    Loved your channel, thanks for sharing the information. As an oriental orthodox Christian, we have long prayers for 50 days lent season and do 40 prostrations. Subscribed and prayers for you. Love from India.

    I’ve given up sugar and most of my time on my device and I’m starting to do chores around the house without being asked, thinking about the prayers that I’m saying and exercising a lot more. I’m also going to be helping my family with a lot more things then I would usually thanks to this delightful video. Thank you for helping me get closer to god.❤

    I am not in the position to donate money at the moment so I will be volunteering at a local charity 💕I can’t wait to start next week. This is my first time doing lent and I’m so thankful that God has called me back to him 🙏🏼I’m already reaping the benefits

    One of your best videos yet, Amber. Those of us who have witnessed your TH-cam journey can see the growth. You're so clear, thoughtful, eloquent, and still very fun and very YOU. 😊 God bless you and your ministry.

    I didn't understand it when I was a child but at the Catholic school I attended on fat Tuesday would make us a massive pancake breakfast. My father would also donate maple syrup that his Dominican aunt had harvested.

    My mom always considers giving up coffee for Lent, but my dad doesn't let her, for the same reason you don't do the bread and water fast Amber 😂 my mom turns into a beast if she doesn't get her caffeine lol

      Is Great Lent a Joke to you?
      If you're doing it for Christ you'll enjoy those sufferings otherwise you're just doing it for yourself.

      @tineye316 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amalp9784 sorry, I don't understand what you mean. All I'm saying is, you shouldn't give something up if it will make you miserable to the point where you can't control it and you affect other people.

      @@TheReligiousHippie it did, no complications, just pain now lol and thinking everything is the onset of dry socket 😭 although yesterday I messed up the time I took my pain meds, so I took it later than normal, so it took a while for it to get back into my system,so last night I was up with a ton of pain. Prayed a few rosaries and offered it up hopefully someone in purgatory made it to heaven 😂

    I intially planned to get rid of social media for Lent and I even managed a whole week, but I changed my plans and I'm giving up Porn and consuming all forms of sexual content up for Lent instead. And tearing myself down.

    Hey Amber, I've been fasting every Wednesday and Friday (sometimes breaking the fast in the evening after my full meal out of hospitality, but I gave that up for lent) since I watched a video where you suggested it last summerish. I have faced a few problems with fasting, I find it hard to stay focused when I'm hungry (I'm not that great even when I'm not hungry) and sometimes I can be irritable. I'm in high school so I guess those things are normal, they're just heightened when I'm hungry. Today, I was sick, so I didn't fast. While I wasn't distracted by being hungry today, I feel like I've lost something that I was giving to God. I want to keep up my fasting and I'll start again Wednesday. Do you have any suggestions for staying focused and calm while fasting? I feel like I have the outward appearance of someone who is not fasting as Jesus tells us to but I'm not at peace with myself when it comes to the fast.

      most people are the same, its part of the suffering that we can offer up to God when we fast. Fasting isn't suppose to be easy, its a suffering for God and theirs no better way to show our love for God then to suffer for our sin and the sin of others. Remember we have to suffer because we sin. If every thing was easy then we would forget about God and we would be not proving that we love God.
      Hopefully this helps, if you need more info just ask me.

      @olivianeukam5636 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fendtclaas8689 Yeah I mean I get that it's just I sin wayyy more when I fast and I'm getting better at it it's just my teenage appetite makes me want to go crazy sometimes and it's not really something I can just offer up and continue on my day about. But I'm keeping it up lol.

      @@olivianeukam5636 or course I understand what you mean. How old are you? You're not really obliged too fast if you're under 21 years of age, but you can do without certain stuff like deserts and what not during Lent. It would be wrong to not properly nourish your body if you're still growing.

    • @olivianeukam5636
      @olivianeukam5636 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fendtclaas8689 I'm about to be 16, so I am getting close to not growing anymore. What I do sometimes (that kinda feels like cheating but maybe it's not?) is eat more than what would typically be considered a "full meal" for my full meal. I increase the size to what I would normally eat on a day when I hadn't been snacking just by chance. On a side note, I have given up sweets among some other stuff for lent.

    • @fendtclaas8689
      @fendtclaas8689 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olivianeukam5636 it's ok to eat a bigger size meal especially if your eating much less at your other meals and if your under age. It's maybe better to do it that way for Lent so you're still getting proper nourishment for the day, plus you're still suffering and fasting for God.
      For children anyway sweets and desserts or even delicious foods are the best way to fast during Lent.
      I'm glad you're trying and I hope God gives you the strength to persevere.
