This is not about the border or fentanyl. It is about trading partners paying down the USA 36 trillion national debt. Not a single illegal immigrant, nor a granual of drugs could pass over the border; Trump will still impose tariffs. Well our government policies have decimated our manufacturing industry. We need graphite electrodes to melt metal and we have zero capacity to make graphite electrodes. We have to import 100% of the crucial necessary graphite to drive metal industry. EVERYTHING metal must come from a foundry that melts metal... everything. But Canada is far from self sufficient in many many areas.

You're right about the tariffs....but the idea is to get American companies to buy local. That would leave Canada with a much smaller market. @@longdong3889 The tools and infrastructure are a major problem. That doesn't mean, however, that Trudeau can pass off his federal responsibilities to provincial governments to protect Canada's borders. Trudeau has the power to send the Armed Forces to the border to defend Canada's sovereignty. It's his job, not the premiers.
Also, wearing green in the desert is awful. In no way am I suggesting that military personnel receive substandard equipment, clothing and training. The federal government has placed its importance on other things that they think are more important than strengthening its military. Now, Canada faces a great economic threat based on its national security.....how do you think the federal government should respond??
