In its segment, only the RAV4 top Limited trim used to have ventilated front seats optional, but even Toyota made that standard for 2022. The Tucson & Sportagr have it standard in their respective top trims as well so it's not like it's optional there. It is optional in many other luxury compact crossovers if you're cross-shopping this with a compact crossover from a luxury or premium brand
Bought a 2021 CX-5 Signature in Machine Grey a couple weeks back and it is just a fantastic CUV. When Mazda comes out with their inline-6 hybrids and EV equivalents over the next few years (thankfully a joint venture with Toyota), that’s when I might upgrade, especially if they manage to keep the driving dynamics and premium (but value for money) feel of this CX-5 generation.
I bought a 2021 Red CX5 touring AWD with a special options pkg added. So it made it pretty much into a Grand Touring at a cheaper price. Which I’m loving driving it.
I had an option between a 2020 and 2021 CX-5, and I decided to go with the 20 model cause of the touch screen, but got pearl white exterior and parchment interior with the grand touring package and I believe I got a pretty good deal even though is not turbo charged.
I was a little surprised at the 7 rating. But great review. This is still my first choice of vehicle. I work for a Toyota dealership and just not that impressed with the vehicles.
A few observations. I bought a used 2021 Mazda CX5 Signature (Canada - Dec 2022). One minor gripe is the rear badges. The Canadian CX5 for some reason do not have the same as USA models. Under the CX5 missing is the Signature badge. Another thing i noticed is, my screen is touch screen. From Carplay i can touch every icon and they work. I can touch the Mazda icon - brings me to the Mazda screen. Everything is touch enabled. Overall though, i just love this car. The only thing i "hate" is that i love it so much, i cant stop driving it. I am going to wear it out too fast 🙂, As for gas, i compromise and use 91 octane. (Shell 91). This is my second Mazda, the first one i owned was a Mazda RX2. (rotary engine) And i loved that car too.
I know the turbo doesn’t have it but what about the cylinder deactivation? Is that going to cause problems? The CX 30 took it out for 2021 I believe and there are some recalls re the cylinder deactivation that I am not sure have good fixes. This is what is holding me back from buying a Cx 5
@@CarCoachReports , Thanks 👍, I really enjoy your reviews. One feature I like in the CX-5 are the 40/20/40 folding rear seats. This is usually found only on luxury SUV'S. Thanks 👍 again for your TH-cam channel.
Thank you for an updated review. Just purchased a '21 Carbon Edition FWD non-turbo. I am upgrading from a 2008 mazda 3 manual and feel like this a great step up to a fun-to-drive, reasonably priced vehicle. No regrets!
Hi Lauren, Will you be able to review the newly refreshed Mini Cooper S 2022? It’s my dream car and I would love to hear what you have to say if it’s worth the money.
We will, just waiting on Mini to send one in the next few weeks. We drove the 2021 and have 2 Mini's in the family. Love the product! They can be more expensive to insure but a blast to drive for sure.
Hopefully that will get addressed in the redesigned CX5 and CX50. Thats one of my major differences driving more towards the Forester. They are adding 2 inches overall length, likely the cargo area. A sore arse just doesn't get it in this price range.
It's not that bad. Also the rav4 lacks seat height adjustment for the front passenger my partner is tall and head touched the ceiling in the rav4. On of the reasons we went with the cx5 as we both drive and are passengers when we swap. Just have to try it out n see if it suits ur particular circumstances.
** IF ** you are looking for a 2021 CX-5 with a Turbo 2.5L PLEASE have it looked at by a mechanic. ALL Turbo '21 2.5L Mazda Models have been suffering from oil consumption issues due to the valve guides/seals leaking. There is a Mazda TSB as well as a CA lawsuit that has been filed. Not sure if this was caused by supply chain issues back then? It was during the height of the pandemic. -Note: Some '21 2.5L Turbo models are unaffected at this time, and the normally aspirated ones so far are fine as well.
She fails to mention it's #1 competitor the Forester. Forrester much lower on power but great window visibility, greater fuel economy, greater handling on snow, better leather in the same top trim, and quite a bit more utility space. Forester's greatest down side is the CVT. Power means very little until you reach below 5 seconds from 0-60 or above 9. Simply this class of vehicles are all compact grocery getters.
@@rafalpgresiak629 I suppose anything can suck if you don't have use for what it was designed for. The Forester is a comfortable cruiser to enjoy the great outdoors, camping and such, with great mpg. I really appreciate you taking so much time to explaining the details. This is one of the best reviews/overview of the Mazda. Thanks again!

Another good review!

I own a 2019 CX-5 Signature with over 36,500 trouble free miles. I love it. IMO it competes with CUV's costing $10-15,000 more.

If performance is an 8 , what in this class is a 10?
Nice review. Your hair looks great,

I was so close to purchasing the 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition, but due to the limited rear space, I purchased a Toyota 4Runner instead.
exactly. cx5 is a compact suv while 4runner is way bigger than cx5
The Mazda CX-5 is the most comfortable SUV I’ve driven. BUT the design is getting kinda stale though.
Lovely style upgrades included for 2022
The "wood look," is wood.
I love my cx-5
Great car
Great looking car. Excellent quality
Automatic thumbs up!!

Mazda has got to change the seats in the CX-5. Too stiff for a modern car. Other than that, love the CX-5...

Nice car but only for 2 people....2nd row leg space is not so good as compared to CR-V and Rav4

Its smaller in size, cramped inside and smaller cargo space compared to CRV and Rav4. Why pay same money for smaller size and outdated design.
Mazda doesn't make turbo models for Europe. So pass.
