For someone who can compose Mana Ho Tum Behad Haseen to Zid Na Karo to Vana Vana Velluvaye (For Chiranjeevi Garu) to Dard Ki Ragini to Kabhi Alvida Na Kenna to Kisi Nazar ko Tera Aetbaar Aaj bhi hai to Yaad Aara Hai Tera Pyaar to Naino Mein Sapna to Humko Aaj Kal Hai - a man of such rare compositional range is definitely underrated.

The song Raat Baki is a favourite even in 2021. It compels a visit every few weeks. It will endure through future decades. Bappi da could not have crafted it better. He’s blended the right notes in the right places that allows the tune flow softly without imposing over the listener’s mind. The melody and interludes simply seep in, bringing a calm sense of pleasure dotted with small bubbles of thrill and excitement.
Parveen Babi was sheer class...the ultimate beauty blessed with a gorgeous face, a sensitive voice, and a sleek body draped with flawless, peach coloured skin. She carried herself impressively through every performance and stood with distinction among her co stars. Sad that she ended her final years physically battered and exploited, though Bollywood was less rotten then from what it is now. Can’t forgive Big B for not helping her when she was undergoing extreme stress and loneliness.
As a fan, I’ll be in love with Parveen always, forever. May her soul find heavenly peace and a freedom from rebirth ❤️🥰😘🌸🌺🙏

Listening to this song is my way of commemorating the life of the eternal Ms.Parveen Babi. As I listen to it, Ms.Babi's life flashes before my eyes, and I see how she lived for art, beauty, commerce and self determination, and made a name for herself, all by herself, while doing so.
She left us with many memories, and showed us that being a candle in the wind yet living on your own terms is perhaps much better than living a long extended stay on this planet though on someone else's terms.
I still remember all the emotions I felt when I first heard this song; a combination of sadness, happiness, joy, awe & triumph.
