Tearing Down A Burnt House

- Tearing down a burnt house. This house caught fire a few months ago, it was a total loss and the owners wanted it down to start construction on their new home. I didn't tear out the concrete because they plan to build the same style of house back on the foundation. It took two days to tear down and load out in trucks. It was 28 loads in 3 dump trucks to get it hauled off. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #housedemo

Simple little house tear down. Oh, don't hit the two sewer cleanouts, don't hit the water supply line, stay off the concrete, don't cave in any of the berm wall and don't let a little blown insulation bother you. I think a second round of burning would have probably helped you. The berm house style always looks like the house got swallowed up into the earth. Strange. It looks like a cool beverage after work project. You made the best of it. Great job, as always.
lol that’s usually how it goes. I enjoyed it but tough to not damage those certain things. Appreciate you watching as always
Dump truck time lapse is my favorite
I enjoy them too
Hate to see a burnt up home, glad no one was hurt! I’m thinking Let’s Dig might start watching your vids for tips 😆
🤣🤣 he may
I grew up in and have now inherited a house similar to that. Great for temperature regulation, storm resistance and so quiet. Just have to keep humidity in check here in north carolina. The design must have been featured in Popular Mechanics or Mother Earth News back in the 60s. I'm too lazy to research that right now, but I think that is where the idea came to Dad. I'll have to ask his little brother who is still with us.
That makes sense on all points. We have a few others in town but not many
I've seen earth homes but this is the first berm home I've seen. Kind of different, to say it nicely. The front looks normal but the back is........well, the back. Good point about the Letsdig18 method. You and the 2150 handled the demolition nicely.
Yeah they are different looking. Not my taste. Thank you! Appreciate you watching
You did a good job on that cleanup!
I built a house like that (about the same size) in 1982, my next to last home I built before going into heavy construction. The south side was glass and the other 3 sides were bermed up with dirt, almost identical as this house. The owners said their utilities were really cheap. It's still being lived in today.
It was a fast 6 week build, no bracing required. A concrete floor, 3 walls of concrete, wood interior framing with regular cabinets, carpets, doors and windows, just like a normal home.
I'll go away now and quit 'tootin' my own horn...lol.
That’s cool! I figured the utilities would be pretty low. Pretty much like having a full basement 65 degrees year round. Thanks again for watching
That's a super comfortable tornado shelter.
That’s for sure!
That was an interesting house. I’ve never seen one like that.
Great job on the tear down and clean up. Thanks for sharing Brandon.
Yeah I’ve only seen two in town they are a bit odd lol! Appreciate you watching
I like tear down videos. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed this one. I’ve seen a couple of these berm houses over the years. Very unique homes. Thanks Brandon.
You’re welcome! Appreciate you watching! Yeah they don’t seem very common at least not around here
Looks great now you can walk around the work site 👍🏻🇺🇲
Thank you! Yep should give the builder plenty of room now
Fun! Looking good as usual.
There is a house like that that I pass on the way to the farm. It's perpendicular to the road so there is a clear view of it. One floor and dirt on three sides. I think that they are a poor man's answer to the full earth contact homes of the 1970's.
Thank you! I believe you are right! 😁
Every summer we have a couple new dumpster companies jump into the business. They always under cut all the competition trying to get established. Most never last more than a few years tops. One company several years ago were into their second year and closed the doors. I knew of a handful of people that had dumpsters on their property/jobs and were stuck with them sitting there for well over a year. While the bankruptcy courts figured things out. Could you imagine having a brand new home that came with a permanent dumpster for the front yard!🤣 They were scattered all over 3 counties!
Have a great and safe 4th of July,Elite n Fam!🇺🇸🇺🇸
Seems like that happens a lot. Appreciate you watching and have a great 4th!
When you first drug that mattress out, I was hoping you would save it to clean the floor with. I used one once to dress up dirt after I took some trees out in a backyard. It worked surprisingly well on dirt.
Ya did good brother, stay cool when you can.
Yeah the mattress is fantastic for cleaning up debris on concrete or even yards. Sifts everything out and leaves the grass
Something so satisfying about tearing a house down 🍺🍺 Great job B.
I agree! I really enjoy it. Thank you!
Love DEMO DAY!!!!
Me too man!
Great job Brandon!! Cleaned that up quick, fast and in a hurry!! 😂🤣
Thank you! Yeah it didn’t take as long as I thought it would
We have one of those berm houses about 6 miles up the road from us. Quiet the deal back when it was built years ago.
Yeah I think I’ve only seen one other one in town. Definitely a unique style
Great work! Happy 4th of July to you and your family.
Thank you! Happy 4th of July to you!
These videos are always special. Experieince it's what it's all about and we liked your thinking about "slow & steady" being the best way to do this, plus you were very careful working around the house so that worked out nicely. The pile really compacted up better than I thought it would, too, and we always get a kick out of using the old mattresses as a "mop". You should have video'd when you blew it out - I;m sure you were in a big cloud, LOL. Glad you got that interior pic of "before" - the fire really destroyed the place. Did they say what caused the fire? Electrical malfunction? Have a happy 4th, Brandon.
Yeah I use to have a different outlook on it and it was a huge mess to clean up so now I take a little more time. lol the mattress works so well 😁 oh yeah you couldn’t see anything when I blew the basement out. I’m sure the neighbors were pissed. I believe it was an electrical fire she said. Luckily no one was home or hurt. Thank you! You guys have a great 4th Of July too!
This is new to me to see from you, liked, viewed, shared, subscribed.... Is there anything you don't do? Great content and great job!
Thanks! I try to do it all 😁
amazing....
Thanks!
Good video
Thank you!
You would think the heat would take the strength out of the concrete might suddenly start cracking one day.
I was curious about that too
Home Wrecker!!! 😂
😁😁
Epic 😊😊😊😊
Thanks!
I think it’s time for some new tracks for the machine looking bad
There is still a lot of tread they are just cut up from all the rock
Great job 👍🏻 glad you you posted since Chris didn’t
Thanks man.
@@eliteearthworksllc no problem 😊
Chris was off today. Counting his money😂
@@BZ1340lol 😂Chris is counting his money for his next purchase
I wonder if the concrete suffered any heat cracking, that causes problems later on
I wondered that too from the heat
The ole 2150 made short work of that demo and are them rubber pads or steel pads with rubber pads
Yes it did. Steel with rubber pads
I wonder how many loads if it had not burned ? Seems like 15% maybe
That’s probably a good guess.
Does everything you hauled away go to landfill or is any of it recycled?
It all went to a landfill. There wasn’t much to recycle
No salvage the aluminum?
Looked like the only thing salvageable was the garage door. Most of the rest was vinyl. The facia and gutters probably wouldn’t be worth the time and effort. Did you see anything else?
How do you pay the dump truck's
By the hour then for each load at the dump
So did you find the random bra lying in there….🤔😂
Not this time 🤣
Ask Chris about the pastel toy in a mobile mansion he demolished.😊😊😊😊
