John Deere W540 AHC Sensor Replacement

We had to change out another height sensor on the header of the combine. So thought we would take you along for the ride!

Adam Cleminson No just good friends! Old man wouldn't be very keen in featuring in the videos I dont think!! Always try and capture some farming time on camera, but sadly its very often just to busy / hands full to have the time to record as well!

Good vid, just so you're aware them potentiometers can be put on wrong and show a negative voltage so its worth seeing which way the centre of the sensor turns when removing the old one.

you could fit a non contact magnetic pot. would require a new bracket but the pot itself is totally sealed :)

They haven't redesigned them because they are making ££ from selling sensors lol

Dont know why they havent changed the design of these they have been shit for years always breaking

05clenharth I believe they have now changed the design as it happens 2016 onwards, but could be wrong!

Darren Lobb Ah right ho thats good to here, im a John Deere fitter so will have a look on the parts system on monday just out of interest, there are allot of changes for the W&T combines for next year they look like they are going to be some weapon!

05clenharth Indeed have noticed another big update. We have made several significant adjustments to the walkers / insides of ours to get it up to capacity, hopefully they have this sussed out from the factory now!!
