now i cannot enter to step in when i roll at the bjj . it's like i get stop before the entering , on every throw .
Shintaro thank you so much for sharing with us a bit of the greatness of Judo and the no gi aplications you are an amaizing teacher Osss By the way Is she so tall or like me you are shorty(1.70mts)?
Iv found ippon works best for me by cupping the upper outside of their elbow and doing the standing variety of this throw. Works well for me if they are leaning in to me. Just wondering why you favor the left hand taking the over the elbow and pinning the arm grip? Would you still use this grip for a standing seio?
Thanks bro, what other prep do you have before entering your throw. I saw the stutter step as a example. Keep it coming.!! We base your stuff around the stuff we do as well.
I wish someday i could be a Judoka Master or brazillian jiujitsu master. So i can make a video demonstating the technique with Hot Blonde Girl. It would be Fun 😆
@@adcyuumi without having the ability to video, you make a very small adjustment so your partners arm goes over the other shoulder. It requires a few other slight changes in footwork. I had to abandon the arm spin for bjj until my coach showed me this. He was an Iranian wrestler turned bjj, so we had to make adjustment when needed. In sure there's all kinds of ways to adjust so this happens. I only made this comment after being choked so many times. I guess it's a journey. But really fun.
Not seen this in a while.what do u call the throw where the other guy outweighs you by 30kg and he grabs both your wrists together and uses you like a sledgehammer? I remember that the most.😂
Hi Shintaro, even if the way you show to throw the seoi is for sure effective, i feel like this move should be avoided without the gi because the grip is too poor...
"Even though it's effective it should be avoided." Yea, that makes a lot of f-cking sense. This throw doesn't require your opponent to have a gi to grab onto. You can see that very clearly in the video.
@@profd65 I don't need video, i practice that move like 1000 times a week when i'm in training and i can tell you that is a risky move most of the time, it's not simply.

@JSL This throw leaves your back exposed easily, in wrestling often with sweat arms is impossible to use.. In judo is so good because you have always the right grip.
I really appreciate these no gi ones for mma and wrestling and seeing your history with grappling is very cool too
Love the no-gi stuff man, really brings back the spirit of judo as a combat art. Keep it up man!
True, but a lot of clothes people wear can be used for gi grips for combat too. This one's a classic: th-cam.com/video/aN0X7jqAw0I/w-d-xo.html
Or you can simply pull her hair and spin like a propeller blade. The move is called Agatha Trunchbull. It’s super effective.
Thanks!
All his material is gold! I especially enjoy his Judo leg attacks set .. Especially since they are not allowed anymore.
Excellant demonstration. Love to see more of these, no gi techniques.

At least for ONE TIME I would like to see his students trying apply ON HIM what they learned. Awesome video BTW.
I have to imagine that guy at the end that got thrown, wearing the wrestling equipment, didn't expect a judo throw. Very Sun Tsu.

No gi throws are where its at on the "street"! Thanks,
In the winter Gi throws will work just fine

Gi throws absolutely work in the "street" as well as most any place for the simple fact that everyone wears some kind of clothes (i.e Gi) everywhere!

It's called an arm spin and if you do it in jiu jitsu then you risk of getting choked. There's a tweak to the move to remedy this
You should share the tweak.
