He does a great job of showing the dark and survivalistic side of humanity. Outside that the guy is just badass and cool in real life. Cant wait to see more of Stephen Lang.
I love how he says Pandaura. He's 100% right at 4:30, he talks about in 10 years how they can come back and explore Pandaura more. And here it is ten years later we're halfway done filming the sequels. I can't figure out how they are bringing him back for the avatar sequels tho?
I guess it depends on the time rea, there's also gaps in story that can be filled with him, multitude of ways to give more depth to the existing story by filling out more background leading up to the previous movie.
"Wit is a weapon" Lang is absolutely right. Spot on with his answer here. "Shut your pie hole" is a funny saying, so it's ok to laugh, but it's also the sort of thing an abusive parent in ye olden days might say to a child, back when children were taught to be "seen and not heard". There's a contemptuousness there. Also, I love Apocalypto, so glad Lang brought it up!
@sparks1504 You nailed this on the head! Both of these movies were/are masterpieces and should go down in history as such, including being tremendous historical pieces for the United States. But Stephen Lang's performance as Stonewall was outerworldly. The first time I watched G & G it took me nine hours. Having to stop repeatedly due to the power of his acting overwhelmed me. I own several copies of this film and have watched it many, many times.
Couldn't have cast a better person for the role! I loved and hated the Quaritch character, he had good points from one perspective and not so good form others. Very well portrayed.
My pics for best movie acting jobs of all time, no particular order: Ron Moody as Fagan in Oliver, Alistair Sim as Scrooge in Scrooge, F. Murray Abraham as Salieri in Amadeus, Richard Harris as Marcus Aurelius in Gladiator, Russell Crowe as Jim Braddock in Cinderella Man, Oliver Reed as Proximo in Gladiator, James Caviezel as Edmond Dantès in The Count of Monte Cristo, Stephen Lang as Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals. These are my pics. What are yours? Would love to hear them.
@freestanding1000 I loved Michael Fassbender in anything, and Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. I also loved Gary Oldham in any film, but my all time favourite has to be Michael Douglas as the iconic Gordon Gekko.
@thenutsisgood A weak list? A strong list would contain many hundreds of actors in many thousands of roles, but there's limited space. I'm also identifying what I felt, not what the world says I should feel. Each of these actors you mention are among my personal favourites and do not discount them, or many others, but these are my favourites. What are you favourite particular acting jobs, not actors in general? I merely did this as fun conversation, not debate.
sounds almost as if you'd jizz in your pants ! lol But seriously he should be in more movies and I'm certain his performance caught a lot of directors' attention
Stephen Lang has been underated as an actor for far too long!! The man is amazing!
Lang is awesome. He played the Colonel SO damn well, I just loved his acting :)
one of the best actors for a military role. i love stephen lang!!!
thumbs up if u agree
He does a great job of showing the dark and survivalistic side of humanity. Outside that the guy is just badass and cool in real life. Cant wait to see more of Stephen Lang.
This man deserves an oscar nomination! :D
Something about him especially when he smiles that reminds me of a older Chris Reeves.
Lovee Stephen Lang ❤
“10yrs from now”
Well we’re still waiting on a sequel lol
Avatar’ll be back!
Not anymore
What are you talking about?
Teaser is out and apparently 2 sequels shot.
I love how he says Pandaura. He's 100% right at 4:30, he talks about in 10 years how they can come back and explore Pandaura more. And here it is ten years later we're halfway done filming the sequels. I can't figure out how they are bringing him back for the avatar sequels tho?

He's quite the gentleman, with just the hint of roughness. He played an awesome Ike Clanton in Tombstone also.
I love Stephen Lang!!!
You crossed the line. *punches Jake Sully*
Wheel this meat outta here.
He is badass in Avatar. He was awesome in the film.
what a guy, this dude is amazing. He was right about apocalypto and master and commander, two highly acclaimed movies
this guy said "goodness knows." lol imagine him in avatar going "oh goodness"
"Wit is a weapon"

Also, I love Apocalypto, so glad Lang brought it up!
Lang rocked in Gettysburg as Pickett and in Gods and Generals as Stonewall Jackson, great actor
its just odd seeing this guy in anything other than military uniform...he should always walk around in fatigues
Cool interview, Stephen Lang is a chill guy.
This guys badass!! He's awesome..
So, he didn't play the role, he was just as he is - natural born Miles Quaritch. This is why that character looked so perfect!
This guy looks like he could beat up a few guys in a fight
Lmaoooo
bloody brilliant actor
Stephen Lang is awesome! Great actor
The true hero of Avatar.

genuine is a good way to describe him...
i love you stephen! you are a great actor!
Colonel Quaritch is BACK!!
Unbelievable this is the only video without any dislikes
He was great in Tombstone, Ike Clanton!
I love this guy!
Couldn't have cast a better person for the role!
I loved and hated the Quaritch character, he had good points from one perspective and not so good form others.
Very well portrayed.
In the next Batman film, they should put Deathstroke as the main villain and Mr. Lang should be casted to play him

He was awesome in this movie, drinking the coffee while blowing the na'vi up, epic. I hated and loved him for it..lol..
I agree! Would have loved to have seen more of his character in it!
that voice is AWSOME
stephen lang's the maaaan
What a champ!
Stephen the man
It’s ten years from now
He would make a cracking J Jonah Jamison, he would make the role his own, just like JK Simmons did, another brilliant actor.
Impressive appearance & authoritative voice...tan, muscles, gray hair & scar. This character could be next best villain (after Dart Vader).
He wasn't sure whether Titanic was in the 80's. Man, oh man, lol...
Wow, his voice sounds different! Where is he actually from?
He is much nicer than Col Quaritch 😁
Ikr?
@freestanding1000 I loved Michael Fassbender in anything, and Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. I also loved Gary Oldham in any film, but my all time favourite has to be Michael Douglas as the iconic Gordon Gekko.
2:04: Of course he’s hard, he was in the Marines.
and that's how you scatter the roaches
@msknighttime
A great performance too!
I waz kinda pissed that Michael Biehn didn get the role but Stephen Lang did a brilliant job
your laughed at IT?!
DAMN YOU!! lol
@freestanding1000 That's a weak list. No Peter O' Toole? No Robert de Niro? No Daniel Day Lewis or Leonardo DiCaprio?
blow me away hmmm in which way I wonder
can someone explain to me wtf is papa dragon ?
nicbleu big late but it’s his ship
D'ya hear that? Even HE referred to it as epic! XD

They should have Me inteview Him and call it Stephen Lang meets Stephen Lang.
@toured87 what does that even mean?
Stephen lang je najkrajší ako velitel taylor. Ste môj najoblúbenejší herec.
Zdravím ...sice to čtu trochu pozdě, ale souhlasím ,-)
the best scene was wen he caught fire n fell into the megarobot
@JeremyL1983 Kinda like JCVD at 55, or older.
