I think this is an amazing cover, I fell in love with it when I first listened to it. And I'm not saying that just because I'm a D fan. I don't know why people are complaining that it doesn't sound similar to MM's original. It's not supposed to, they're both different bands that have different style in their music. So these two versions are unique and amazing in their own way.
This is one of my top 5 malice mizer songs and I love it , but D did a wonderful job. It's perfect and I sneak my way here every once in a while. I feel like I'm cheating on Malice mizer , but I can't help it lol. I've never really cared to listen to this band , but I can see they're talented, especially the singer

Malice Mizer is my favourite band of all time so I guess I'm a bit of a hard judge when it comes to covers of their songs. But of course D didn't disappoint. When I saw the track list for "CRUSH! -90's V-Rock best hit cover songs-" some time ago, I was pleased to see that they would be the ones to do the cover. Asagi's voice is more than worthy - I fell in love with it when I first heard "Ouka Saki Some Ni Keri". Great job D - and awesome bass!

Now this is a little bit complicated. You know i admire both bands for their try and for their contribution to the V.K stream. But this cover it is a very succesful piece of music. You know, many bands get a song from another and they rip its "heart" off. First thing about this song being successful is that it kept the "identity" of the first piece.
they took the original meaning out of it, i think. the original was like...adventurous and cute and whimsical. like, well, dolls. 'cause that's what it was about. d's version is good, but i think they killed the meaning. i love asagi's voice and their guitarness, they heavy things really did them justice. but geez.
Funny story, I call this the "Harmony of Despair" Version This song's PV was based off of Castlevania, and Recently there was harmony of despair which the BGM was heavy rock versions of the Songs through various Castlevania games, as the original always reminded me of Castlevania, this version reminds me of Harmony of Despair

The song definitely has a deeper meaning, especially when you pair it with the rest of the Merveilles soundtrack. It's more than just 'puppets'. I do find the aggressive instrumental to be a bit of a mismatch, but I still enjoy it.
when i know that d cover malice mizer'song (gekka no yasoukyoku),i can't image that what kind that they create and cover it.i like original version in classic instrument but d change into metal symphonie. good job
in my opinion the original one is still the best, but this cover is not bad. it was hard to imagine a metal version of malice mizer's song, but now that i know what it sounds like... it's not bad.
I won't say Malice Mizer's or D's is better, just because, well, one is an original and D took it to an entirely different style, which shouldn't be compared. I love both Malice Mizer and D and I'm really enjoying this cover. Asagi's voice is very suiting to the song, in my opinion. I think Malice Mizer would be flattered, actually. Love to both bands and their work.
Secondly, the music differs, because this style is more of metal but they have combined the symphonic part and the heavy part so elegantly and the proof is the sound on your ear. I tottaly love this cover, beacause the voice also rocks and Asagi CAn sing Gackt and his voice can walk up and down the music scales. Of course as a prototype, Malice Mizer's song is also a masterpiece. What i am trying to say is that you should not imply the i-made-it-first- part in these songs. There is no need.

@sickninjamonkey I've always thought Asagi was the most skilled vocalist I've listened to. That does not say his voice is better, but more skilled. Which voice is better, depends on opinions and I think people should not argue over that. I do think Gackt's voice is getting less well, due to smoking.
@Twiggyay "kicked Juka"? juka left the band, just like kazuno and thoru. Mana should be a difficult person to live together or work. Juka was not the first to abandon their projects, and neither was the last haha at least, the career of both is still very good, I still think that good music do not need to come from the complexity. Mana has simplified her music since Malice Mizer and I confess that admire him now for what it was. Also, I like to hear the opinion of persons with similar tastes

asagiさんの声質だから違和感無いのか...これこそカバーって感じ。
この人たちのこと知らないけど、ギターとドラムのカッコ良さが全面に出てる！Aメロの伴奏の独特なリズム感にゾッとしたし、声もGacktさんへのリスペクトを感じるし、違和感なく聴ける！すごく面白い！
なんか演奏面ばかり言われるけど、このボーカル音域4オクターブとかあるし、liveも安定してて化け物だよ(笑)avex所属してるV系はみんな化け物。
