Kids nowadays are not as fortunate as kids of the past. We had NO MONEY back then but were richer than millionaires with this type of music, the food the get togethers, the dancing, the drinking, the playing of chalupas ,cards, dominoes, horseshoes, the family and friends. My name is JERRY CANTU son of orlando cantu and marisela guardian and I thank the lord everday for being born when i was and for being raisedthe way I was. I lost bothof my parenta in 2020 and it hurt very much, but i have a family of my own and it is my duty to be there for them and raise them right. Thats why every saturday we fill up the pool and the pits and listen this song and many more fromthe past so that we may not ever forget where and who we came from❤
My Dad was a HUGE fan of Little Joe till the day he passed. This was one of the songs we played at his funeral. I will ALWAYS and forever think of him when I hear these songs. This song is now very special to my heart. I listen to it often and can't help but think if him.❤❤❤
I loved little joe's music since I was 12 years old and now I have it in my blood, in my heart and in my soul! Now Im 66 rears old. This is how wonderful his musiv teally is!
Wow, this song brings back memories of my mom & dad and them listening to a static filled radio station early in the morning while my mom is making breakfast, the smell of something delicious in the frying pan and the smell of coffee and freshly made tortillas. Thanks so much for the sweet memories!
My husband better play this at my funeral, we met at “El Baile Grande” and went back every year to listen to Little Joe We still listen to him. We will celebrate our 50th Anniversary 02/16/2020. God Willing
Gonna play this on my road trip to El Paso to see my mom. Many memories, especially since my dad was in a band that played these songs and practiced in our garage.
@@rachelbenitez7727 Thanks. I was so happy to hear these songs. It was also great to see my mom and my family. Six months after I saw my mom, she passed away unexpectedly. I will forever remember her and dad dancing to this music.
They played this at my uncles funeral last week. It truly was the anthem of the Chicano movement when they were still fighting for civil rights. We owe that generation a debt of gratitude because they stood up when the laws did not protect them. I hope we have the courage to do the same when and if those hard won rights are ever taken away. Ben might think its garbage, I doubt he has any idea what the Chicano movement was even about. Just enjoy the rights this generation fought for Ben, they have already been paid for.
I am not even Mexican but this music feels nostalgic. I didn’t even grow up around Hispanics till I was 10. Never even appreciated tacos till well into my adulthood. But I don’t know what it is about this music, it’s got a hold on me like I grew up with listening to it since my childhood. All good family memories and feelings flood my senses. Was this my identity in my last life? Idk, but it makes me wonder. A wonder only something as pure as music can bring to one’s heart.
My family was deep into the Chicano movement. This song makes me cry, bc of the significance of the song. It was literally the National anthem of the Chicano movement!!
Takes me back to the best days of my youth ! At every family party this was always played !! Much love and respect to all of you that feel this the way I do.
My lovely father's favorite song. A year ago today, 8/18/2019, you departed, a lovely Sunday morning, we were awoken by rain and thunder, just what you love, we knew this would be your special day. We played this song in your funeral and we still play it often. This song keeps me so close to you, brings me love, brings me pain, brings me joy and wonderful memories of you. I miss you so much daddy, thank you for leaving me this song, until we meet again, can't wait to hug you forever ♥️
Rip my heart!!!! My dads favorite song too he left on the 13th of September 2020!!! I miss Him!!! I went to TH-cam tonight … this morning because I wanted to hear my dads song so I started to read and came across your comment!!! I feel you!!! I don’t know why your going through right now, but remember that thunder and rain, comforts!! Keep shining like that star your daddy knew you would be!!!

I grew up seeing this album in the living room coffee table not knowing that my whole childhood I had been staring at gold that would later in life change it. Hell I learned how to draw because of that eagle on the cover. Question how many of you know that album opens up and has the whole eagle on it. Little Joe all I can simply say is Thank You
