The hate towards them isn't mainly due to their music, but on their stance as a Christian rock band and just Christians in general. As well as their stance against woke culture and cancel culture. And I love them and their music for it all.
The lead singer, John Cooper, is very vocal about his believes, many of which go against the grain with the social issues of today. He has a podcast and some books. “I think today’s a good day to be unpopular” is more nonconforming to the ideologies of modern western culture. I’m a fan!
Been a fan since the early 2000’s! Seen them live several times! Love them and their love for Jesus!! They keep getting better and better! Keep it up John and the rest and my friends!!
Unfortunately, people cant stomach the idea that you can believe in God and still have good music. Its mostly hated because they are not going against their faith for more money. Which is what i love about them.
Country? 🤣 This band, imo is the GOAT in Christian music and rock. Cooper is the only one that takes a stand. His book Wimpy, Weak & Woke is truth!! Not Country at all guys. You should read a bit about who you're covering. I'm praying for you both. God bless!! 🙏
They have gotten hate over the years by girls dont rock which they do now i can name some artists that have females in the band if not lead singers are female. But another thing is that they are a Christian Rock band who is spreading the word of God throughout their lyrics and gives the people what they need to hear.
alot of hate is geared towards John because of his Cooper Podcast and he is very straight forward in his views which has made certain segments of the population triggered
i want to rewrite my comment. I wrote one the other day. I think you guys did a good job with your reaction and you both seem like nice people. I dont see why you would need to read about the band 1st if you dont want to or whatever reason. I was reading the comments the other day and i thought i should writing something and i did but then i thought i need to rewrite Skillet i like some of their videos i have seen. There are a lot of more church style kind of though still some rockiness in some or a lot of their songs. One band is called Passion band or passion group. They are from a church. If you search Melodie Malone Passion band you maybe will see the musical singing group i am talking about. They are Christian. One of the songs i have listened to a lot a video live Melodie Malone singing a song Reckless Love. Passion Sean Curran - Prodigals (Live From Camp, Daytona Beach, FL/2022) is a good video others from them. He used i guess his own band at a Passion conference.
Love the channel (just found you both by cruising YT)... however, you should at least take a quick glance at wiki to have some basic facts before reviewing; just a thought. Skillet was formed in the mid-90s out of Memphis, Tennessee. I think a lot of the so-called "hate" comes from the fact that they were/are/whatever, considered a Christian rock band. There is no need for the hate though. Either you like them or don't, but you should at least respect them regardless of their genre. They are fantastic musicians and have been around nearly 30 years (formed in '96); that says it all. Personally, it's not my specific taste and I probably would not rush out to buy their latest album, but I'm not gonna hate on them either. I would however, go to see them live. Live music does something gooood to my soul. What is wrong with the world? We have gotten to the point now where if you don't like it, you have to bash on them? You have an opinion that doesn't fit their narrative, then they bash on you? Where is the love and respect? Anyone who chooses to become an artist early on, or spends 30 years performing and perfecting their art/craft, deserves nothing but respect. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Your discussion regarding the hate got me going. Last thing, Silverchair is from Australia. Newcastle, New South Wales to be specific. One out of two ain't to shabby... lol. I look forward to more of your content now that I am a subscriber! ☮️&🧡...cap
Hey! Thanks for reacting to "Unpopular"! We're not from Australia 😉. Get ready for more music coming with our new album "Revolution" on Nov. 1. 🎸
😅 yea that was my bad haha looking forward to it for sure!! 🤩
The hate isnt due to their music it is due to their Christian stance

So true

Love Skillet. There phenomenal. ❤❤❤❤❤They are an American Band.
Still good. Back when I first heard "Feel Invincible", I had to buy the album.
@@oldmanjimh3165 That's the song that got me reacquainted with Skillet. Before that I hadn't heard anything since Awake.

They get a lot of hate because they have females in there band and also because they're a Christian rock band
1000% and EXTREMELY unfounded IMO
@@FatalElite92That's my opinion, too.
I love you guys so much ❤ I am a rock singer with a rock band 🎸.

This is the most country they’ve gone from what I’ve heard so there’s that…you should react to the song from their last album surviving the game
True but there nothing like Nickel back 😂
Fun fact: no they are not Australian, but they ARE an American Christian rock band from tennessee
We were actually called out by them for that 🤣
Please react to these ones by Skillet: Ash in the wind,Revolution,Defector,Not Afraid.
If by Australian you mean Wisconsin, then yes.
Haha yup
