Brilliant video, I’m glad you had a good year of reading, too! I’ve got my copy of Way of Edan and Kinslayer for Christmas, and I cannot wait to start Murderbot and Tress 😎☺️
Great stuff, Andrew! I left TV writing a few years ago and dove much more into prose (writing and reading to really dig into classic fantasy and new work) and I love your channel! Keep rocking, man, and best to you from near Boston!
Thanks! Love top 10!! Definitely adding Murderbot and DCC… and the rest of them (if I haven’t already red them of course)
Thanks for the video, you had some books I love on your list so I picked up a few I hadn't heard of.
Dungeon Crawler Carl is a great series! Even better as an audiobook.
Love your enthusiasm. Thanks for the recommendations. 👍
Awesome video. I have to give Dungeon Crawler Carl a try. Thank you!
Thank you!! I am going to start Carl the Dungeon Crawler!!
Great lineup!
I’ll be starting the cosmere series this year can wait to get to tress of Esmeralda
Thanks for sharing your top reads! Now I have more to add to my backlog 😂🎉
Excellent video, thank you.
Finished Sword of Kaigan on Friday. So good.
I’m kinda addicted to the opening😂 “it’s the top 10 time”
I would love to see you have a spoiler video for The book that wouldn't burn. Such a good, interesting deep book! Definitivt one of my top 12 ❤ I'll do my list when 2023 is over, still 3 days of reading 😂😂❤
I knew you would like Dungeon Crawler Carl!! it's a great book.
Nice dude. Yeah DCC is the best! Are you part of the Princess Posse? I liked your recommendation for Wooding's novels, although I agree with you about Shadow Casket. I think I'll try some Lawrence next.
Dungeon Crawler Carl number 5 made me cry. It gets intense and emotional and I love it. Can't wait to read 6 but i don't want to be caught up with the series and have to wait. Great top 10 :)
It's so much fun to see other booktubers' books of the year. 😃 Jade War was my biggest letdown of the year, and I've avoided the whole Lit RPG genre so far, but you convinced me to give DCC a try on audio. 🙂 My video's up later today, but all I can say is: read The Spear Cuts Through Water ASAP. 😍
DCC is my first LitRPG so I don't know how normal it is for the genre haha! I have The Spear Cuts Through Water on my TBR
Just got your book and am looking forward to reading it when I am done with Dungeon Crawler Carl 😂❤😂
If you haven’t started I highly recommend He who fights with monsters - I am impatiently waiting for book 11 😊
I was i troduced to drew hayes this year. His villan code series is a lot of fun. But i have enjoyed everything of his that i read.
Thanks for the recommendation of dungeon crawler Carl, such a fun series
Happy New Year Dragon Man! I read Patrick Rothfuss’ The Name of the Wind. I am currently reading God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert, and your book is coming up. Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy is on its way. Have you read Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Moro, yet?
I haven’t read Yumi yet, but I’m really looking forward to it! It made a lot of these lists :)
“It was awful I hated it 10/10” is a perfect description for Hobb hahah
Oh bless you reading Kaigen right after…
Fonda Lee’s character work is unmatched. Hilo never quite recovers from Jade War for me 😩Though Bero is scum on the bottom of a shoe for sure 😌
If you liked Jade War... Wait for Jaed Legacy. It's absolutely amazing.
I thought The Shadow Casket was too similar to The Ember Blade, but the characters are great. I really loved Grub and Fen here-on audio in particular, Grub is just a delight!
Agreed the characters are the highlight of the books. Grub is the best!
I’ve read all but the combat codes!
Hello Andrew...i want to ask a question, you love to collect novel, love to read and you have a library i guess!! Do you rent books also to others? I want to know, what do you do the rest of the books that you are not currently reading......
DCC is def one of my fave series!
Came to see The Shadow Casket, stayed for all the other great books. My 2024 tbr is already too long to read in a year… And it’s not even 2024 yet! 🤣
Wow, DCC made the list?! * pretends to be surprised *
Haha, no but really, I love your picks!! Can't wait for you to continue your RotE journey and be totally wrecked. And I am so eager to read Yumi and Tress, they sound like such great bingeable stories!! Hope you find many more faves in 2024 🥰
I know, it was quite the plot twist... Haha thank you! All the best for 2024 Esmay
Where do I get the special edition green bone saga books?!?!
I hate that you got me hooked on dungeon crawler carl.... I started the first audiobook last week, already finished and starting on the second. It is the only reason I have audible, and I am not even mad about it!
Dungeon Crawler Carl is sooo f'n fun.
I really liked Jade War as well, though not as much as Jade City. Jade Legacy will be read in early 2024.
I DNFed The Book That Wouldn't Burn. I was very bored and 100 pages in, i just didn't care about the characters and about what happened at all, so i just stopped. I'm glad you had a better experience.
Tress and Yumi are both very high on my tbr
No order (except the first):
The Will of the Many
Dungeon Crawler Carl
Red Rising first trilogy
This is How you Lose the Time War
Black Mouth
Sandman Slim
Hidden Pictures
Dresden (first 4)
I only read the Farseer trilogy out of The Realm of the Elderlings, but I can tell you that if Assassin’s Apprentice hurt you, Assassin’s Quest will destroy you😅
Eleventh Cycle blew me away this year.
i agree on most. But placing Shadow Casket in the same list as yumi, tress, jade war, Robin Hobb.... is completely wrong.
Shadow Casket is a bad book, with a convoluted plot, and more holes in that plot that swiss chesse. where every main character has a plot armor.
The Fall is All There Is
Reincarnation Blues
Legacy of Brick and Bone
Sword of Kaigen
Dungeon Crawler Carl
Draginblood Assassin
The Dead Take the A Train
Our Share of the Night
Jase City
Lord Foul's Bane (I've been trying to finish this book for 40 years 🤦♀️)
🍃 🌪️🤸🌀😮😰: THE COMBAT CODES!!!
a 3= min ad turns me off totally to wanting to see your video.
I did not have "BookTuber convinces me to read a LitRPG called Dungeon Crawler Carl" on my 2023 Bingo Card YET HERE WE ARE. Thanks, I look forward to listening to that book (and probably series) in 2024. Happy New Year!
The whole series is fantastic
It’s so good!!
We love a good plot twist
So fun. I'm relistening to DCC now 😛
DCC is such a great audiobook and it's a lot deeper than I thought it would be. The amount of character development and social commentary was so cleanly laced with the dark hilarity.
