This competition is a local traditional song contest of high schools across the country. The singers and musicians as well as the show people and all the scenes were done by the students of this school. The winner will receive the royal trophy. In this show, it belongs to a school in the north that wants to present the culture of northern Thailand.

A 100 years ago folklore story of 15-year-old prince of Chiang Mai was sent to study in Burma. He met and fell in love with an ordinary villege girl. When the prince graduated, he had to go back to Chiang Mai and the girl had to disguise as a man in order to follow him. Because Chiang Mai and Burma were enemies, the prince couldn't marry any Burmese girl. So, the prince arranged elepant procession to send her back to Burma with tears. The story ended up with the prince was sad to death and the girl ordained to be a nun for the rest of her life.
The way she use her hair to wipe his feet is to show the highest respect and true love to the man. ❤
In asian traditional, we respect about head. Head is higher than any thing on human body. So the react as she use the hair to cleaning the shoe for the guy who is her love that wordless

It is a show that brings the love story in the history of the son of a prince of Lanna who has a relationship with a commoner girl from Burma.

Long time ago, the Prince of Chiangmai fell in love with the commoner woman of Myanmar (Burma).
They both made a commitment in front of the Budha Image to love each other until the death and one which breach the commitment shall die.
The Prince of Chiangmai forsook the commitment, came back to crown the throne and passed away @ B.E. 2456.
Besides, in this show. When she had a haircut, represented and meanful, she cuts off something and tries to move on as sadness.
Sudden, the Prince of Chiangmai fell down and passed away.
At the opening of the show, They both gave an oath in front of the buddha that they will love each other till death tears them apart. It's a secret love story date back 110 years ago in the northern of Thailand. The crown prince of Chiangmai (Chao Noi) had been sent aboard secretly to Mawlamyaing in Myanmar to study. There, he fell in love with a most beautiful merchants in town named Mamia. They both deeply fell in love each other and gave an oath to love each other forever. When Chao-noi finishing his study and had to return back to Chiangmai, his home town. He let Mamia disguise as a man and follow his elephant procession back to Chiangmai then he will ask his family for permission to marry Mamia. (Scene 2)
(Scene 3) This scene show how much they love each other even though they might know it would be a tragic love at the end.
Thing wouldn't go his way, due to political at that time. Chiangmai was a state under Siam and Myanmar, under British Control, was in a situation trying to colonize Siam. So if Siam had known that crown prince of Chiangmai was sent to study in Myanmar, it would be interpreted that Chiangmai, the biggest state in Lanna cluster, chose British side rather than Siam. Moreover, if the marriage happens, it would be fully interpreted that way, so his family aggressively denied this marriage and forced him to sent Mamia back home and married with a princess that the family prepared for him.
(Scene 4) He then told Mamia that it was his fault that he couldn't keep his oath but he will love her forever and reluctantly sent her home with highest honor on elephant procession. Mamia also denied her fate and jump off the elephant and ran toward him to give him a final farewell. She then unrolled her hair bun and wipe his foot with her hair. It was interpreted that she gave all her life to this man and this man only. Mamia headed back to Myanmar and still keep her oath loving no one else but him. She dedicated her life to Buddhism and was ordained as a nun while Chao-noi, a prince crown, couldn't move on with this sadness and choose to get drunk to forget everything. From months to years he still couldn't move on and became an alcoholic. Finally, he was sick and passed away at an early age, 30years old.
(Scene 5) Mamia (the singer) came back to Chiangmai for his funeral where the death tore them aparts.
Some would says it is a folklore and Mamia was not exist for real. Anyway, it is make sense that there was no official note in Chiangmai stated about this story because if it was noted, it will be a proof evidence that Chiangmai secretly turn to British side. So this love story was told from generation to generation nowadays. Today, the royal mausoleum of Chiangmai governor family at Suandok Temple, there is a mysterious tomb (Koo) stands aside Chao-noi's tomb. All believe that mysterious tomb belongs to Mamia. Finally they were back together again.
