@@evanr9111 Well, I don't know you, but I'll just tell you from my heart that I know everything will be okay. Bad things never stay. Everything will get better, always. 🌹 Also, you have a beautiful name.
The songs from the mid-90s I think. It’s crazy to think about though, a band in the 90s made a song that someone put on this crazy new thing called TH-cam in 2008, and people are still watching it in 2021.
Firestorm-115 it came out in 2004. Jimmy Eat World was one of the bands that kickstarted the whole emo phase. They broke out to mainstream success in 2001. This song was instrumental in that scene... MCR and all that shit immediately followed this, citing them as one of their influences. I’m not an emo fan at all, and at the time I hated it, but I always loved this song. I was 14 when it was released. 11 when “the middle” was.
There are certain songs that you hear in your youth, that, no matter how you change, what shit you go through, or how your tastes evolve, you always remember. These are the best songs, because they bring back those times, when thing were simpler. When we didn't have to worry about so much, when we could be careless fools making dumb decisions. This is one of those. We are adults now, but this song is one of the links that brings me back.
I know exactly how you feel man. I remember singing along to these songs in the car when I was little. I like rap and trap right now but I still love these songs.
For me, this song is less of "High school, parties, nostalgia, whoooo!" And more of "Hey! You're doing great, you've got this. I believe in you.". It's one of those rare songs that just sounds innocent. I was listening to this on the radio and I thought it had to have some sinister meaning or stupid innuendo. No, it's just a really positive, reassuring song. It's just one of those songs that makes me feel like "Everything will be alright" when I listen to it. I know this may sound corny and clichéd, but to anyone reading this, you've got this! You're doing great at life, and anything that's less than great will get better! If it's your stance on the subject, or maybe it really just lightens up, it WILL get better. And if everything's going great, that's awesome! I hope it stays that way. But be sure to give that same positive feeling to those who need it. Have an incredible day, and don't forget to keep being awesome!

I love this song because of the message it conveys. So many "artists" nowadays sing about nothing but breakups, or killing people, or how "oh woe is me, no one knows how bad life is for me." This song, on the other hand, tells people that your self-worth shouldn't be based upon other people's perceptions of you. THAT'S why this song is so much better than what people are putting out and listening to today.
My mom bought me this CD when I was little to give me hope. I was relentlessy bullied and teased at school and I had a lot of things going on that nobody understood. Remember when shows were good and no one gave a fuck about anything Skating was the only sport we cared about back when there was no racism for a bit yup that 2008 and also EVERYBODY wanted to be in a Band
I listened to this when i was a kid I listened to this in middle school, Highschool, college And now I listened to it after graduation And surprisingly, i always feel better. This song is amazing. Things have definitely worked out, and im sure they will, even now. :)
That was the number one song that helped me through my teenage years. Now as an adult, I love hearing it whenever I’m sad as well as it has never lost its power in cheering me up 🥺😌
Was told to take a listen to this by my mom; her boyfriend had told her to have me listen to it, that he dedicated it to me. I cannot stop crying, I am so happy. I honestly do not know this man well enough to call him anything other than my mom's boyfriend, but he couldn't mean less than a father figure for me. He supports me and he understands what I am going through somewhat. Thank you, Lee, for dedicating this song to me and for making me laugh and feel warm in times when I needed them most.
I'm 25 now and my heart always breaks a little when for my 15 year old self when I hear this song. To all you kids out there that are just as lost and seemingly alone as I was, just keep living your best life. It sucks so much a lot of the time, but it really does just take some time to be alright. I remember fighting to grasp a semblance of what I thought people wanted me to be, but as I became myself I just kept it in my head to BE myself. Love eachother and look out for yourself, because whether you are alone or not, the only one who truly knows you IS you. Good luck y'all and from all of us out there that know what your going through, you fuckin got this.
When I was 11, my brother made me listen to this song, and I really liked it. I didn't speak English very well back then, as English is not my first language, so I didn't understand a word of it, but I enjoyed listening to it. Now, 5 years later, dealing with my Social Anxiety, I decided to listen to it again as it just came by on youtube. Right now, I am sitting here, tears in my eyes from relating to this song. It helps me a great deal.
I suffer anxiety, specifically social anxiety and it's giving me mild depression. This song made me feel better. I guess it will just take some time till my anxieties will go away. I thought it was just shyness when I was little and that's what everyone would say but it has never gone away and the shyness has turned into straight social phobia. I think about suicide sometimes because I feel useless and can't even talk to anyone I don't know and can't have a normal conversation without it being awkward and wanting to just run away from the situation. And then I think about how I went through high school with barely ever talking to girls and never had a girlfriend. I don't even know how I made friends in school it was a damn miracle. I just wish I could talk to other humans beings I don't know without my nervousness, awkwardness, and anxiety showing.
Don’t worry one day you’ll be able to talk to others without your anxiety or shyness in the way because I’m also shy and quiet and there are times where I feel like I’m making other people around me uncomfortable so I attend to avoid interactions with anyone but one day you’ll be to talk to people it may slow and it may not be a quick process but you can do it cause you are an awesome person
The best thing to do is accept who you are. just look each day 1time in the mirror and say you are important and you matter. do not listen to much to what your brain says when it trys to talk you down or what others will think ,you are not your thoughts thats what you gotta remember do not take them to serious. Talking to people that are important to you with what you struggle and how you feel also helps alot. Its not a sign of weakness or anything to show yourself hurt it takes alot of courage to do it and makes you only stronger. Its your life you are in control of yoursellf not some one else. you are important and you matter.
i would say talk to a professional my man. i was going through the same exact thing as you are, and i even dropped out of college because of it. i went to a therapist and eventually found out that i had social anxiety and adhd. they started giving me medication and more counseling and now it’s like the world is opening up to me. don’t lose hope, you’re not useless!! some people just need some extra help and that’s ok :)
When i first heard this song i was in middle school and i had 2 women teachers who really loved this song. And whenever we had parties they always had this song playing, along with other songs so i Always went up to the radio and hit the repeat button so it would play over and over again. I'm now 30 and still listen to this song every night before going to bed! One of the many songs i love from Jimmy Eat World!!!
When I was a teenager my main thing was music. How I communicated moods, feelings, etc. My dad picked up on this, and I was going through a real rough time, so he wanted to find the perfect song to tell me it would be ok. He spent hours at harmony house listening to different songs (via my friend that worked at our regular store) until he found this one and said it was perfect. He bought me the album and showed me the song, and now, whenever I'm having a really rough go and this song comes on on the radio or on streaming, I remember him and how much he just wanted me to know I'd be ok. He died when I was 19, and my life has been really rough without him, but I feel a little better that my dad is telling me I'll be ok eventually, even after he's gone.

Been alone for a long time and always rejected by girls lost all my friends due to drama and this song just helps especially the lyric “you know their all the same” and “your doing better on your own” just amazing lyrics
Are all guys the same? No? Neither are girls. I really don’t think that’s the message you’re supposed to get from the song. However, it is really good to be happy on your own and happy with yourself. I only bother commenting because I hate seeing guys travel the incel path and become bitter angry men who hate women. Women are just people. Some are good, some are bad. Some are vain and mean, some are kind and cool. Be the kind of person that you would want to be with, and if you want, you will find someone great.
I also want to add, that if you only look for a girl based on her looks, then expect her to only have her looks to offer. Shallow guys deserve shallow girls.
It's crazy that this song is 20 years old, but it's still ahead of its time and timeless. Was hooked when I heard it the first time back in 2002 as a 16 year old who was only trying to fit in, this song was perfect for me
Me and my siblings have been listening to this song and band, and I will definitely be listening to this on July 4th 2024 on full blast! Miss you fam ❤
After reading the comments, I say this; this a sing that no matter how old you are , it gives you a " jump start!" This came out when I was in my 30s . Loved it then! I'm in my 50s. Still love it! When I see a band in a bar playing covers and NEAR this, I go up and request it! Great song! Great video as well! The girl over his right shoulder in the red bottoms has some pretty cool moves too!!
this song just has always given me a sense of security, reminding me to never quit, that I am not alone when I am going through something and that there is always someone there to help me through any situation.
I'd like to dedicate this song to my niece's. they live in the ghetto of southside chicago, their mom is in rehab for the 2nd time. they're only 11 and 13. life will get better. I just hope they stay on the straight and narrow.
This comment reminded me of the show 'Shameless' and this song is my theme song for my show and the family on there (including another family on the show) I really hope things do get better. I used to live with other families in Cleveland Ohio and I was only fed hotdogs (I was also raped and I don't remember having a bed) and now I have an eating disorder and acid reflux :/ this song I dedicate to you, 'that show' and me. Things get better even if it seems impossible at that moment :3
For someone who has had anxiety for 10 years, self essteem issues for 3, and have many people abandon than help me. This song has helped me more than any human being I have had the pleasure of meeting.
i can't put into words how good these words in this song make me feel. it's like, on a rollercoaster, when your at the bottom of the bump, there's no way to go but up.
So needed to hear this as I rode to the doctor's office. It's funny how you be around certain ppl and they either tell you certain things that fit what your dealing with in a particular situation with words of advice, or play a song of inspiration to motivate. Dedicated to all of those who said it can't be done, screw you!

Heard this in the store today and was taken way back to the early 2000s. This song just completely encompasses that time period. I never realized how uplifting this song was until now. I could barely understand a word they were saying listening to this in 2001/2002 at 12-years-old lol

I'm going on a fucking trip through my middle school years with these songs right now. It's uncanny.
Jules Winnfield ikr
Remember when shows were good and no one gave a fuck about anything Skating was the only sport we cared about back when there was no racism for a bit yup that 2008 and also EVERYBODY wanted to be in a Band
+Zero Cooper 2008 was a very racist year that was when obama got elected
I listened to this when i was a kid
I listened to this in middle school,
Highschool, college
And now I listened to it after graduation
And surprisingly, i always feel better. This song is amazing. Things have definitely worked out, and im sure they will, even now. :)
I know I’m a year late but congrats on graduating

How are you guys doing?
@@ILoveWomenXoXo We're doing good! Thank you for asking!

The nostalgia...
I have social anxiety as well and I know how u feel so yeah, this song REALLY helps :)
Id recommend the book How to win friends and influence people. Dale carnegie. Its helped me a bit.
My guy everyone’s going through the same thing. Some people are just better at hiding it
i would say talk to a professional my man. i was going through the same exact thing as you are, and i even dropped out of college because of it. i went to a therapist and eventually found out that i had social anxiety and adhd. they started giving me medication and more counseling and now it’s like the world is opening up to me. don’t lose hope, you’re not useless!! some people just need some extra help and that’s ok :)
Highschool..

Ah yeah man.
Best part though: band.
And middle school

When i first heard this song i was in middle school and i had 2 women teachers who really loved this song. And whenever we had parties they always had this song playing, along with other songs so i Always went up to the radio and hit the repeat button so it would play over and over again. I'm now 30 and still listen to this song every night before going to bed! One of the many songs i love from Jimmy Eat World!!!
Definitely one of the best songs ever written.
*as soon as the guitar started playing* welp this is going in my playlist that's still everygrowing
appearently you can like ur own comment XD
First time ever hearing this, and honestly it helps with life so much. I'll always remember it. Thank you Jimmy Eat World
The theme song to every....early millennium movie involving high school.

YOOO! THANKS FOR THE LIKES!

leo miller well, after hearing the same song twenty times a day for about 3 yrs..yeah it kinda changes the way u perceive the song...so i guess ur right, too
I wish I was a teenager in the early 2000's.
I was born in 2000, glad I am where I am but I claim the late 90s and early 2000s as my era of music. The rest of my generation can keep mumble rap. Rihanna and Ariana Grande make some ok music though.

I wanna dedicate this to my friend Jess. She's on the run and has gone missing from her family and friends. She's been struggling with feeling left out and looked down on too so I hope she hears this song one day soon and remembers that it takes time and that She's just in the middle of a storm and that it's never to late. And lastly hope she believes it when she hears that everything is gonna be alright!💯❤️💔❤️🩹💖🙏
Plz God Protect her and bring her Home finally!!! Amen
Did she come home? 😢
Ey dude! I hope Jess has come around and is in a much better mental place than a year ago. All the best to her! 🎉

Stay the course, meet someone on your road.We only get lost on someone else's 🛣

After reading the comments, I say this; this a sing that no matter how old you are , it gives you a " jump start!" This came out when I was in my 30s . Loved it then! I'm in my 50s. Still love it! When I see a band in a bar playing covers and NEAR this, I go up and request it! Great song! Great video as well! The girl over his right shoulder in the red bottoms has some pretty cool moves too!!

This song is one of the few reasons im still living. Not only is it a really good song, but it’s also a really uplifting song and the lyrics SLAP

SWAER TO GOD. MOM DIED AT 17 & THIS WAS HER SONG TO ME. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I LOVE YOU.
So needed to hear this as I rode to the doctor's office. It's funny how you be around certain ppl and they either tell you certain things that fit what your dealing with in a particular situation with words of advice, or play a song of inspiration to motivate. Heard this in the store today and was taken way back to the early 2000s. This song just completely encompasses that time period. I never realized how uplifting this song was until now. I could barely understand a word they were saying listening to this in 2001/2002 at 12-years-old lol
This song changed me. Idk how to describe it but I feel better in everyway. That is the power of music.
