I've watched a lot of popular TH-camrs on weight training but Eric is up there. Breaks down the rep, speaks sense and communicated the message well. Deserves to grow followers !

This is the kind of resource I wish I'd had when I was a lot younger: Literally the entire reason I got into working out at ALL was because I was self conscious about my chest when I was a kid. TH-cam didn't exist back then, the internet was basically just catalogues & chat rooms that a 13yr old wouldn't care about anyway, & the only resource I had was a school gym teacher who did their best but only had that level of knowledge. Spent half my life doing as many pushups as I could every single night & going as heavy as I could for as many reps as I could on barbell benches any time I even saw one. Skip to me being 37 & I can bench more than most people I know & do pushups all day but that's not at all what I was ever going for & I am STILL self conscious about the way my chest looks. I'm going to use every scrap of information I picked up in this video. Thank you for this

Same here. I’m 38 now and back when I started lifting weights in weird gyms at the time I only moved a bunch of plates. Even when I got back into lifting I focused so much on bench pressing trying to improve my horrible chest.
Now I’m focusing much more on Eric’s great techniques and really start to feel a difference for the first time in my life. All while using less weights and heavy compound movements.

I'm in bed with covid right now (again🙄), this video really lifted my spirit! btw: my chest actually blew up and started pusching through shirts when I stopped presses all together and only did flys. now it was out of necessity cause my elbows can't take pressing but my chest is at an all time high. A lot of guys don't believe me I don't press but it works just fine. I'll still get back to pressing if my elbows are finally healed out but knowing you dont need to press is really helpful, quite an eye opener.

👏 Fantastic video, Eric! Your detailed explanation of the chest workout, especially the emphasis on pre-exhausting with safer exercises like machine flies, is a game-changer. It's refreshing to see a focus on technique and muscle health rather than just lifting heavy. Your approach to incorporating range of motion and conscious muscle engagement is insightful and something I'm definitely going to incorporate into my routine. Thanks for sharing your expertise and helping us achieve a stronger, healthier chest! 💪

There's literally 100's of thousands of people taking ped's / testosterone / etc. Not many look like him, so no, its not the juice! IT'S TRAINING, NUTRITION, REST, GENETICS AND SUPPLEMENTATION ( NORMAL AND OR SUPER )!!
Its called being consistent with your effort! Not missing meals, not missing training, not partying much ( if at all )!
Go one freaking month of eating 5 high protein meals daily without missing one. Then figure that amount of effort into years.

  • @vpastimes

I’ll be keeping this for April as at the moment I’m doing 20 reps per set and 100 reps per exercise
I’m old school 61yrs old next year so still count my reps 😂,
I use a lot of your cable work and pec dec work at the full stretch and cables using the benches
    Keep up the excellent work
But my shape has changed dramatically since I started in November to my winter training,
But I think I’ve mentioned before
I’m 61 in February 2024 stand 199cms (gutted as I always wanted to be 2metres😢
    And weigh in at 256lbs
So at the moment your building a big old grizzly bear in the Uk👍🏻👍🏻

I’m 62 and been training since 1979. Did some AAU competitions in the early 90’s. I want to do a few 50+ and 60+ NPC competitions and looking for a coach who’s intelligent, knowledgeable, and can help me collect a few more trophies, and show others that muscles don’t know how old they are.
Your advice and videos are sensible. We used to do drop sets and assisted negatives to fry muscle groups - and that simple stuff still works. And I’ve always done my reps slowly and deliberately in both directions, whereas so many (especially younger) guys hammer out reps and use momentum, bouncing, etc.
If you wanna coach a 60+ let me know!

  • @Elusive12

Yip. It's not so much about the weight but time under tension. Unless you are strength training, more heavier weight. You won't grow as much but you will get stronger, vs body building there is a difference in technique. You can change it up to heavier weight days and incorporate these techniques Eric is showing on other days to balance it out.

Is that deep stretch really necessary to simulate the chest for growth? Are flys better than presses, like barbell bench press and dumbbell bench press to get a bigger chest? Can someone answer me? It be great if Eric responds

The problem with those flyes is dropping the weights at the end when in failure, you're gunna rip out your shoulders - not safe to have them so far back.

Understand your rationale about going light before your compound presses; but aren’t we stronger at the beginning? Therefore to try to go heavy would make sense
