In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to remove objects from your scene using masking, and the difference scenarios you can use this to make your videos stand out.

I still haven't entirely gotten the hang of bezier curves on drawing masks to create them as quickly and easily as most online tutorials seem to suggest I can, but once I'm better at it, I'll be coming back to this video! Thanks!
Awesome! Glad to hear Memo! Yeah drawing masks in Premiere is much more difficult in Premiere than in After Effects and other programs sadly, but it's great when you get it to work. Happy editing!
Hold Alt key when clicking points that are plotted already to get the handles. Also, make sure the mask lines are selected first or it will give another mask when grabbing inbetween points to form a curve via between the handled points.
I've been following the advanced premiere playlist which led me to this video...but after seeing the way you tilted the screen to explain how the concept works I'm very impressed...I thought in my mind that If i wasn't subscribed I'll subscribe because of that...but then i checked and realized i wasn't subscribed all along.... This is awesome! Really helped. The objects I was removing was small and in the background like a chip bag on the ground. I was able to adjust the position of the bottom clip, and it filled the grass in.
Thanks and having some issues with masking, when the fx is pressed the clip is not turning black to show only the masked area and the ellipse or other shapes disappear when mask path is pressed

how can i use the slip tool...? i totally follow your step but the slip tool just not working, i cant move the slip tool no matter what i do
A clip needs handles in order to slip. Is the clip you are trying to slip the entire contents of the clip? If so, there is no "room" for Premiere Pro to slip anything, as all available frames of the clip are currently showing - so it won't do anything.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when it comes to select the slip tool (Y) and move the bottom layer foward or backward nothing happens... instead of showing the empty portion. Any help will be appreciated!
The most likely situation is that the clip is already extended to it's full amount, try chopping the footage to be shorter?

Do you have any suggestions to remove a mouse cursor from my footage? I dont want to go back and record it all over again, it just has a mouse cursor in the same spot the whole clip as it moves around in the game I recorded. Pretty sure I need a different technique than moving a moving item that is only there temporarily.

another thing i find annoying is when i have two videos and they are identical but they are apparently off by mini frames and you cant fix it one has a slight edit to it but a glitch i wanna fix by bringing in the original clip to mask in that piece missing from the edited clip but when i do that i follow my subject and al of a sudden its a frame ahead or behind every time and its so annoying

I'm trying to remove a car that backs out of the driveway just as my scene unfolds. I did exactly what you said and now I have two layers stacked on top of each other with the car still backing out of the driveway.

when i click the pen tool its not highlighting to were i can manually mask it. When I click I just see an added option saying Mask 2 and submenus. Same thig when I click the square or circle. why is that?

It would be nice to see an explanation of how to do this INSIDE of a larger clip. I already have a 4 min video already made up of different clips and I only want to apply this to a shot that's in the middle of the whole clip.
Spent an hour on following your directions - which were WAY too fast...and to no avail...not working.

I try to remove two apples that fall on the kitchen counter behind a glass when I'm filming. I try to remove these apples in premiere pro but I don't know how to get them away so that the glass with the background is the same as it was before the apple ended up behind the glass? Ok, I can see the black patch on the object I wanted to cut out of my video but then when I keep playing it in the Editing Panel I still it BLACK PATCH.. what is the next step? How can I remove this black patch and make it disappear in the Sky with Clouds in Background ???? This video is missing out a couple of necessary steps for beginners like myself. This tutorial is not so helpful in acheiving what it's intended to achieve.

Haha, good eye, but we used the second method of this effect, so you can see at the very beginning that the reflection is removed as well 💁🏼♂️
my outline of my mask disappears once I click off of it and so Im not able to move my mask with my subject. not sure why its not just staying with the outline like the example

Doesn't explain how the waves are breaking perfectly in shot if they're from a slightly earlier time in the intro video - at the end you can obviously see it as there's a noticeable dip in the wave.
Hi M, this is because the feathering of the mask hides it enough during the first viewing. This goes back to the point mentioned where this will not work with certain types of footage depending on the motion and objects in the background. Waves also come in "waves" (lol) so you can see patterns and use the slip tool (Y) to time this so that the next wave appears at the same time as the previous. Hope that makes sense
Also, the reflection of the dog in the water, is missing from the final shot. Bad example!
