tbh its not even about that overall, Respawn never managed to support their games overall. It happened to be Titanfall, sure, but it is mainly overall Respawn issue not being able to support lifeservice, like ever
@@oussama7132 Many players don't play games just to get skins, myself included. I play games because they're fun, and whatever is going on with their lootboxes and battle passes doesn't matter since it's just cosmetics. I quit Apex because it just isn't fun anymore, not because of price changes to cosmetics.
I have around 1300 hours on apex in total on steam. I haven't opened the game in months. That massive cheating scandal and how much the game has dropped in quality over each season. It's nowhere near the as fun as it used to be. It's crazy. And now they are trying to double charge us for the battlepass???? Yea, fuck you EA. Apex, CoD, Battlefield, Overwatch etc, seems like all these juggernaut IP's are dying. It's kinda sad to see but at the same time, completely deserved.
i quit last year around november. I was a x6 solo master mnk player and from what ive seen people using scripts, cronus, and actual cheats in masters+ lobbies. Its been this way for a while to the point after i get masters i dnt even play apex anymore and hop on my smurf just to mess around in the lower ranks. Plus the nerfs to bangalore the only AA counter makes me not want to return until EA grows the balls to nerf AA instead of cookin up another trans/whatever the fk character and properly give an anticheat. But instead the only apex content is whatever ai art ea uses to charge $500 for the next heirloom while people are dumb to fork out that money on a skin that you cant resell
@@ashmars_ Uhh I'm not really sure to be honest. There's not really another FPS game like apex. That's why I fell in love with the game to begin with. I've just been grinding CS lately and trying out xDefiant. If you're a PC movement nerd like me then try out doom eternal. But as for other BR games similar to Apex there isn't one out there.
It's the cheaters, smurfs, and especially microtransactions becoming more prevalent in-game than before. The Iron Crown Collection Event was just the start, and we've since moved into the Final Fantasy event with the $400 death box AND this new Battle Pass system. It's unbelievably exhausting. 😒
the Final fantasy event was just too much ....I was sick to my stomach when I would see someone in game with that $400 buster sword....someone actually spent money on that trash...that's like the cost of a next gen fucking gaming console or a high end processor ...for a fucking cosmetic skin!!!! ....that you don't even physically own!!!!!...if Apex dies tomorrow you lost hundreds or thousands of dollars in skins and cosmetics
HisWattson has literally had days and days of streams killed, he'll fake queue, hide his queue, and no matter what the same cheater will join on at least one account into that match, where he then targets Wattson and then instantly crashes the server after killing him.
I also hate how the ranked system works. Like Im a platinum casual player. I really just play for fun, but I always get matched with former Master/Diamond ranked every game. Imagine the skill gap there
Same, my best ever rank was gold and i worked really hard to earn that gold. Yet I am always in matches with diamond/masters/predators. I dont care that i have played since beta, I am not even half s good as the players i get matchmade with. I also cant do any of the movement glitches everyone in my lobbies can do.
That's because those players' current rank are also platinum. This was literally how it worked back in season 13 before they changed it. The previous ranking system with hidden mmr was even worse. With hidden mmr, if you are a pretty good player you could literally match with current preds/masters in bronze.
@@FadedMaple07 but imagine matching players who were preds last season and bronze last season just because of the rank reset (split or new season). It's not a healthy system and not a beginner friendly game too.
@@judemungcal1131 it takes us a few games to get to gold then plat, and plat asks for a bit more then a few so, we end up in diamond, and as soon as you're on d3 you will be in pred lobbies without issues
Cheaters are far more worse than what we think. I remember I watched one video about a guy that tells how they sell these cheats for $$$ and how they do it subtly. They purposely target non-streamers because they knew they won't get any attention compared to professional streamers. There's also one guy named HisWattson getting targeted blatantly whenever he streams. It's soo bad that he had to stop streaming for days. Now with the new battlepass system, this could be the last straw of active players they would kill off. It's really sad that it's the only FPS I've been stuck with for years and never have I been in any FPS since CS 1.6. That says a lot how this game has soo much potential but it's owned by EA so.. we probably know what's next in this game.
@@Sauczi lol they don't need to watch their stream. They use cheats to know which player they are going to avoid just by looking at the map. The last ALGS that got breached by a hacker showed a label of player names around the map with Hal and Gen. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Yep. The titanfall community is Braindead. Apex legends surpassed anything it could have possibly been. And is what gaming needed. People forget how prolific I this game was on release compared to other games on release. Like the finals. Apex blew that game out of the water.
@@sirtoxic5147 ya it was good for its time. but if they just made another one like how they did going from titanfall 1 to 2. it wouldnt have made it big. as a company, if you didnt make a br when brs were blowing up. your braindead. them making a br while being as innovated as they were, blew up anything that a titanfall 3 could have been.
Been playing this game for 3 years all I have to say is that this is the best fps game made in modern gaming with all of the wrong people developing and controlling it
I have over 8000 hours in Apex 90k kills on my Pathfinder the #1 Pathy of the Netherlands yet I've not touched this game in like 2 months the greed of EA on top of the massive cheater problem is what's killing it.. And it's not looking too good for next season either..
I played Apex Legends seriously from seasons 1 to 3 but after a long break, I returned and uninstalled it within hours. Despite not playing for almost 2 years, I was placed in bronze/rookie lobbies filled with Diamond+ players. This ruins the game for me and others who want their rank to reflect their actual skill level. The hidden MMR system means we secretly have two ranks, and the visible rank doesn't matter. This approach makes it frustrating to return and climb ranks. It's not fun to struggle in mismatched lobbies, and it can drive players away. From a development standpoint, this doesn't help retain the player base.
Its literally corporate greed..... I believe its illegal under business consumer laws...... Not paying for proper IT so your paying customers suffer...... Is illegal
@@holeindanssock156 I dont think wages are that bad. This looks more like a case of dispassionate and incompetency in either the product owners and/or the devs
5k hours in apex - low master, high diamond player, love the game but haven't played for weeks. Pubs are insanely sweaty due to cranked SBMM, havoc is broken, rev/conduit super annoying. Burst gun meta is annoying. I could care less about the monetization, I buy the passes and complete them just because I play a lot anyway. But yeah, the legend and weapon meta sucks, most high elo lobbies have some form of cheating going on, whether full-on cheats, strike packs and XIMs, or just shamelessly teaming. Even solos, which is pubs, has people teaming. The game is just obnoxious to play right now, which is a shame.
I am not boycotting Apex. I am simply quitting playing garbage. EA and Respawn took a fantastic game and made it trash. They do not care, and this latest BP change is them milking what they can from the game before it is dead. Psychopaths will do psychopathic things, and since I do indeed have a choice.. I choose not to take part in their pathetic schemes.
Apex was never a well taken care of game. How long were hitboxes just straight up broken (pathfinder's hitbox being much smaller than his model for instance), fasle hits where you'd see bloodsplatter, but enemy recieved no damage, how expensive the kunai was (assuming average luck), how long it took to get any updates at all. However people loved it and kept playing it because of the movement and arcade shooter BR feel that no other game had or still has. That shit has just kept increasing and it's reaching a breaking point.
There is just literally no content and they haven't innovated for many seasons now. Every season is starting to feel the same without significant changes to the game modes.
Seasons 7-13 we were getting new guns, legends, maps, and gameplay changes every few months. Now all the changes have been primarily shop and currency focused while problems persist. Same guns, same legend pickrates, zero maps, zero changes. Support games that support you.
Apex has been dying for a long time, lack of content, last couple of battle passes have been shit (copy paste skins), cheaters in every other game, servers randomly kicking you or straight up lagging. They have released more collections and expensive skin bundles than fixing stuff (new skins doesn't equal new content)
My brother has been playing Apex since launch on and off and has really enjoyed it. But with the change to make it more money-grubbing, the hackers, and general problems with balancing, he's uninstalling. He just plays casually make for an hour every couple of nights after his long day job. If a casual like him is done, this is bad for Apex.
Currently trapped in Plat 4 due to a few reasons: SBMM: whether it's having both masters/pred 3-stacks in the lobby decimating everyone, or having teammates that share 1 brain cell, SBMM is failing me. Cheaters: getting shredded by some gremlin who is always using a havoc getting nothing but headshots is suspicious to say the least. They're everywhere, and EA is preventing Respawn from actually fixing the problem in a meaningful way.
i started actually playing season 21, and it caught me off guard to see the amount of micro transactions and the amount of peer grind, it feels like hell
No. People need to stop saying this dumb shit. The reason apex is dead is because there is no real interesting content being put out. Look at fortnite and what they did to stay so popular for so long. Apex needs an entire revamp of new and exciting core gameplay. It needs innovation
Played Apex for years and completed many battle passes. Reached lvl 500. Still… never received a single Heirloom. Not to mention dealt with the toxic solo Qs, cheaters, smurfs, all of the above. Hell yes count me in as a number that deleted the game. When will the devs realize that something has to be fixed to actually attract a consistent player base. I loved Apex. But now it is a shell of a game it used to be. A trend with many games lately. CoDs, CS2 small market transactions are ruining games
I quit Apex back in season 15. At that point the game had so many issues. The audio was broken, the servers were equally bad, and plenty of other issues were starting to bubble up. With the community outcry at the time, I always thought that Respawn would take the time to fix the game, and stuck around. What sealed the deal for me was when they decided they would prioritize virtue signalling and terrible monetization over fixing their game. I still remeber season 3 and 4 of Apex, despite its issues, the game was at its best back then. The lore, the gameplay, and everything else was practically perfect.
Interesting how online only games are made to draw players in and make a huge playerbase that all enjoy the game, but they are the same people who infect them with toxicity, cheating, or tryharding
I find it very difficult to justify ever going back to Apex, I used to play it religiously LOVED it despite many flaws, but all these problems are nothing new and have been compounding for YEARS. When I played Fortnite for the first time when Zero Build came out, I saw a game that was regularly updated, had decent help support, less cheaters (for the most part), GREAT cosmetics, decent pricing for items, innovation, new game modes, new movement, overall FUN, and lots of QOL. Even SBMM felt better, like it still could frik me over, but I could take a break from the game and it'll put me in a good spot difficulty-wise. Apex didn't have qualities nearly as good and I feel it still doesn't.
I feel like it's getting to the point where it feels like playing competitive online games can only be done on console with every game having a major uptick in cheating in all games
As an apex veteran that played 4 years, 17 seasons with 5k hours and 5 heirlooms, I will say: Apex is rapidly dying right now and nobody can save it Here’s few reasons why apex is dying: 1. Horrible audio that haven’t even been fixed since day 1 2. Terrible matchmaking system in all modes 3. Bugs and server issues causing people to lose RP and got a undeserved penalty 4. The greediness of respawn and EA 5. Cheaters are everywhere even in gold lobbies They didn’t even bother to fix all of this and that’s why no one can save this game Right now im on the fence of uninstalling it, i used to play this game everyday and had fun grinding ranked Since season 18, this game really burnt me out and now it’s almost dead in my heart I’m ready to move to another shooter once it gets released It’s very sad to see the game that I loved become so bad I don’t even wanna open it
This is just the beginning. Comoetitive esports is dead as we know it. Cheats have gotten so modernized theres even hardware cheats legitimately impossible to detect. And this is just the start.
this franchise is well knowed for 3 things: 1- they hackers that RUIN the game and turns unplayable 2- they input system dramas 3- they greedy publisher that ruins everything everytime ... and also by the most ambicious movement in game industry, and hot female chraracters
Deleted arenas for rotation modes that play maybe 8 people, 10 at max and solos (4 ppl mode was actually pretty cool). Cheaters can be met even on normals, and of course the new battlepass. Here lies Apex.
i refuse to believe these cheaters are above 15 years old, at least mentally. these free to play games need to implement some kind of paid option to only play vs paid players like in csgo to discourage cheating
How many grown adults are out there right now who never grew past 10 mentally? I agree with your assessment but that also leaves us with a cornucopia of could-be cheaters.
I sincerely hope, when Season 22 launches nobody buys the battlepass. Vote with your wallets people, its worked in the past it will work this time as well. EA only knows they fucked up when there is no cash flow.
i left apex due to the ranked system changes over the years. I've always enjoyed the old ranked system that incentivized aggresive playstyle and more interaction among players, but lately its been dwindled to passive, long range and poke playstyle. My most favourite season would definitely be season 7 for sure.
I played the game for over 6k hours, I stopped 2 years ago because of the direction the dev team was taking. It's sad to see, that it still continues to fall off. Balancing problems with Mnk / Controller input (aimassist), ddos problems, cheater problems, inflatet ranked system, bad esports formats, nerfs for movement techniques and movement abilities (wraith / pathfinder) and everything only gets worse. And then the crazy prices for the cosmetics.
I tried to get back into apex and it didnt end well; The skill required to aim track zoomers aggressively hitting the griddy toward you while shooting, at the running speed of 260mph is beyond my capabilities.
I quit a while ago. Essentially I ran into 'git gud' issues, for the first time ever in a shooter. For a game that is so easy to shoot and get into its just incredibly hard to actually get kills due to the TOTK & 3rd partying. SBMM exagerbated this problem immensely. I know I'm above average, I'm okay with not being better than that, but consistently getting a
As a long time player it’s not that lack of content that makes me want to stop playing. It’s the lack of competitive integrity. Having to play against cheaters in most games past high plat makes the game unfun to play. It is no longer about me getting better but me getting cheated. Unfun
apex player here since release... last 2 season was a downfall for me and the nail in the coffin was when that tournament incident that was hacked mid game. I think they have cut down on servers where you can get in servers that has high ping and packetloss. I think they no longer spend resources on anti-cheat since the rise of aimlockers in teamdeathmatch is now prevalent.
For me, it was the horrible server issues. Someone who has been playing since s6(on & off), I get paired up with people who are significantly less experienced than me most of the time, also the lack of communication between teammates since 80% of the time, being matched up with someone who doesn't speak English/doesn't say anything at all, can be very frustrating. Didn't face much issue with cheaters tho even tho I play mostly in Asian servers. But the final nail in the coffin was the horrible optimization this season brought forth. I finally had to call it quits and uninstall it fr. Can't see myself returning anytime soon, at least not until the core issues are fixed for good.
Count me as one person who kept the game uninstalled (I had played it for four years at that point). They made zero statements about if they _actually_ fixed the issue, just nebulous stuff about claiming they would improve security. Big red flag for computer science/developer people like me.
I played Apex from launch to about a year ago and reached Masters in a couple seasons. Here's my thoughts if anyone cares: - Banning cheaters is meaningless in a free to play game. EA/Respawn are pathetic because they know this and yet either can't or won't develop real solutions to the problem. Warzone is a similar case and while they still have cheaters, at the very least we see them announce meaningful improvements to their anticheat software almost every year at this point. At least we know they're trying somethings - Regarding SBMM, yes it's bad in Apex, but it's partially a result of the game itself not being noob-friendly at all. As an average player most teams you face in-games will be either contain a solo queue God with no job or regard for their mental health, a 3-stack of decent players communicating every movement, or a 3-stack of jobless Gods communicating every movement. That is simply the playerbase this game has fostered, so no you won't find easy games. There are simply none. Especially with all the extra mixtape game modes basically taking all the bad/casual players out of the BR pool anyway - Arenas was actually my favourite mode for a while. Definitely wasn't perfect and the ranked system was especially atrocious, but it was super fun and the endgames got so intense. Of course they neglected all the mode's issues and then removed it because people weren't playing it (wonder why they weren't playing it...). Oh yeah and that awful ranked system? They brought the same one to BR a few seasons later and BR Ranked has been trash ever since. - As far as the new battlepass goes: I don't even know what to say. It's just pathetic at this point - Finally it's important to note that so many of the original devs that made the game great have left Respawn to do other things. The Respawn Entertainment that passionately brought the game to life in the first place is literally gone and replaced by some EBITDA slaves. Time to find something else to play Apex fans
Uninstalled apex 3 years ago. Got tired of getting pitted against cheaters (often even the same ones) in high level lobbies. There were days when you literally had a spin bot or two in every single match
played apex when it released and returned in S3, I got to diamond in ranked and played the game often enough to fight high skill players. flash forward to today, im facing 50k+ kills triple predator badge players STILL, despite having several months of inactivity at a time. this is how awful skill based matchmaking works for this game, so now it's impossible to return and try enjoy the game casually.
The battle pass changes make sense in a business perspective I don't know any other games where you can buy 1 BP and the other upcoming BPs are free if you just play a little bit. I believe the only reason they didn't change it up till now because it's getting compensated by new players buying the BP and people rolling for heirlooms. Well now that the player count is decreasing, they need to make drastic changes to make money, but eventually the BP changes will still come, because the "1 BP = all other BPs are free" doesn't really make sense.
I stopped playing apex when me as a bronze level just started sticking my toe into ranked got a plat+ level player (idk if it was plat or diamond because im not familiar with the badges) on my team who proceeded to dumbster the entire lobby. It was discouraging that something like that is even allowed to happen honesty.
Cheaters have ruined almost any game out there...especially first person shooters... and if you know anything about human behavior, greed and the tech behind cheating... it's only going to get worse
I uninstalled after the Double Take collection event, before the battlepass changes were announced. The battlepass announcement only confirmed the correctness of my decision. What a disgrace of a studio (Respawn Entertainment) and what a disgrace of a publisher (EA). Titanfall died for this. Slap in the face after slap in the face, I would have to be a total masochist to continue giving them money just to be miserable all the time. They knew what they were in for with the new monetization system announcement, that's why they announced it so early on, a month before the season's release. They're hoping the anger will die down by the time Season 22 comes out. This game is plagued with problems that are continuously ignored. The studio is horrendous at communication with the playerbase and only seeks to nickel and dime the players, to milk this game dry for every cent. They expect us to shell out more and more while the quality of the game's content is this poor? SKINS ARE NOT CONTENT. As an MNK player, I could not stand to play another match of this game. I will list some of the glaring issues of the game, which developers have not fixed 5 years into the game: - Broken, poor quality audio system. No footstep audio in extremely important situations, abilities that fail to produce sounds, etc. This has been a problem for 5 years and the devs have removed a modifiable setting which applied a bandaid to the issue. - Rampant cheaters, completely understaffed security team. There has only ever once been a situation comparable to the cheater epidemic now and that was around 2 - 3 years ago. Search the internet for articles about the "ALGS hack". This happened in the middle of the biggest Apex tournament series, the official Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). - No competitive integrity due to, among other factors, a ridiculously unbalanced input (controller) overshadowing MNK. Respawn should have never allowed input mixing, much less so in COMPETITIVE. - Poorly organized, neglected competitive scene. Because of Respawn and EA, it can't reach its potential. - Servers filled with actual bots - Poor quality servers that crash very often for very many, packet loss, code:nets in the middle of ALGS - No region lock so you are forced to play against players on 150 - 200+ ping who, because of the design of the netcode will take you down from behind closed doors and other types of cover. - Unbelievable visual clutter (only addressed years ago with a half-baked muzzle flash update which failed to fix the issues and then years down the line with some adjustments to the L-Star projectiles - no fix for snow, dust, abilities, etc.) - Aim punch / flinch on no armor (completely unaddressed by the developers) - Power creep for legends which makes legends like Wraith and Ash useless - Weapon balancing that favors nerfs over buffs to have many viable weapons. The R-301 is useless. Havoc and Hemlok have been meta for an absurd amount of time and the "nerf" the Havoc received is a joke that fails to address any of the fundamental issues. The R-99 was nerfed into the ground as nothing more than a band-aid fix for the absurdity of Aim Assist. SMGs as a class were nerfed (move speed for example) for that reason. Shotguns are useless outside of solos. The game is moving towards higher and higher TTK. - The game is more and more oriented towards abilities than raw gunplay. Press one button for free 75 HP (Revenant). Press one button for free height which allows you to pop a battery almost unscathed. Press one button to spam the enemy with knuckle clusters. Press one button for free shield regen (Conduit). The list goes on and on and on. - Terrible ranked system with no incentives. The ranked rewards are laughable and the ranked trails have been retired in order to make trails monetizable, bundled with $140 - $150 Prestige Skins. - Terrible progression system with no incentives. The weapon mastery system is abysmal. - Terrible monetization, more and more gacha / gambling events that force you to gamble, going back on their promise during Iron Crown to always let players have a choice what to buy during events, with Apex Coins or Crafting Metals. Poorly designed, rushed, churned out universal heirlooms with no character, instead of legend heirlooms. Recycling skins in the form of recolors, recolors and more recolors. Recolored legend skins, recolored heirlooms... Abysmal, exorbitantly high price for Prestige Skins which you can't customize whatsoever and for which you can only see the hands and arms in first person. Multiple prestige skins do not even have dive trails. The Exotic Store is a joke with only 2 skins, rendering the Exotic Shards given in the battle pass effectively useless for the majority of players, who can't get heirloom shards. Crafting metals are useless because you have fewer and fewer avenues to spend them. - Legend tokens are deliberately made useless It took them: - 4 YEARS to add Mixtape and you can't choose which mode to play - 5 years to add queuing from inside a match (tested with the Straight Shot LTM and only finally implemented in Season 21) - 5 years to add guaranteed weapons on drop from supply bins Issues I take offence with as an MNK player: - Respawn refuse to allow input-based matchmaking or allow PC players to turn off crossplay, which means that MNK players are forced to play against legal soft aimbot in the form of Rotational Aim Assist which automatically tracks and has 0 ms reaction time. This is purely for monetary reasons, because the majority of the playerbase is on controller and easy 1 mag knocks feel good and make controller players more likely to spend money on the game. - Aim assist is completely unaffected by visual clutter and aim punch, which is in effect a nerf to MNK The game has turned into a participation trophy, spectator sport in which the game plays itself for people. It is becoming less and less about raw skill and more about how well one controller player's soft aimbot can do against another controller player's soft aimbot. Overall, Respawn does not care about MNK players. The experience of MNK players has been relegated to a mere afterthought After all of these issues, we are slapped with more skins in the shop, recolors, two battlepasses in one season. I won't get more into the battlepass monetization, but the "extra value" boils down to more crafting metals which are useless (less and less avenues to spend them, more gacha events), useless Apex Coins (2 premium battlepasses, so THREE MONTHS, only get you enough for 1 legendary skin, most players used the coins from the battlepass to repurchase it), useless exotic shards (you need 50 exotic shards to even get one weapon skin from the Exotic Store and there are only 2 skins in it, while using them for Universal Heirloom customization requires having the base, which costs 150 Heirloom Shards), a few more Apex Packs which are worthless (in my experience I had to literally open 500 packs or very close to 500 packs almost every time in order to get Heirloom Shards from the pity system). Now, instead of 2 Reactive Skins per battle pass, there is only 1. You are now forced to shell out $10 every split to get the battle pass. Another case of Fear-of-Missing-Out (FOMO) being utilized by Respawn for monetization, with the shortening of the battle passes and increase in frequency. If Respawn doesn't care about me, I would have to be insane to keep giving them money just to suffer more. If they won't respect my time, my effort, my skill, I won't respect their game. I will not recommend this game to anybody and frankly, this game does not deserve to stay alive with the direction it has and is taking. Very many of the original Respawn developers left for Wildlight Entertainment and Gravity Well. Titanfall died for this.
Dont worry, "Gamers" talk very much but never get the balls to quit a game, doesnt matter how Bad the game is or that they need to buy a battle pass every time xD
I'm not that kind of gamer then. Sunk thousands of hours on this game. Bought lots of in-game stuff. Ultimately I just had to quit. The game isn't as fun anymore. And it's more punishing than rewarding..
I really left this game just because you cant play this game solo matched with randoms in your team.. Its literally impossible to play the game without getting mentally fucked over and over.
Tbh, it does feel like this game is dying sadly. This season really hasn't been too fun to play and with them making unnecessary changes instead of fixing audio bugs, exploits, and cheating problems doesn't make me want to play next season
Cheaters? No. Respawn/EA killed apex. and cheaters added to it. Thats just what EA does, even with their FIFA games, at one point, they just stop caring.
About 50-60% of the apex playerbase is cheating. Respawn have proven that they no longer care about banning cheaters. Right now, you can buy cheats that are not detectable by anti-cheat and as long as they aren't detected by the rudimentary anti-cheat apex has, you will never be banned. Reporting players with even blatant rage hacks does nothing. I'm usually a masters rank player and I would say probably in the last 4 or five seasons, once you hit diamond 3, there is this random wall that hit where suddenly all of your ranked games have at least four or five obvious cheaters and probably anywhere between 15 to 30 players that 'appear to be' running soft aimbot and wall hacks. I say this because those players are usually level 30 or 40, have no game sense, but somehow barely edge all of their opponents out in gun fights. Although I dont cheat and never will, I will say that if you aren't cheating in apex, you aren't trying to win, which is actually crazy.
i dont like the perspective that a game is SUPPOSED to maintain a constant playerbase as if people didnt have other interests or they were extremely loyal and have more reasons to stay than to leave the game.
they added all that new bs monetization and not any actual new features, No replay system, No community maps, No fun. If apex had community gamemodes/maps the game would thrive and have another avenue to keep players.
For me Apex is annoying to get back into, because seasonal rankings and a harsh reset between. I usually play with friends, but if I had not played in the same season. We can't play ranked due to rank difference. Yes I can raise mine to match theirs, but that is a hassel I don't like doing alone.
Current situation tracks with respawns history. The Titanfall communities are able to survive with the passion of its players. Apex players should be fine if they're serious about the game.
We need a system like Korea - accounts are tied to your social security number (SSN) so you get ONE account. Not sure how it would work in NA... but every game has way too many cheaters and smurfs.
My friends and I were big into Apex when the game first launched and played through the first handful of seasons together. At some point, we all decided to take a break, eventually returning in the middle of last year to give it another go. We had fun at first, but eventually, we all got fed up with needing to lean into our monitors and grab a towel to keep the sweat from dripping and stopped playing within a couple of weeks. Alongside EA being scummy, and Respawn refusing to do anything about cheaters at the high levels, I think Apex assisted its own downfall. People saw the opportunity to go pro and they threw out all sense of fun in their pursuit of being the next big name in the scene. I feel like it's happened to most games with an esports scene, where players take their competitive spirit into casual because they don't want to lose their rank, even though that's what competitive modes are for. I feel like it happened in League, I feel like it happened in Valorant, it's in Fortnite, and it's happened in Apex.
It started with audio issues, then they took away our ranked dive trails (to sell them to us instead), every event felt more greedy than the last, matchmaking got even worse, then the cheating got completely out of control. And here we are, the game feels horrible, everything is built to suck every last penny from the players while addressing almost none of the issues. Player count continues to drop week by week, cheating is rampant and the latest big idea is to make the battlepass x4 more expensive. I was taking a break till things improve, now im never coming back.
As a low diamond casual I don't remember when I saw a cheater last time. I only see bots in mixtape from time to time. CS2 has much bigger cheater problem IMHO.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole 'self-claimed' terminology exactly what the most popular comment wants to say? I thought 'self-proclaimed' meant not just calling oneself to be something, that would be to literal, but earning and proving one to the public. It has such nuiance, no? English is my second language. I'm earnestly curious. My learnings are being contradicted.
cheaters arent the only reason. this could be just me, but i think the devs mightve just killed the game, me and my friends used to play a lot when killing ppl actually improved ur rank, but now its just a campy BR. no one wants to play a br where its better to sit and camp in a corner rather then run around killing people.
i went from season 0 zero kills playing daily to grinding my way to plat season 6 I had blatant hackers in about 1 in 20 lobbies. After that I don't know what they changed but non stop rubber banding, hackers, and my computer chugging whenever I loaded in and a brand new game called Valorant came out I couldn't.

Hal is the ceo. Technically speaking he’s apex’s goat too I believe from like an events won standpoint.
Hal is literally the face of this game no other player comes close

Greed also killed Apex, at least with the new battlepass
i really cannot understand why battlepasses are accepted. you pay to get challenges similar to those daily challenges to get in game items?

Its been this way for a while to the point after i get masters i dnt even play apex anymore and hop on my smurf just to mess around in the lower ranks. Plus the nerfs to bangalore the only AA counter makes me not want to return until EA grows the balls to nerf AA instead of cookin up another trans/whatever the fk character and properly give an anticheat.

Apex has perfected the trinity:
Bad matchmaking
Lack of audio
Laggy servers
This is the dumbest thing i’ve ever read, how would they purposely avoid streamers, like you think they watching every stream?😂
@@Sauczi lol they don't need to watch their stream. They use cheats to know which player they are going to avoid just by looking at the map.

I choose not to take part in their pathetic schemes.
It was always trash
Ye we have cheaters on the daily and the devs only respond was raising the BP price to the double
I hate EA
I love Apex
It’s just not doing anything new… they’re not innovating like they used to.
No new mechanics, constant cheating, riddled with bugs.
Currently trapped in Plat 4 due to a few reasons:
SBMM: whether it's having both masters/pred 3-stacks in the lobby decimating everyone, or having teammates that share 1 brain cell, SBMM is failing me.
"did you stop playing for any of these reasons"? Me: "yes"
As an apex veteran that played 4 years, 17 seasons with 5k hours and 5 heirlooms, I will say:
Apex is rapidly dying right now and nobody can save it
Here’s few reasons why apex is dying:
1. Horrible audio that haven’t even been fixed since day 1
2. Terrible matchmaking system in all modes
3. Bugs and server issues causing people to lose RP and got a undeserved penalty
4. The greediness of respawn and EA
5. Cheaters are everywhere even in gold lobbies
They didn’t even bother to fix all of this and that’s why no one can save this game
Right now im on the fence of uninstalling it, i used to play this game everyday and had fun grinding ranked
Since season 18, this game really burnt me out and now it’s almost dead in my heart
I’m ready to move to another shooter once it gets released
It’s very sad to see the game that I loved become so bad I don’t even wanna open it
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Cheating is going to get so bad that the only people playing those games are going to be cheaters.
6:38 "...the content feels extremely thin these days..."
EA: Huh. Let's ask for more money from our players
This is just the beginning. Comoetitive esports is dead as we know it. Cheats have gotten so modernized theres even hardware cheats legitimately impossible to detect.
And this is just the start.
this franchise is well knowed for 3 things:
1- they hackers that RUIN the game and turns unplayable
2- they input system dramas
3- they greedy publisher that ruins everything everytime
...
and also by the most ambicious movement in game industry, and hot female chraracters
AA was already tough enough but as cheating continues to grow I’ve decided it’s just not worth playing as a MnK player.
Deleted arenas for rotation modes that play maybe 8 people, 10 at max and solos (4 ppl mode was actually pretty cool). Cheaters can be met even on normals, and of course the new battlepass. Here lies Apex.
i refuse to believe these cheaters are above 15 years old, at least mentally.
these free to play games need to implement some kind of paid option to only play vs paid players like in csgo to discourage cheating
and how is that going for cs lol
How many grown adults are out there right now who never grew past 10 mentally?
I agree with your assessment but that also leaves us with a cornucopia of could-be cheaters.
I refuse to believe someone who suggested that you pay to avoid cheaters is mentally above 12 years old.
@@michaelchen645 i actually don't know, but i thought it was a good idea since generally people cheat less if you have to play
@@BlueLightningSky it is a solution for free to play games, but this still requires the devs to actually detect and deal with cheats.
Season 3 was peak.

Every game is infested with cheaters nowadays 😢
Here's my thoughts if anyone cares:
- Banning cheaters is meaningless in a free to play game. EA/Respawn are pathetic because they know this and yet either can't or won't develop real solutions to the problem. Warzone is a similar case and while they still have cheaters, at the very least we see them announce meaningful improvements to their anticheat software almost every year at this point. At least we know they're trying somethings
- Regarding SBMM, yes it's bad in Apex, but it's partially a result of the game itself not being noob-friendly at all. Especially with all the extra mixtape game modes basically taking all the bad/casual players out of the BR pool anyway
- Arenas was actually my favourite mode for a while.
It's just pathetic at this point
- Finally it's important to note that so many of the original devs that made the game great have left Respawn to do other things.
It’s not just in high level play , it’s across the board. There is a lot of cheating in pub br and even mixtape.
Cheaters weren't the only culprits. It was also whoever had the bright idea of making everything a microtransaction now.
It's still haunts me that apex legends mobile has a lot more qol feature and events that make it more fun and engaging yet sadly killed
played apex when it released and returned in S3, I got to diamond in ranked and played the game often enough to fight high skill players.
flash forward to today, im facing 50k+ kills triple predator badge players STILL, despite having several months of inactivity at a time. this is how awful skill based matchmaking works for this game, so now it's impossible to return and try enjoy the game casually.
I quit the game years ago due to cheaters just in normal game modes in OCE. Sad to see that it actually got worse somehow..
Can't be safe by EA, they never had anti cheat in Battlefield and most played on private servers with active moderators.
The fact that cheats are selling with a feature called "Mark/Highlight other cheaters" is a strong indication......
Between god awful matchmaking and cheaters, new players can’t get into the game and older players have no motivation to keep playing.
Cheaters have ruined almost any game out there...especially first person shooters... and if you know anything about human behavior, greed and the tech behind cheating... it's only going to get worse
My worst part, I’m generally a silver/gold player having masters in my ranked lobbies (OCE servers definitely aren’t helping tho)
I will list some of the glaring issues of the game, which developers have not fixed 5 years into the game:
- Broken, poor quality audio system.
- Servers filled with actual bots
- Poor quality servers that crash very often for very many, packet loss, code:nets in the middle of ALGS
- No region lock so you are forced to play against players on 150 - 200+ ping who, because of the design of the netcode will take you down from behind closed doors and other types of cover.
- Unbelievable visual clutter (only addressed years ago with a half-baked muzzle flash update which failed to fix the issues and then years down the line with some adjustments to the L-Star projectiles - no fix for snow, dust, abilities, etc.)
- Aim punch / flinch on no armor (completely unaddressed by the developers)
- Power creep for legends which makes legends like Wraith and Ash useless
- Weapon balancing that favors nerfs over buffs to have many viable weapons.
- Legend tokens are deliberately made useless
It took them:
- 4 YEARS to add Mixtape and you can't choose which mode to play
- 5 years to add queuing from inside a match (tested with the Straight Shot LTM and only finally implemented in Season 21)
- 5 years to add guaranteed weapons on drop from supply bins
Issues I take offence with as an MNK player:
- Respawn refuse to allow input-based matchmaking or allow PC players to turn off crossplay, which means that MNK players are forced to play against legal soft aimbot in the form of Rotational Aim Assist which automatically tracks and has 0 ms reaction time. This is purely for monetary reasons, because the majority of the playerbase is on controller and easy 1 mag knocks feel good and make controller players more likely to spend money on the game.
- Aim assist is completely unaffected by visual clutter and aim punch, which is in effect a nerf to MNK
The game has turned into a participation trophy, spectator sport in which the game plays itself for people. It is becoming less and less about raw skill and more about how well one controller player's soft aimbot can do against another controller player's soft aimbot.
Overall, Respawn does not care about MNK players. The experience of MNK players has been relegated to a mere afterthought
After all of these issues, we are slapped with more skins in the shop, recolors, two battlepasses in one season.
So true , playing apex in 2024 is actually crazy
Officially quit yesterday 💪🏼 it’s been a great 2 years but I won’t be back
Tbh, it does feel like this game is dying sadly.
"Apex is currently in the top 10 games of Stea-"
OK video is over. Not dying
The problem is not the battlepass. The problem is the battlepass change in conjunction with the game being in the worst state it's every been in.
Apex is pretty bad but CS2 is undoubtedly worse. About half the player base is case farming bots and 30% of the non bots are cheaters.
Apex players before complaining about tf2 players now they are worse thats karma
i dont like the perspective that a game is SUPPOSED to maintain a constant playerbase as if people didnt have other interests or they were extremely loyal and have more reasons to stay than to leave the game.
they added all that new bs monetization and not any actual new features, No replay system, No community maps, No fun.
Not giving my ssn to a game company that's stupid as it gets
@@ScoobyShotU people like you are why problems never get solved
@@VernCarson people like you are too young to understand why giving your data to massive corporations is a bad idea.
@@orbis17 they already have it. You should be more concerned about giving them your money.
It's not only Apex but most other multiplayer pc games. It's not fun to play anymore
As a apex player the game has gotten stale and the biggest thing that happened recently was a event for a $300 death box
As a low diamond casual I don't remember when I saw a cheater last time. I only see bots in mixtape from time to time. CS2 has much bigger cheater problem IMHO.
For sure, I took a break from CS and I’ve been playing Apex having a great time lol.
"this was likely a calculated decision by EA and Respawn"
A very, very bad calculated decision
A lack of content for multiple seasons is what killed apex
1:31 Self-proclaimed? He got that nickname from people in early days of game 😂😂
cheaters arent the only reason. this could be just me, but i think the devs mightve just killed the game, me and my friends used to play a lot when killing ppl actually improved ur rank, but now its just a campy BR. no one wants to play a br where its better to sit and camp in a corner rather then run around killing people.
i went from season 0 zero kills playing daily to grinding my way to plat season 6 I had blatant hackers in about 1 in 20 lobbies. After that I don't know what they changed but non stop rubber banding, hackers, and my computer chugging whenever I loaded in and a brand new game called Valorant came out I couldn't.
I think if apex players try the finals they would find a perfect alternative, a lot of things have changed since beta and season 1
nowdays you cant know if someones hacking or being really good at it, they say cheaters are extremely toxic... guess what? the rest are toxic too
