I haven't combed my hair since may of 2013, funny how we keep track of things like that now lol! I don't even have a proper wide tooth comb, the one I have is a comb that came with "The Instyler" I purchased in 2011 and I was told that that comb is not the same as a regular wide tooth comb and when I examined it, it has lines or ridges on the inside of the teeth so that probably added to the crackle sound I was hearing, lol!! Live and learn : )

After some picking, fluffing, and a few spritz of water, this is how my transitioning hair turns out after a two-strand twistout, but it is more of an actual heart shape (longer layers towards the front), which I have come to totally love. I love your fro tutorial, btw (like all of your tutorials)! You can rock any hair style out there, Whitney!
I think because nowadays naturls layer their hair so you need to style to suit. old school FROs were one length so the fro looked better rounded without a part. IMO.
I think it's just a modern spin on an ole school style. If you wanna go straight seventies, no part. But some ppl may not like how the full fro frames their face. I know for me some styles just look better with a part where others I can just let frame my entire face.
gospelevans sorry I have not, all the people I follow layer their hair....but my mom used to rock a "round" fro and she kept her hair basically one length, picked it out then very lightly patted it into shape to achieve her fro.

I started transitioning last summer and have had 4 trims in the process, you should just take tips from almost ALL curly hair bloggers/'experts'. I have 3c- 4b hair but I still watch others with 2c hair because they still give good advice. Find what works for you and your hair will soon grow to its desired length.
