Run on the beach, barefoot with the breeze cooling me off is gold during the mornings or evenings. Running half in water, half on sand is incredible.

I hate it, I ran 3.1 and 7 miles and I didn't enjoy the experience honestly. Not bc of the view, that is asthoning but rather, because of the soft surface.

It is called slowing down! Running on the beach when done right is awesome. It strengthens those muscles that do not get worked running on the road and track

Did you listen at all? You should be embarrassed.

@@JasonFitzgeraldthey should not be embarrassed buddy. Running on the beach for a slow and short amount of time is good for strengthening your feet and legs as a whole. Not everything this guy says is 100% correct.

I agree! Although it definitely does hurt the day after 😂

Been running on roads in Vibrams for years, so when I went to the beach last year I tried barefoot running on sand to compare. Was fun to see that my form was pretty much the same. But agree about drawbacks like camber, as well as sharp shell fragments and rocks when barefoot!

Just came back from my own vacation to the gulf coast. I was excited to run on the beach, but the camber was a killer. Turned around on an out & back, and the right hip was not having it. Also, watch out for heat & humidity for northern travelers to southern beaches.

The beach was not the problem. It just showed were your weak

You experienced the drawbacks of the camber in a real way...

Beach traffic can be a hassle too, lots of walkers and loungers and other people to navigate around. It can be like trying to run down a busy city sidewalk.

Or dodging kids playing in the surf, building sand castles... It's good agility training, though!

Is it okay to run on a treadmill during snow days? What incline woul you recommend? 1.0? Thank you for the content

Great video. It articulated a lot of my thoughts well. I live 1km from the beach but almost never run there.

Being from NY, I've only run on a beach a couple times. I can say it sucks! The best I can compare it to is running on the "mashed potatoes" type snow. It's a wicked calf workout.

It's okay to run on the beach if your running to jump in the water!

The mosquitos and ticks will get you before any of those animals will. Always check for ticks after spending time in the nature like that without shirt or pants. Thank you for your running input

Agree with beach comments. I winter 3-4 months every year in south Florida.
Pulled hamstrings is a real concern on loose sand. Re: wildlife in Florida, I have came face to face with panthers twice while running alone on Florida trails. They seem timid and both time ran from me. Enjoy your Florida runs.
(The other prob with beach running is all the fishermen and their lines) 🤪🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
