Great Video. Learned a lot form this.
Thanks.
that sharpnessm,awesome....i ll try very hard to have a full focus and sharpness like that...whats the secret ?...you do focus stacks? thanks , btw great job !
Hi. Getting great sharpness straight out of camera requires great glass, a good chip, and correct distance from the subject with the lens you are using. It's a recipe that provides nice sharpness and then you can make it look even better with some quality photoshop work. :) Thanks for your kind words and good luck!
Nice job i like it..
What double sided tape/clay was that and the wire rigs for the watches to hold the bands open
I believe it was 3M extreme double sided gel tape thats about 2-3mm thick and clear.
@@mrresident assuming the wire rigs were built in studio? I have tried with clear acrylic circles as well as bending coat hanger wire with little success
Hi Joshua Geiger it looks like if we do not use a medium format camera, watches photography would impossible for us to do I see many tutos with that kind of Camera when it comes to product photography !
l'atelier Studio No way! Don't let your equipment stop you. Everything here could be done with an iPhone. :)
very nice
Much appreciated.
How background black?
Hi, What did you use on the inside of them to keep them looking round? Was it just some wire you bought?
+Jonny W It's wire coat hanger that I cut into three pieces and bent them into ovals of exactly the same shape.
+Joshua Geiger ahh perfect! Thank you!
+Jonny W You're very welcome.
good
What did you put around the inside of the watch to keep its shape?
Hi James. I cut a piece of wire coat hanger and bent it into an oval shape and just wedged it in there. :)
Woow
Thanks! :)
The fog part had to be a nightmare! lol
This job requires two things over knowledge of photography.... patience and attention to detail.
woww
:)
hello
thanks for this video
can i know alll tools you have if you dont mind?
Thanks. Camera = Leaf Aptus II-10 mounted to a Cambo Ultima.D with a Rodenstock 55mm Apo-Sironar Digital lens. Then Photoshop.
What type of light equipment are you using?
PCB E640 Lights
how much time did this take you ? do you think it could have been faster using 3D modeling ?
Xsmael The Best I don’t think so. Shooting took about an hour including setup. Plus, if it were 3D modeling, I wouldn’t get to play with my camera equipment. :)
what did you spray in between shots?
It was water. Wanted some frames with the rocks wet but didn't end up using them.
whats d name of d camera
Please dont fool people by just saying you are using one light!!! the accessories you use are very superior and that makes the difference dude
+Buddhaditya Padhi How many lights are used in the shoot? One. One light, one $15 diffuser, one $2 white foam core board. And the camera doesn't matter. You could do this with a smartphone buddy.
Thanks bro!! Sorry for sounding rude...but when I see photographers posting these videos, they kind of hide many important elements which contribute to the overall effect
kindly what the setting u use
Around f/11... Shutter speed is @ max sync. Light only as bright as you need it. Can't really provide more info on this. Pretty useless providing exact settings...
work hard...
Nice to know.We however do the back end stuff: Photo Editing services.
Love the music, whats the title of the song pls?
nice track indeed. wish Josh would tell us what it is
Sorry. I have no idea what it is. I don't remember where I got it. Seems like it was one of the royalty free tracks youtube offers.
Isiteketo Mutau shazam it
can someone explain to me how the end product's hand placement has been perfect at 2:50 when they've had a lot of trial and error? :D
Lloyd Albelda The time was stopped on the watches for the shoot. 👍
stone name?
I believe it was slate.
like a car accident. couldn't stop watching. like when my neighbor is working on his yard and all the neighbors go over and watch him.
btw, are you integrating the many different shots with the fog in different directions around teh watches so yuo can get a collection of images to use in photoshop as layers? So, is your final shot a combo of many pictures to make the fog distributed evenly, or was your final shot non-shopped?
and can you tell me what software you're using for the tethered shooting?
Joss R Thanks. Yes. I was shooting for what I knew would be a composite to achieve a cool final look with the fog. I wanted to shoot enough images to know I would have plenty of options to work with.
The capture software is Capture One. It's handling of files is wonderful.
well thank you for the information. your work is incredible.
so just for those of use who are trying to understand (you shoot many, then layer them in phtoshop?)....you DO or DONT utilize many pictures of the same subject for the final product? Or do you hope to catch a perfect shot, one solo image that needs no manipulation in photoshop?
sorry for the redundancy. i live in california, i blame the sunshine. lol.
Joss R No worries. Yeah, the final shot is a composite of a number of different shots. All the watches are the same in each shot, just the fog is different. There should be a post production video of this on my channel as well.
thanks, i'm watching it.
Ice on ice
nice video that shows how much preparation, work and patience that goes into propper product photography - on the results to minor points - I think you could have used the fact that there are 3 watches to build a somewhat stronger composition - more "triangular" - the other point - smoke is really tiresome to get in the right place as you so clearly show - but I think it's a minor flaw that the smoke is "whiter" at the white faced watch and darker at the black faced watch - had it been the other way around the picture would have been better balanced - but as I started to say - nice video and nice work (Y)
+Ruben Forlaget Rhodos Thanks for your comments. Also, I completely agree about the lighter and darker areas relation to the watch faces.
رائع جداً جداً 😍👏🏻
ما هي إعدادات الكاميرا
شكر! وكانت إعدادات الكاميرا و / 11 و 1/250
Who did you intro? Reference please
Brian Ting I made it. :)
Wooooow
:)
I appreciate the creativeness and showing the process, but just not crazy about the final photo. Maybe it needs 'ad text' or something. Plus the photo isn't straight. Just missing something. Cool idea though.
Hello Joshua Geiger
How are you
i want a photographer for my 1 product
how much cost that please?
thank you
Mikel Jack Hi! I'm happy to chat with you about your needs. Shoot me an email: geiger@geigerfoto.com
Wow superb I like yr work #smrutijoshi
很棒,非常好,值得学习。
非常感谢你
Joshua Geiger I am from China
Классно, но мне кажется что дым надо было сделать стелящимся по низу не заходя вверх, наверное лучше было бы применить сухой лёд, а не дым!
I’m more focused to the fog then watches
shate this background Music Link plz..
if u don't mind
It's to beautiful and Hardy
idunno bro, I think smoke is cool, but only one light is a lie, since you moved it and photoshopped some of the lit up watches together, or am I wrong?
Stas k Yes, you are wrong. I only use one light and it doesn't move once I put a grid on it and start shooting the images I use. The only reason more than one image was composited together was to achieve the fog distribution I was going for. The watches are the same in every shot. Light never moves.
What camera is that? its interesting.
Leaf Aptus II-10 mounted to a Cambo Ultima.D with a Rodenstock 55mm Apo-Sironar Digital lens.
رائع جدا جدت
شكرا
